There are so many young darker skinned Asian girls who are being told not to stay out in the sun or “it’ll affect their beauty.” I’m Filipina-Canadian and I kid you not, I only realized in uni that I can be in the sun as long as I want bc I was conditioned to think otherwise growing up

Personally I’d like to see ‘Clean Beauty’ and ‘Black Owned’ brands specifically with there own isle. Yes! It is this important, we all know that the beauty industry itself is a multinational, multidimensional, multimillion dollar industry that has and will be around forever. Not to mention what it has and is bringing to CVS alone. Show us how much we are appreciated, valued and of importance. Not to mention that you not only want our business as a consumer, you want and need it (out coins) as well.

I would like to see more vegan & cruelty-free brands (with a wide array of shade ranges in ALL their products, of course) in drug stores like CVS. Haven't bought or worn makeup in a year, but more recently when I did shop for makeup, I went to Walmart or Meijer's makeup sections for makeup brushes & other tools because they had brands like EcoTools & e.l.f. to choose from. But I never purchased actual makeup from there the way I used to when I was younger & didn't know any better & didn't know my foundation was too orange for my darker skin.

This is called "having a seat at the table". So so proud of you. You are a trailblazer, in just one more way on top of the rest!! Things I'd like to see in the drugstore, that CVS could actually fix and influence: Better overhead lighting in the color cosmetics aisles, to properly be able to check against our skin tones. Bringing back those old school plastic translucent "swatch" cards to be able to test colors without sanitation concerns. This would be amazing not just for foundations, but for blush, bronzer, lipsticks, nail colors, even cool eyeliner colors. Box/hang card packaging. A little sticker seal keeping the lipstick closed isn't going to cut it anymore, post-pandemic. Anyone could have opened and reclosed it, "just to check the color". Hell, I've done it. Tamper-evident packaging needs to be standard. Bring back the sales consultant at a counter in the beauty aisle, who can offer samples, testers, swatches, etc for products where a plastic "swatch" isn't practical. Those folks can be so helpful, and even drive sales. Avoid tech-based solutions like smart mirrors and try-on apps. We know they don't work, and for us who haven't that learned yet, they're just a distracting gimmick. Sephora's shade matcher camera came close to being useful, but it turned out to be pretty inaccurate much of the time. And sell more tools! High quality mirrors and good little travel bags are a great, "practical" impulse buy.

Congratulations Nyma. You are needed in the drugstore. I never go into drugstores for make up because they have nothing for me. The foundations are not foundating, the bronzers are not bronzing, even the eyeshadow is giving ashy. All of my eyeshadow I have to order online and from Indie brands because Indie brands seem to get that we don't need three ashy bone coloured mattes in every pallet. So you being in this position is a God send. Don't feel bad about neglecting your KZbin channel you did KZbin to open doors and get opportunities and now that you have this opportunity your job has been done, get out there and shake up the beauty world and come back here and say hi every once in awhile LOL. 🙌🏿💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐🥳 congratulations again 💕

Glad you’re doing this, thank you! I have high testosterone for an afab, and have always had some redness/pinkness in parts of my face. I also have chin whiskers. My skin tone naturally has a warm yellowy orange undertone, but with places that are quite reddish on my cheeks and nose and such. I find that the vast majority of make up is designed to look nice with one very even skin tone. Sometimes I wear face make up and when I do, most products look great on me. I see having the red and the yellow in my skin as a real asset! It makes me versatile. Warm and cool colors both work. But, I don’t like wearing foundation that often. It’s a lot of work, it’s expensive, I don’t like how it feels, or how it effects my skin, or how it rubs off on everything. I am not looking for products to “fix” these problems. I just don’t want to wear foundation all of the time. when I don’t wear foundation, a lot of lip and eye products don’t look good on me. I’d love to see lip and eye products that work with skin that isn’t one even, consistent color. I’d like to see pictures of people with uneven skin tones looking lovely. One solution I’ve found lately is Korean beauty. The lip colors for example tend to be a lot more complicated, with more than one undertone. And a lot of products are a little bit sheer, they don’t have that super opaque titanium white base. So some of my skin color always comes through, and makes products look like they suit me even with all my skin colors. I know there are other solutions out there. And I know there are a lot of reasons people can have a variety of skin tones on their face. I think a lot can be done in this area, I think there’s a lot of unexplored beauty in make up that leaves the skin unchanged. Thank you for asking for my opinion!

Omg congrats Nyma, this is HUGEE!!!! You are perfect for this role!!! I always shop for makeup at the drugstore, and especially CVS. I think we are seeing great strides with the shelf displays showing unretouched models in the makeup. I would LOVE to see deeper shades for people in the clean/hypoallergenic beauty space. For me and my sensitive skin, I started leaning toward more hypoallergenic makeup and makeup with less chemicals and I noticed a lot of "greenwashed" cosmetic companies are also extremely white washed (there are light to medium foundation shades and bronzers, and zero deeper shades). This is a HUGEE space where inclusivity can start to show up for the customers! Congrats!!!! Again, you are perfect for this role and it is amazing to see someone make great strides in the beauty space outside of KZbin!
