Apologies for the "popping" in the video. Apparently one of my mic cables is going bad and needs to be replaced. One day as the channel continues to grow, I would like to hire someone that can join me on Tour to help with filming and can monitor audio during the actual recording. But for now...it's just Youthman. :) This 7.2.4 Dolby Atmos Home Theater began with the most important aspects...room design and acoustic treatment. Thank you for the feedback. Seems the vast majority are enjoying the new format so this will continue in future Tours. Definitely submit yours at www.hometheatertours.com and if you know anyone else in your area, have them submit as well. That's the only way I will find locations that have multiple Home Theaters I can film that are relatively close proximity to each other to make the trip feasible.

Awesome, I received two awesome home theater submissions from Michigan. One is in Nordhville and the other is in Flint. Only 1hr apart so if we can get 4-6 more in that area or get a brand to sponsor the trip, we definitely could make that happen.

I love the thread of obsession you can see with every person on the tour. We all try to play it cool when we talk about our design but you can hear his pursuit of perfection when he talks about it. Seems like a really laid back guy though. Very cool. Great room, lots of unique features! Once again you can hear the difference in treatment when you switched spaces. Looks like a really amazing experience. Well done in the build and thanks for letting us in to your home!

I think they are my end game. That is a bold statement for someone in this hobby. I recommend an audition because this is such a subjective aspect of home theater. I like that they are made by one hard working person (Jeff Permanian) who refuses to compromise on his vision and it is reflected in the quality of the product. There is no entry level product line. He states they are built to last a lifetime and it is no joke. Amazing guy and please be patient when contacting him and ordering. It really is just him and he is doing the best he can to get product out the door.

@@grantvanscoyoc1224 I’d love to but I don’t have my own house yet and the $$ is nuts. I have PSA speakers which are the best speakers I’ve heard so far and the price is perfect for what you get. @@Youthman hey youthman, I’m loving all your videos and your overall vibe!! You make this addiction worth it lol 🙏🏽😂 I have a question on which speaker system you’d go with if you had to choose between all three. All 3 will be posted by Denon x4700 and SVS Pb3000 1st- SVS ultra tower theater package with height, center fronts and ultra surrounds. 2nd-B&W CT7.3 for front stage CT7.5 for rears 3rd Magnat Ultra Cinema THX100. 3 of its speakers for front stage, their height speakers and surround except I don’t like dipole so I’m thinking about 5 of the cinema speakers total. I’m asking in regards to movie watching only and trying not to break the bank. I’m looking for that cinema dialog and explosive heart thumping bass. The B&W are the most $$ and the Magnat are the least and the SVS in the middle as far as budget. Just wanted to get you expert opinion before pulling the trigger 😄 Once again, thank you for your amazing content 🙏🏽

I am 9' from the screen. Maybe 9'4 once reclined. My 2.35 is perfect imo but 1.85 is too small. Will rectify that soon enough!
@frankvee
@frankvee 2 жыл бұрын
@@grantvanscoyoc1224 If your 2.35 is perfect but 16:9 is too small, you might want to consider a screen that is the same width as your current screen, but taller vertically. Then when running 2.35 you would mask top and bottom only, and when running 16:9 you would mask a little of the left and right sides, and also a bit of the top and bottom. That would result in optimal sizes for both screen sizes, and would replicate what you can achieve with a motorized masking system. I haven't seen anyone do this with manual masks, but I think it should be doable. If you go with a larger screen and just mask your sides for optimal 16:9 you might find that 2.35:1 is a bit too wide for your liking.

They are right at 38 degrees. A little too wide but I prefer it vs a little too narrow. With my smaller screen size those were the choices. With a new larger screen I might get away with it being inside the screen but I am not sure. My eyes are around 9 ft from the screen.

So, there may really be no clear answer to this, but I own a full GoldenEar speaker system. I have One.R’s across the front. Now, how would JTR speakers enhance my movie watching experience? I mean, I understand the subs, as the depths they reach are subsonic, but the mains and center in particular…some sort of enhanced listening experience?

Hi Michael, great content man, but why don’t you show the demos and film your reactions to these phenomenal theatres ?
@Youthman
@Youthman 2 жыл бұрын
One reason. Copyright. Last year I used an eight second clip from KZbin being played on a projector to demonstrate the projector’s image. I am mediately received a copyright strike on my channel. If I receive three copyright strikes within a 90 day period, KZbin will delete my entire account. Since this is my livelihood, I I am not willing to lose my channel to provide a demo. Hope that helps

I am interested in incorporating a dbx drive rack for diy modullar speakers. As one of the only videos i could find with ht use of driverack, do u think this is a good idea?

The Kansas City and the Wisconsin Missouri groups began on the AVS forum many years ago. Over the years they began doing Home Theater Crawls where once a month a member of the group would host a G2G (Get Together).

I don't have experience with any of the other DBX products. I see that the one I purchased long ago has now increased in price. I am hoping to leave it behind in favor of a processor with DIRAC and it will include DLBC (Dirac Live Bass Correction). I bought an iTest mic to use with it and I have also used professional calibration through HighImpactAV to great result.

Hey youthman, I have a question. I have an 5.1.2 setup and my height speakers are at 80degree above me from the ceiling. I am using mostly neural x and I wann try auro in the future. BUT I have just 2 height speaker. Would you recommend to put the speakers in 30 degree over my fronts at the ceiling? Or should I stay 80 degrees? I know your podcast videos with Joe, techno dad and Wilfried from auro. Here in Germany we use way more often the upmixer and I would be very happy if you could help me. Greetings from Germany and thank you for your work 👍🍻

MDF. I think it is somewhere in the build thread. The lights sit right inside and I will be upgrading to some fancy trick LED RGB lights at some point.

@@Youthman I agree, but I feel so far behind. I've only owned a house for 7 years, but I've been doing the home theater thing for way longer. I got a headstart when my dad built a basement home theater in '95. I upgraded it with a new receiver and tower speakers in '06. Then I moved out and brought all that with me to the apartment before we eventually moved into the house 7 years ago. I wish I could design a space like the other guys in town.

You do you bro. If someone wants to purchase thousands of media because they are a collector and continually watch movies, how does that make them a hoarder? If that’s what they choose to spend their money on, who am I to judge?

@@Youthman You gradually keep or gather a huge number of items, regardless of their actual value. That isnt a judgement at all. I think it is lame that people come to someones theater and then take shots at them for using physical discs instead of creating a server with a NAS and spending time on ripping discs. You could tell that comment from whomever bothered this guy. That is all. I dont care at all how people spend their money and time. Just thought it was lame they took shots at him.
