Being one and having many family members who are also blue collar workers it relieves me to know people still appreciate what we do. He tries to make it seem satirical too. All the time he'll roast himself about his practices. If you ask me it's all to lessen the negative reception that comes with it. Logan Paul is a child. He admits this. It's why he attracts 12 year olds as his audience. Absolutely fake individual. Everything he does in his vlogs is orchestrated.

The problem with Anita Sarkeesian is that she is routinely guilty of the same behaviours she accuses her detractors of; misrepresenting situations, using her audience as attack dogs on critics, and courting controversy for fame. But he didn't just sit down. If he had just gone to the panel that would have been fine, but he sat in the very front row and bought an entourage. Imagine if someone had been threatening to kill you, or in some way hurt you in some way, (I dont know if he had done that but lets make an example). And they had done that to you everyday for 3 years, and then you go to work and they are at your work, sitting there, smiling at you. It was 100% supposed to be an aggressive and intimidating action. Go to the panel sure but don't try and hijack it to grab attention for yourself and also threaten someone you harass.

I personally think Logan Paul is in the wrong here. Sure, he didn't get invited so he wanted to still show up, but you have to understand the problems that can cause. And it seemed like he wanted to make a huge ruckus with everyone crowding around him. Having hundreds of people running around can be very unsafe for those who are just looking for a good time at VidCon. People could have easily gotten hurt or even trampled on. That's just my opinion.

I definitely agree with you. Wasn't there something similar to this that happened just a year or two ago? Where someone had fans running wild at vidcon for some sort of scavenger hunt, that was so dangerous that they had it shut down? That person back then was in the wrong, and Logan Paul is in the wrong here, too. You would think that even though he wasn't invited, he would've been at least somewhat responsible and tried to look into some of these things first... Oh wait.
@UneasyPeasy

When you become a KZbinr with 5 million plus subs, you gotta think about more than just yourself. There were people who most likely traveled to VidCon just to see Logan. And if you see him, you are going to do everything in your power to interact with him. So now you and hundreds of others are in a stamped to get Logan's attention. Yes, the craziness is partly because of fans, but it is also due to Logan being there to begin with. And all the security sees is someone causing a lot of trouble. He doesn't know who Logan is.

But remember, as someone on that panel, and I believe Francesca Ramsey Also said in a tweet, "You can't expect women to be strong enough to handle criticism on the internet." So they sincerely don't view the sexes as equally capable. I can only assume she thinks like this: an adult(man) hitting a kid(woman) is not acceptable but a kid(woman) hitting an adult(man) is acceptable.

rainynight02 Fran never said that. Being barraged with the level of hate they get is a pretty unique and awful experience. They're definitely stronger than the dudes who express hate for them. And yeah, it's not simply criticism, it's dehumanizing disrespect and cruel digs about their looks and race and and gender, calling them slurs like sluts and cunts and retards and being overwhelmingly misogynistic and insulting their husbands and boyfriends as well as making threats of rape and violence - and this by the cohort with the online power, the popular cool kids/boys, for years and years. Laci's reaction of breaking down and crying when finally confronting one of her primary harassers and letting him know how his disrespect effected her and what his fans had been doing (though he probably knew about a lot of it already) stems from the same place of hurt as Anita's reaction. Crying makes you look more vulnerable and sympathetic and soft but is not the only understandable reaction to have to meeting your bully. You'd think these women were murderers with level of hate and contempt directed their way. It's crazy to me that so few, Phil included, can understand how seeing your biggest tormenter in the audience could upset you. Serious lack of empathy for harassed women who don't act sweet enough here.

It doesn't excuse you from breaking them, but it makes you less of a bad person. These rules aren't really about morality. Giving your fans 3,000 is morally okay whether or not its against or supporting the rules.

Hypothetical example: I came into the VidCon lobby to give people that came to meet me free merch because they already paid $150 for a ticket, and I don't wanna make them pay more. In the result of a stampede, five people were severely injured. The fact of giving your fans 3,000 is morally okay. Creating a dangerous, property-destroying, stampeding mob of 12 to 16 year olds while doing so? Not so much. Especially when you know what the consequences of your actions are going to be in advance. Rules are there for a reason.

