Will the real Ben Dozer please roll out?! What a Behemoth. In this episode of #KZbinGOLD, the first thing I need to do is master the controls in order to get a good cut. My son has now coined #DieselToots as a new explanation of the exhaust system. I need to get some stick time if I am going to clear enough dirt for me to reach my 1/2 oz goal this season. I have a lot riding on this 1/2 oz, and I have already spent a ton of money getting this gold mining operation up and running. There is no shortage of equipment repairs, learning curves, and practice that goes into a huge operation like this.. and if we don't get over those, and start sluicing soon.. we are going to be in trouble.

This has got to be the stupidest thing I've ever heard... it's a toy not to difficult to figure out how to push little sticks back and forth... not even close to comparing it to a full scale rig lmfao
@BigCool95
@BigCool95 6 жыл бұрын
Avis Ordan sure its not hard to push sticks back and forth, but thats not what operating real equipment is. And they have full size D10 dozers that are remote control. No difference between this “toy” and the real thing. This “toy” is just a smaller scale.

Your son is very smart. Him knowing the function of the exhaust for dozer toots, 😆. It's amazing how at such a young age he grasps the concept of things like that. My dad taught me how to build r/c kits when I was a kid. My first kit was a Associated RC10GT in 1992. Such a great hobby for developing mechanical skills and father/son bonding. Keep it up man!

A new full scale Cat D9 costs a million dollars, 1M/14 would be ~$71k, so a working $3k is not a bad deal. Then again I don't know if the scaled down one has at least 30 horse power, so maybe the price is scaled against HP and not size.

That dozer is another level of rc. The way its made to the action's it can perform. My wife orders all the parts for the engine on the full size cat. Think I might ask her what the order number is for the dozer toot toots lol. At the end when you say he is doing the cute thing then he strikes the pose. So cool. Look forward to seeing more videos cheers. Russ 🇬🇧

You joke, but I'm curious now: would it be feasible to use this dozer to level or rip a small garden? It has plenty of power to move dirt, but you don't show how often/quickly it drains a battery. I'm gonna assume it's on 3 cell LiPo. Awesome video dude.
@TheRealRCSparks
@TheRealRCSparks 6 жыл бұрын
Hello Cole. I mentioned in the film that I used one battery. It really depends on how much throttle you are using.. much like anything battery related. The more you use the quicker it drains. The more you push, the more it drains.. but.. from my limited experience - what you see here - I used the machine for 30 minutes solid, on 5500mah 3s. I started with my voltage at 12.54 and charged it at 10.20. As for gardening.. yes, this dozer will rip straight lines on an afternoon with glee ;)

noise is awfull. engine( front) seems light so put weights in that area.. never spin the tracks. never never. tracks ... must not be tight. some sag on top is good.a stick in trackchain can keep stones out of track. The worst thing is a stone/something caught between the shoes. which are hardened on real dozer and will snap break crack if this happens.

I'm sure you've figured it out by now but the dial does not control the ram on the side of the blade, it tilts the blade side to side by using the lifting rams. The fat ram on the side tilts the blade front to back. In the real world when you need to turn while pushing a load that's how you do it, wich ever way you tilt the blade is the way it turns. If you turn using the tracks while pushing it tears up the clutches irl.

Just for fun, I did some number crunching with the model's weight. At 82 lbs × 14 x 14 x 14, it works out to 225,008 lbs for 'real world weight', just based on the model's weight. Cat's web site has the real D10T weighing roughly 155,000 lbs for operating weight. While that's not exactly close to scale for weight, it's actually closer than I had expected. It seems that the smaller a metal model is, the heavier it is when compared with a real world equivalent, as far as scale goes. Anyway, just a bit of useless information, but I was curious, so I thought I'd look it up. I suspect it's probably somewhat 'stronger' than it's real world equivalent as well. Blows me away that you get all that power for a full 38 minutes on what is the equivalent of two phablet batteries.

Hi, As always interesting video. On running the Dozer in real life it was one hand one track and yes it is was hard to get used to it. It would likely be easier to rig a chair and make two arms that go to the controller so you run it more like it was meant to be used in real life. If that sounds hard locate a buddy with the real thing and get him to allow you to play with it, it will make more sense then. that dozer makes me want one for myself! Thanks for your time!

Our kids are so lucky nowadays, as we didn't have these type of toys when I was a kid.

I bought kyosho blizzard a couple years ago witch has a similar layout for the controls. Shaping snow was difficult at first ut I got better at it with some practice. Have fun.

Awesome piece of machinery! Just a heads up RC4WD is just the distributor not the actual maker. Eagle Machinery/JD models are the maker.

They sure are some great rigs .. For 2 of them though.. The truck and the Dozer. Just under $7000 CAD... YIKES ... Glad you are showing them to us.. I know I could never afford them..

Have you or are you considering a modification to the ripper? I mean, getting 1 or 2 more rippers, and making yourself either a 2 or 3 tooth ripper. At 58lbs, that dozer shouldn't have any issues with that size of ripper. I think you'll find, you'd like to keep your current setup, nice to be able to make quick turns, or turning within it's own radius. Awesome video, wished I had the money to start getting these but... "bills" come first. LOL Enjoy the videos, keep 'em coming. Cheers :)

I am sure you have considered this but how about a mini cam in the cab to give you the operator's eye view of the work>
