for anyone who's questioning, the judges gave her C for these reasons: 1, she remained the poker face through out the performance, and they needed more facial expression. 2, they judged her mostly based on her main performance with Snow Kong, so basically this cool solo dance was just an "addition". I personally think she deserved a B. But hopefully we can see more from her ❤

Xiaotang has great Chinese traditional folk dance techniques as she grew up dancing this type of dance. However, it is not very helpful if she decides to do dances like hip-pop. The techniques and the general idea of these two types are totally different and the things that the two focuses on are kind of on the two extremes. From what I understand, Chinese folk dance focuses more on fluidity between each move, they want the whole thing to be as smooth as possible, "flow smoothly like water". I don't know a lot about hip-pop but from what I have observed, it focuses on the power of each move, sometimes the fixation of each move and the energy. As a traditional dancer, how Xiaotang did for the group dance is already good enough (you can see the difference in expression between Snow and Xiaotang). There's really no good or bad, but viewing from a different aspect can actually reveal the excellent techniques that Xiaotang has.

I'm a bit sceptical about Kun being in the jury... I believe that if it was Lay, he would have given her a B at least... Though idk about her balance. Or just Lay would have been fairer with grading everyone. Kun said that the main performance is the most important which isn't wrong but then he also graded other trainees better relying on what they did in their individual performance... Well I hope she makes it in the end and shows him that C wasn't what she deserved at all!! She is my 2nd pick after Kiki Xu!

I usually agree with Kun's ranking and it is true that having good facial expressions is essential for an idol. After all, they are expected to do so many different concepts and you just can't have a poker face all the time. I do think her pokerface worked for the main performance, and her dance was very beautiful otherwise

Kiki Xu has been my fave from the start along with Xin Liu then I came across Xiaotang and I have been taken away completely. Love this girl. Kun is definitely blind, the main performance was also amazing besides her vocal. My eyes was just drawn to her and that is beside what they consider a class A trainee, so it only means she's that good. So unfair.