I think the one of the most famous examples of a fan doing something in the name of a celebrity; is when John Hinckley tried to kill Reagan for Jodie Foster. another famous example is when Mark Chapman shot John Lennon and started reading Catcher in the Rye. I don't believe either example should be blamed on their respective celebrities, but on the disturbed persons who committed those crimes. The only time that a youtuber should be held responsible is if they explicitly tell fans to do something illegal. If you don't believe these examples don't hold any ground in the argument that youtuber's should be held responsible for what their fans do. I can't think of any other arguments other than those two.

I find it worrying how Logan Paul led the crowd of teens through a fountain then across what looked like polished stone steps, if that isn't a cause for concern I don't know what is. But inciting a mob to cause potential damages to people and property is on him. Reckless endangerment for a viral video.

I think these people need to start using their brain but a crowd draws people it's human instinct. He needs to think about how much danger he put his fans in. It just shows he doesn't care about them or their safety. Having fame needs to come with certain responsibilities. He is responsible for this mob and the harm caused. If we don't place responsiblity on someone for inviting something they purposefully did then we fail as a society. This doesn't mean your responsible when your fans go and harass (or threaten) someone else, unless you tell them to do so and encourage the behavior. This is why you have senators and actors making statements against violence.

In Logan Paul's case I'd say he's at fault. When you know your fan base is a bunch of crazy 12-year olds, you shouldn't pull shit like that. His core fan base would run up to him and scream, whilst your core fan base would say "Hey, it's Phil!" And shake your hand. He's at fault.

I mean i completely agree that he's at fault, he did some crazy stuff that he should've known would cause a ruckus and is exactly what vidcon wants to avoid, but blaming it on what his audience is comprised of isn't exactly fair. Regardless of the age of your largest viewer base, be it 8 year olds or 72 year olds, the creators should be treated equally as if they did the same stuff.

FratinandMadrik I was at Phil's meet-up in London a couple years back and he didn't have security or anything as he didn't think he needed it but yeah, we were all older than 12 but we still crowded him (I was towards the back/middle so I actually was trying to get people to give him space but I'm just one small person) and tried to get a pic/signature, he fled the scene as it was a safety and security risk, which is why eventually he came back and you had to get a pass as he had to pay for security... so no, this just happens with anyone any age who has a large audience, which kinda proves your point even strongly, if (mostly) calm and collected mostly 16-30 year olds can still put Phil in harms way, a bunch of 12 year olds are even worse.

They need to stop inviting these "creators" that make 7 second videos or dance like animals over copyrighted music - and start inviting people that have been at this for a long time and that actually CARE about what they are creating and putting out there online. Anita - nobody FORCED you to go to VidCon -stay home if you can't take the heat - I'm sure there's a ton of other real creators that would have loved to have the opportunity to be invited to VidCon and be on panels. Instead they invite the clowns you see in this video. (Except Phil, he's awesome) -_-

And people like Sargon egged it on all the way... for five fucking years. Look up her name in google or youtube so you can see the extent ignorant people would go to harrass this girl, because she *dared* said she'd give opinion (gasp! Here's a perfect example of cyber bullying and cyber stalking and stalking in real life. Society still doesn't acknowledge how a sociopath can easily start shit online and cause a lot of emotional damage to a person. Then just show up and smirk and just sit there and use their mere presence as a trigger because they KNOW they've already created a hostile atmosphere. This is how sociopaths get their victims to look like the bad guys. I had an asshole at work that would whisper to me sexually harassing things even threatening my job because he was my supervisor. But in public and in front of our department manager, he was all sweet and respectful. He'd even say nice things to my bosses about me. So when i complained about him to HR and my managers, they would shake their heads and thought I was unreasonable. This is how a sociopath works, folks! I have no doubt Anita felt harassed and her feelings are valid. The problem is she needed to keep her cool and fight fire with fire. Wait until he comes up for a question, or one of his Flying Monkeys and THEN logically and reasonably discuss how the online harassment and cyber bullying makes it so hard for her and other women to keep their cool now that their bullies are in front of them acting all sweet and nice. Anita should have requested an apology for specific comments done online. She should have searched her phone for screenshots of online convos and read them out loud during the panel and asked if said parties wanted to apologize. Poor Anita took the bait hook line and sinker.

