The whole lip reduction thing is why you should go under the knife for you and you alone. Unless its a medical reason, trends change. People get their eyebrows tattooed for 'fashion' but you never know how quickly that could change. Same thing goes for the lips, like you said so many people wanted the big Kylie Jenner lips and now lip reduction? So if the new fashion trend was to have your face look like one of Floops fooglies from Spy Kids would people do it?

Really, ENDLESS thanks for shining a spotlight on this. As one of those people who both knew kids who grew up with shit like that and also had my fair share of it at home, I know what it's like to see people who thrived in spite of it and people who didn't as they got older, and not ONE of them was ever better _because_ of horrible shit like that. I still can't even quell how utterly livid every moment of those videos make me, but again, I really can't thank you enough for that video and the follow-up today for shining a spotlight on this shit.

Rob Dyke You have a large amount of content of videos on serial killers. This kind of abuse on young Cody is very reminiscent of the pasts of those killers. Cody shows these symptoms, which may be made even worse by the fact his abuse is on display for the internet-capable world to see. Do you think this could be the makings of a dangerous adult if proper mental health care is not made available to him?

I think the mother is 100% the source of the abuse. She is unable to empathize with Cody because he may be 'different' from the others. This is so sad and hope that social services get involved very soon because the mother has the potential to become an even worse abuser than she is right now. She might actually seriously start physically abusing him. I was similar to Cody where my mother would yell at me and hit me telling me I was "too sensitive" and the abuse she'd display would "make me stronger" and it did the exact opposite. I am very soft spoken and hate being yelled at even though I am 20 years old now. Thank you Philip, you may have saved this boy w/o even realizing it.

"Cody has... something 'else' "..... Yea, because he's being abused by his own family. The family that is supposed to love and protect him, but is instead using him as a punching bag, for the sake of a "prank". I just don't get how some people, ESPECIALLY parents, can agree with and find what they are doing to him to funny. It is complete and total abuse, and that poor kid is going to have a rough future because of them.

Emily, I'm going to have to disagree. I get what you're saying in principle, but bad things can happen to good people. My aunt and uncle got investigated once cause my 5 year old cousin picked up the phone and said "I don't know where mommy is, I don't know when she'll be back" (presumably because she didn't listen to her mom when her mom said she was outside and would be back in 5 min) and the concerned citizen reported them to CPS (she only found out about the call when CPS/police showed up demanding answers).

As a person who has seen and been abused myself I have to insist that this child is being abused. I hope that someone with the power to do something does the right thing and helps those children by taking them away from their parents. There are people who should not have children and these people are a prime example. I also have to say I agree with the statement that I WISH someone would have saved me when I was a kid. I wish someone would have done something for me in my time if need and you Phill have done that for this family, you brought the darkness into the light so people could see this and that good sir does make you a hero. This is not what a childhood is supposed to be about. It should be about love not the amount of likes on a video.

Does anyone know what Cody's rights are? Or do our parents really have this much control over us until we turn 18? Does anyone know? Yesterday's episode messed me up, i'm not going to lie. The second I heard the mom yell "What the FUCK did you DO?" i started crying. Yes, that was SO fucked up. But beyond that, beyond the obvious How fucked is it now that they parents are telling the WORLD that Cody has a problem using the bathroom as well? Like, I couldn't watch that video, so I have no idea how much or little this family shares, but how the fuck is Cody supposed to ever have a normal life with that information plastered on the internet? He will be emotionally and physically abused at home, and now he has to go to school where people will remember him for shitting himself in the internet? How is this trauma and humiliation not obvious?

There were so many things wrong with that Disney video 1. His parents had what should be a private conversation about their child on the internet, not only for him to see but everybody else. They've said in videos that their kids have access to the youtube account and social media so there is no doubt in my mind that him and his siblings (who obviously pick on him) will hear his parents calling him "crazy" and saying if he came to disney he would make everyone miserable. Note this conversation happened after he put the camera on Cody and shamed him for his behaviour and reminding him why he wasn't coming to disney - as if he didn't already feel like shit. 2. When Cody leaves all his dad says is "behave" not i love you, ill miss you, or I'm sorry. They when the door shuts one of the other kids begins to celebrate that Cody isn't around anymore and the dad says that he shouldn't be celebrating because he doesn't deserve to come either. So technically the other siblings have misbehaved and don't deserve the trip but Cody was the only one they rushed to exclude - it seems he is unfairly the target of the family in almost all scenarios. (This is also evident in the comments, some seemingly long time viewers pointed out bad behaviour from the siblings that had been shown in previous videos.) 3. Even if Cody is not abused and his behaviour is not due to abuse he obviously needs professional help. His behaviour is abnormal. They say "God knows what else he has" well no, idiots, a professional child psychologist can easily tell you. It is one thing to punish children but when their bad behaviour becomes out of the norm you need to consult with a professional. They clearly have the money to do so now that they're raking in the KZbin cash. I wonder if they're reluctant to send him to therapy because of what he could say about them... or their just ignorant white trash who don't understand how to help the human life they are in charge of.

