WCCO-TV co-anchors Frank Vascellaro and Amelia Santaniello became empty nesters this year, when their youngest two children went off to college. They are reflecting on news stories they've done with their family over the years.
One of those stories was Amelia's ultrasound, when she was 27 weeks with her first son Sam, who is now 21 years old. She undergoes a series of tests doctors recommend for certain older mothers. Frank, who worked at a competing station at the time, is not featured in the story, but assures the audience he contributed to it!
When Frank joined Amelia at WCCO in 2006, the children were featured in a story. Years later, they did a story about different parenting styles. Amelia jokes that she finally learned to not sweat the small stuff when Sam turned 21.
Frank and Amelia also reflect on stories featuring the kids when they were older, including one about cell phones. How much screen time is too much? Who logged the most screen time in the family? They also document a trip to their son's state tournament basketball game with St. Thomas Academy at Williams Arena in Minneapolis.
Do Frank Vascellaro and Amelia Santaniello ever fight? Find out why Frank no longer stops for coffee on the way to an important event!
