Petite allegros just kill me. They look so easy, and are so hard. I find it difficult to remember the combos. Thank you for the video. Your channel is so helpful to me. I started ballet at 42. I'd been diagnosed w fibro a few years earlier and w chronic pain and body issues. Ballet has helped pull me out of my mental funk and given me my physical strength back.

Thank you for sharing that! How wonderful ballet has helped you mentally and physically!! And yes, I feel the same way about petit allegro! :)

I feel very much the same- with Hyper-mobility syndrome. I'm yet to return to regular classes but just watching the videos and doing small practice at home is helping me heal :) All the best with your journey compadre!

When Alvin does the combo he makes it look so effortless! Like in his head he's just going la-di-da and not even thinking about it! Great job Jana!

You are such an inspiration! I started ballet this year with 20 and even though everyone around me told me that I would be too old, I'm loving it and keep practicing.

I started at 19. I had caught up to the rest of my class in a couple of years. I was en pointe at 21 and at 36 I'm still dancing. You're not too old. Dance on! :)

this is such a difficult combination because it's not symmetrical - the steps kinda seem random but when performed - the steps are totally musical. great combination. So interesting to think about it and I'm so glad I don't have to do this in my class :p

I love this video! That dance is cool as hell, the way the dancers kinda bounce to the tune, and pas de chats always make me laugh, they're so mirthful!

More challenging petit / grand allegros. I feel most teachers don't spend much time going over these things because they are challenging and they'd rather move on to things that are easy for most people. Thank you for making these awesome videos!

I believe the term is either jeté dessus(over) or jeté dessous(under) not jeté en dedans(inside) or en dehors(outside).

This is one of my favorite videos from your channel! I loved watching a professional and a non-professional dance alongside each other. I loved learning a new combo. I loved the improv around 11:52. I loved the video thumbnail which epitomizes so many of my feelings in ballet class *facepalm*
@BallerinasByNight7 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much!! So funny about the time mark with the improv - I had been editing that together and didn't notice for awhile that Kristin straight up starts doing attitudes and what not instead haha. Can't take ourselves too seriously!

@camiproctor84213 жыл бұрын
I wish more ballet videos included a view of the back of the instructor because that’s how class is. I have trouble orienting what direction and what foot, etc when the videos have the instructor facing me… and I’m an experienced dancer. Rusty, but experienced. Why are so few videos offering this?
@BallerinasByNight3 жыл бұрын
Hi Cami! I totally get this! I think likely people don't want to film themselves from behind and/or without a mic (harder to hear facing away), but I love that Alvin did it here! Noting that for our class videos going forward!