Not to your kids. It's unbecoming, as a parent, to even think that's alright. That's what happens when people get a bunch of kids when they're young and stupid, but then remain in the stupid mindset, and forget the parenting side.

Also if you watch the Disney World video, when they film Cody being picked up by his grandparents (I think they were his grandparents) before he leaves he is SMILING. When a kid is told by his parents he can't go to Disney World and he is SMILING, you know there is something wrong. He just seems happy to get away from them. After he starts smiling, he instantly starts making a sad face, but it's very unconvincing, and it looks like he was told to look sad.

I work in the public schools, and I see children terrified of their parents. They are children like Cody. I know that they act out because they want to be in control of something in their lives. With children in the schools however, I know exactly what to do to help. With Cody, I don't. We are people around the world just watching in anger as a child is abused. My question is, what is the protocol for situations like this? How can we do something?

I'm wondering as well, it really concerns me if the channel is basically just "prank and abuse my kids for money" and KZbin has no problem with that. Especially with their new focus on "advertiser friendly content" it seems like a channel like this should not be tolerated, even if it were all "staged", which doesn't seem to be the case. For now I just sent youtube feedback with the following message *"I have serious concerns with many videos published by the channel "daddyofive". They appear to show both physical and verbal abuse toward children, and are also profiting from these videos. Please look into it."* (the feedback tab is on the very bottom of the screen)

the daddyofive case breaks my heart. I work with children who have been abused and this is exactly what I see before they are taken into our custody, especially when it comes to large families. There's usually only one target, it's a great way to make it seem like nothing is going on, "4 out of 5 kids are fine, this one is just not normal" = the majority setup. I hope that the CPS in their area takes another long hard look at what is happening before that child is mentally reduced to nothing by his family.

If they think Cody has something seriously wrong, why do they not have him evaluated by a child psychologist? Without parents in the room to coach him on what to say and away from his brothers. Perhaps instead of writing him off as "a kid with problems", maybe have him evaluated for a few days so he can open up about what is truly bothering him. I think if that were done there would be a lot more abuse uncovered aside from what they show people.

"I wish he would act like a normal kids, after we do all this abnormal abusive acts to him." The mental fortitude idea is bullshit when it comes from abuse. Mental fortitude should come from explaining to the kid, "There are terrible, horrifying things in life. You're not always going to get what you want. Not everyone is going to like you. Life is going to knock you down. But you have a choice: to let it affect you or to push past it and move forward. You can cry, whine and yell. Or you can collect yourself, take a deep breath, and push forward. You can always get back up. If you let it all just keep you on the ground you are going to go no where in life (no where good at least). You are strong, [insert child's name here]. You can do anything if you set your mind to it and work hard at it." This is from my experience as a kid. You don't get the same outcome from treating your kid like garbage. You get adults by treating kids with the same respect as adults. You get monsters from treating kids like monsters.

How can those hilljack parents watch their own videos as they edit them together and not be horrified by what they are doing to that child? It's so incredibly clear that poor kid is being singled out by the entire family... DO NOT GET ME WRONG!--I am a huge believer that our society has gotten soft and coddled, BUT that is not how you teach a boy to be a strong man. You have them do things on their own instead of doing it for them, you hold them accountable on school work by not letting them hangout with friends if they get poor grades, you teach them to earn respect by being polite and well behaved, teach them to be self reliant by looking at a problem and try to asses solutions before immediately asking for mom or dad's help..YOU DO NOT BULLY THEM, you do not single out one kid, you do not play pranks on a child and scream and cuss at them AND ABSOLUTELY DO NOT HIT THEM. Only cowards who have broken English, nasty goatees, no class, no self dignity and no BALLS abuse a child physically, mentally and verbally. I think those two are pieces of trash. I have two new born baby twins and I can't possibly fathom ever speaking to them or treating them that way. I love them more than I ever thought possible and that pains me to see two mentally ill adults abuse their own kid. Thank you for shitting on those two I hope their channel plummets and those two move back into their old trailer and that kid moves in with a wealthy family that treats him with respect and dignity.

Big load of BS right there! I was a child with quite a privileged upper middle class upbringing, with no monetary concerns and went on vacations got toys etc. But it was not pleasant because my dad was abusive verbally and physically. He bought things for me to assuage his guilt rather than to help me. I would have rather been dirt poor with no toys and not have my dad put me down, hurt me and rage violently.

I was very lucky in that I had a lot of behavioral issues as a child and instead of my family humiliating me, ganging up on me, screaming at me, calling me crazy, my parents went and saw a therapist to figure out how to properly handle my problems. I don't care if it is a prank or not, you do not scream and curse at your child like that for any reason. And what's worse is that they made there child cry for views, I don't care if it's "Just a prank bro!!!". You are a disgrace as a parent and I hope that your children don't turn into little shits because of your lack of parenting. And I hope to all that is good in the world that Cody can get away from you awful child abusers. Getting help or looking into his behavior would mean admitting that he isn't just a "Problem child" and they do not want to do that because it would lead to them having to look at their own actions and say "Oh fuck, I AM a bad parent and I HAVE been abusing my child." And no one wants to admit that easily so it's easier to just keep lying to yourself that your parenting has no effect on your children.

