The video I needed when I started my curly hair journey…
I curated this curly hair routine based on advice from curly hair stylists + curl researchers + my personal experience
It’s a bit unconventional and counter-intuitive, so I appreciate anyone who is willing to listen and learn ❤️
My hair was around 2A when I started my journey, and I think I’m at around 3B / 3C now?
Out of all the routines I’ve tried, this has made my curls:
- Less frizzy
- Tighter
- Less reliant on product
- Look better without product
- Softer
- Have ‘Disney hair’ movement
- Improve over time
Here are some of the stylists/creators that I have learnt the most from
1. curlhealer - Acacia, Curly Hair Stylist
2. curlvision - Dusty, Curly Hair Stylist
3. shaiamiel - The Curl Doctor
4. sarahingleofficial
5. blowoutproffesor
Their advice can conflict each other’s, just do what makes sense to you!
⚠️this video is no hate to influencers, they helped me SO much… my problem is with the companies misguiding them to sell products⚠️

GIRL! I JUST USED YOUR HAIRWASHING METHOD AND IM AMAZED BY THE RESULTS. my hair has more movement now, it still got frizzy but im starting to taking care of it now so i know is not a one-night solution. the innersense products are a lil bit pricey for me but one day i will try them. THANK U A LOT for sharing your routine, i was using oil in my ends and i didn't understand why it was so frizzy and i never got a clump well define, I WAS MAKING A HUGE MISTAKE AND I DIDN'T KNOW. THANK U SO MUCH

Thank you so much for this video. I just started learning how to style and care for my curly hair. I used to hate my curly hair because people around me always told me that only straight hair is beautiful and I should straighten it. I was really insecure about my hair. You are a really beautiful person and I want to try to be more confident with my hair and love it more like you. Thank you so much❤️

points to help me :) (heavily based on my hair type) thicker hair- brush your hair when there's conditioner in it, dont brush it before going into the shower, it can be damaging. leave the shampoo in your scalp and ends for a while before washing it off shampoo your hair twice(already doing it lmao), rinse off the shampoo REALLY well start detangling (while conditioner is on) from bottom to top- use your fingers to brush through your hair clumping is a sign of healthiness in your hair- the more your follow this routine, the more clumping you get if your using hair cream, make sure to get every strand of hair and not just the clumps- a lot of water and a bit of product separating clumps and making sure every curl moves on its own is important to not make your hair stiff dry your hair with a towel, in clumping motions and make sure your hair isnt sticking to your scalp to avoid a flat headed look when your hair isnt wet(just damp), use a hair dryer and make sure to focus the air onto the base of your neck area because thats where hair dries the slowest and you want your hair to dry at the same rate having dry hair when you sleep is very important, otherwise when you will develop more dandruff 23:27 tie your hair like this when you go to bed to avoid frizziness

I'm going to try this and pray that my curls come back to themselves. My curls come and go and they really be out here doing their own thing. Since it's started to get colder and wetter in the UK my curls have gone limp and lifeless again, it's a constant battle with the elements I swear 🙄

@@sarahssuperspahey Sarah! I’ve been doing the routine since you’ve posted it and I’m not exaggerating my hair has not looked better. Thank you for sharing this. And to everyone else, try this method! It really works! I don’t have the same products but the technique still works for me and is really gentle on my hair. I love how low maintenance this is with the no styling after. My curls are really individually defined, soft and bouncy. I don’t use any excess products because I have really sensitive and eczema prone skin and my curls last for 3-4 days. Though I still do use oil on my hair usually argan oil during the day and do oil masks now and then. Again, thanks Sarah! 💗

The goal is to make my hair look as healthy as yours when it dries :) Also, do you detangle your curls on the days you don't wash em? (I've got thick 3A curls so I use an afro pick for detangling and I'm wondering if it's bad to mess with them everyday)

I put oils on my hair once a week before getting into the shower because oils help hair to grow and stop the hair fall. What do you think? Also, curly hair method made my hair thicker as well, and I didn't know what I was doing wrong... What I'm doing right now is brushing it dry because if I brush it wet I feel like a lot of hair is falling and also it stays tangled and dirty...

I liked it a lot, but one of the things I don't understand is why you say that oils are bad for curly hair, on the contrary, like argan oil, shea oil, coconut oil, among others, which are even found in creams for curls only. and they nourish your hair, like the Skala brand for example. The other thing is that instead of heating it in your hands, you have to do it directly from the head, that way when the foam comes out it is cleaning your scalp.
