Update: During the drive, I turned on and then off the AC button while the air was set to the middle vents and that caused it to finally turn off. It's like it was stuck on, and that un-stuck it.

I bought a used 2016 Versa to learn stick. Edit: First Impressions: Clutch gave around 76000 miles. Very expensive to replace because of the labor of removing the transmission. Expect to pay $2k+ for the clutch. Otherwise cheap parts. Pretty fun, but first gear is kinda small so it can be tough to learn at first, especially if you live near lots of hills. 2:20 Coasting in neutral is not only dangerous because you don't have engine breaking (you end up using more the foot brake), but modern cars shut off the fuel supply when you are in gear and not accelerating, so you actually use more fuel going to neutral instead of choosing any gear.

Don’t buy one of these Nissans,or any Nissan for that matter. I bought a Versa s manual 2021 and after just 8k miles the engine is failing. The dealership said it’s most likely the head gasket that failed. The oil gas cap is getting super cake like with milk appearance. The car has been red flags since the day I bought it. Oil leaked from engine, door handles that didn’t work and even a few safety warning lights malfunctioning. I really regret ever buying the Versa. People do not buy a Nissan!!! And what’s funnier is Nissan denied anything was seriously wrong with it. I said so it’s normal for the engine to be leaking oil all over it shelf brand new? Give me a break. Glad I bought a new Corolla and can now move on from this mistake
@youtoobe1692 жыл бұрын
First you say the dealer said it's a head gasket and then you said they said nothing wrong. Which is it?
@jasonmazzuca6772 жыл бұрын
The mechanic said wait until it becomes obvious so I could get the new engine replacement I watched your videos before I bought the Versa because I like the manual. You can get mad at me but these cars have always been super unreliable cars. It’s a fact. Why do u think Nissan is going out of business. It’s because the quality is not there simply put.
@jasonmazzuca6772 жыл бұрын
Also I have had to take the brand new Versa in on many occasions and the Nissan dealers try to make it seam it’s minor because they lose money having to fix these cars free. And I believe they don’t want anything really documented. Then they would have to do recalls. Now when the car only had like 500 miles with oil leaking around the head they denied seeing any leaks. But it was clear the oil was all over the engine. Now recently they could not deny anything this time because now stuff is mixing in the oil. It’s so sad how the do business and treat customers. Just own up to the mistakes and make it better but they won’t.

@@jasonmazzuca677 Sorry to hear you got a bad car. It happens with all manufacturers, not just Nissan. Make sure you document everything with videos and pictures and when you take it to the dealership make sure they put exactly what you say on the RO. My advice? Sell to Carvana. They are paying over $19K for a '21 Versa S Manual. You can actually make a profit on it.

@@jamievidd775 I have quotes in hand for 12933 and 12795 for a manual. This includes the $1000 rebate currently available. It looks like the price has gone up for the 2020 vs 2019 and before. I think it is a nicer and bigger car than the 2019 and has front and rear automatic braking which is a nice bonus, in my opinion and unheard of in this price of vehicle. If it had CarPlay it would be a no brainer for me.