Harassment or legitimate criticism? Anita Sarkeesian said in one of her first videos, that rescuing a female from kidnappers, for example Mario rescuing the princess in super mario bros, is an act of objectification. Rescuing women from their captors is objectification of women and sexism... From that day onward, she kept trying to top herself with more bat shit insane stupidity, and yes, many people felt the need to point out how bat shit insane her arguments were... She has had her comments section disabled on every single one of her videos, ever since that first video. Anita Sarkeesian does not receive harassment, she receives public backlash for her insane and insulting content which she publishes on the internet. Anita then pretends that this public backlash is misogynistic harassment. I don't know why Phil didn't mention this fact.

Mack TB the only defensive argument for the YT feminists is that the FOLLOWERS of Argon and others may harass them, not the actual YTbers. But yeah, I loath their hypocrisy, lies, safe spaces, and bullying tactics. I like what Morgan Freeman said when asked about racism (while I believe it is not a major issues in America TODAY it exists inside of bad people) he said, " just don't talk about it." and I believe what he meant was that hyper-analyzing a decreasing issue creates a mentality that any unfortunate event that happens to a minority is a result of prejudice. I can't remember the exact name of the event but a black person was shot, and the media outrage was enormous, suggesting that the man was shot because he was black and that it was an example of white supremacy. That was until the information about the cop that shot the man was released and he was Asian.

Something about watching your channel is super soothing to me. It's like you have a super adult true north handle on everything and that's so comforting for some reason. Anywho - I really do believe that we as a society have not adapted to people being "famous" in a "casual" context, like KZbin content creators. It's also different because being social-media famous is built almost entirely though direct interaction with your audience. An actor who has been "handled" and knows they'll create unsafe situations would never walk in a public space like that. It's a new generation of fame, so to speak, and I think everyone is still experiencing growing pains from it and will be for quite some time.

She used unnecessary inflammatory language against someone who, presumably, was just sitting there minding his business. Not sure which side you're taking, but it's worth noting, Sargon has said repeatedly that he does not condone or support in any manner, any form of harassment from his fans, or people acting in his name, against anyone at all. Anita, on the other hand, literally begged people to harass others for her.

I think it's stupid how Anita complains about videos talking about feminist figures. Most of those are countering their arguments. That's not harassment, not misogyny, it's a conversation. That's what debate is about. Anita's arguments are full of holes. She should put her money where her mouth is and seriously respond to these counterarguments with actual facts. Also "shithead"? Real mature.

I see what you're saying, and I'm glad that you would personally attend the panels of someone you've clashed with in order to keep an open mind, but I think you're giving a lot of benefit of the doubt to other people in assuming they'd be the same way. Take as an example, over the last year and a half I've had a particular person harass me across every single social platform on which I'm present - over that period the messages have developed from common or garden creepy, to threatening suicide, to violent/sexually threatening, to just the same innocuous phrase 800+ times over one night, to at least one message every day for the entirety of 2016 and beyond. By the end they were just leaving a single word on any and every post I made anywhere; it in itself didn't mean anything, but (like an anti-safeword) it was the culmination of all of those horrible things that came earlier and served as a deliberate reminder that no matter where I went or what I did I wouldn't be able to escape it. Clearly it's different, but you can see how something which, from an outside perspective, looks harmless can be perceived as immensely threatening with the whole picture in mind. I'm making no comment on whether what Sarkeesian said was just, but I certainly have empathy towards someone who, when feeling understandably vulnerable and threatened (whether that was intended against them or not), reacted with defensive anger.

Yo, I went to VidCon this year (2017) and I did not hear about any of these problems. I was so busy meeting KZbinrs, getting food, and trying not get run over by fangirls

Logan Paul should use his head a bit more. No matter what is your intentions are, stupid is stupid. If you already drawing too much crowd attention and security is trying to escort you off. Don't be an idiot trying to free yourself from security and run off to god knows where. While your fans are following you like a bunch of crazy idiots. Stupidity shall not be tolerated and he have to take responsibility or he will learn nothing. Safety is no.1 priority of any convention.

Man in audience politely asks a legitimate question... gets silenced. Anita gets angry and keeps saying shit... received applause from the crowd. Sounds about right.
