The three Eddsworld main characters as a stance fighter that can change between the three. Tom would be the brawler, as it fits his personality the best, Edd would be the jack of all trades, and Matt could be a jokeish character. I think this would be the best way to add all three characters who are arguably some of the most important indie animated characters.

And a quick warning, if you're hoping for this game to be popular, your fanbase will be fighting game players, who are LEGENDARY for how technical they are, with slang such as: Neutral. Zoning. Jump-in. Reversal. Super. Quarter-circle. Combo notation that looks like 623 2ATK. Blockstun. Hyper armor. And others. If you want, I could help guide you through fighting game mechanics and balance.

As someone with a slight background in the FGC, so far so good! id recommend adding a feature where if a player walks backwards they walk slower (Games like melty blood and Guilty gear do this). Very cool idea!

I just want to give some suggestions for the game feel: Particles on hit Freezeframes on hit Add some up knockback for basic attacks so combos feel stronger and the push more like a push Change the knockback to be a little stronger and stiffer, right now it just looks like the character slides on ice Maybe rotate the character when it's being pushed I can imagine some of these things you have already planned so sorry if it bothers you 😅