Abusing your child (physically and/or mentally) as a form of punishment for what you believe is bad behavior teaches your child that they can use the same techniques on others when others do something they deem is "bad behavior". Abusing children only creates worse behavior and potentially a mentally disturbed human being.

That child, Cody, is very disturbed because of his parents and has been abused by them. I worked with young children as a teacher and the fecal behavior is a serious cry for help. After watching the clip today about Disneyland it seemed to reveal how much the chief abuser in this family is the mother. She needs to be locked up! Often in sick families like this there is one or sometimes two members who are the scapegoat or punching bag for the other members to take out their aggression on. Why is KZbin even showing any of these videos at all? Why can't KZbin be sued for showing child abuse as entertainment? Profiting from a crime is a new low!

Michael Denny You are basing this off a small blurb from a KZbin video. The fact that people feel the need to jump to huge conclusions based on so little, let alone with zero context, is worrying. I don't know these people from a pike of dirt but I have been alive long enough to not want to think I could possibly know enough about the inner workings of a family, based on internet videos uploaded in order to earn ad revenue. That opens up all manner of situations and theater which might not represent actual family dynamics.

Mitsy2k I'm autistic - going off my response, I imagine its because she can relate so much to the frustration he's facing ! these parents are so heartless. I plan to adopt kids some day, hopefully I can save some from situations like this and show them a better life

I'm so worried that if things do start going badly for this family they will take it all out on Cody, they'll blame him for losing followers and money and treat him even worse than before. No child deserves to be treated like that, not at that age, and not for stupid KZbin videos.

Also, if I was that poor kid I would do everything in my power to stay away from my family. Why would Cody want to go to Disney world with people that hurt him and make him miserable a lot of the time? He will probably love staying home for awhile without them. Growing up I had an abusive step father and when he went out of town or if I was away from him, I felt an extreme weight lifted off of my shoulders.

OH AND.. the video on twitter of the mother having a "breakdown" and the kids consoling her. THATS NOT A KIDS JOB TO CONSOLE A PARENT LIKE THAT.

accioanna A friend of mine was a child of a single mother. Looking back, *holy shit* his mom had it rough. Emotional, financial, family, and health issues. All that and she never once let him see her sink, see her fumble. To him, she was a solid steel wall that would stand to anything, but still bend down to comfort him. She wasn't a particularly strong woman, she simply did what she felt a mother should. *that* is what an ideal parent is. Unyielding, but not hard. One that could be broken and sharp, yet leaving no scratch on their child. She was an ideal mother. As compared to _that_ -mother- *monster* , she may as well be the highest ideal.

Anonymous 9 it could have been. Of course I'd console my mom too but I'm an adult now. But her screaming and crying in front of her kids over her KZbin channel and the situation these parents have brought on their own family. That's just not on. And who knows what they were saying to the kids at that point. Ie someone tried to run over your mom, were gonna lose our house/money/food etc. a kid shouldn't have to worry about things like that.

I am really feeling heart broken for Cody. To see the emotional abuse and to hear this mother talking about her poor son like that. It just makes me sick and helpless.

Thank you so very much for your videos exposing DO5. I am a former social worker & I am also the adoptive mother of 2 children, formerly in foster care due to domestic violence, parental neglect & drug/alcohol abuse. My sons are now happy, healthy & thriving. However, they each have scars leftover from what they witnessed & were exposed to prior to being removed from their bio parents. It's mind boggling to me that anyone found the DO5 channel entertaining. I literally cried after seeing a few clips. There is no question that these children, especially Cody, were being subjected to verbal, emotional, & physical abuse for profit. I shudder to think what may have occurred when the cameras weren't rolling. You did a VERY admiral thing by bringing light to the situation. Thank goodness you spoke out about it. I applaud you, Philip, on behalf of all child protection workers, foster parents, adoptive parents, & children everywhere who endure such abuse, yet go onto become successful survivors. Bless you!❤️👏🏽❤️

from my experience with CPS as a child I was 12 and one of the questions they ask you is if you play with or draw on the walls with your fecal matter. I asked why they would even ask me that and they said because it's a huge red flag of abuse especially in kids over 3 years of age.

Sew Cat I did some research after my boyfriend forwarded me a video about the family, the two younger children were the stepchildren of the woman, and they are now out of the home and safe and being well cared for with their biological mother.

They are trying to claim the videos are fake and scripted as if Cody's reactions to the pranks aren't surreal and raw. They need to provide evidence, and the channel needs to be taken down. Cody's mental health and well being are at stake whether they'd like to admit it or not.
