I know it doesn't mean anything to anyone else and you probably don't believe me when I say this, but I totally got it right! Watching the Vsauce leanback I noticed that the guys hand movements didn't match up with the camera and if he was still filming, there is no way there would be the delay, the wrapping paper almost fooled me by once I noticed the hand movement =/= the camera movement, I know where to look! Still very cool though!

I got it right too but I wasn't serious about it. I mean, I wasn't really trying, I just thought "it might be a fake mirror", probably because I was somehow reminded of the Marx Brothers' film "Duck Soup" which has a similar scene.

Rinyotsu I noticed that it wasn't synching perfectly too, the camera also seemed like it wasn't identical to the movements of the "mirror", like it was off center.

I did not notice the environment differences, but I did notice that the camera that we are looking through was panning a little faster than the guy in the other room.

I got this from the inconsistencies in the 'reflection's' movement and the camera's angles. I'm not observant enough to notice differences in environments.

I get the whole illusion, but at 2:07 why isn't the cameraman of the picture on the right not showing in the left image, which is showing the real phone recording? and at 2:12 the left and right images - both shot from the same side (because the mirror frame is only on one side, and the roll of paper leaning against it is on the same side) - show his legs in different positions (in one they're crossed)... I'm not sure if I'm right or confused! :-)

Also, if you look at his hands when he's 'touching the mirror', he's holding the camera with his left hand. Which means his right hand is touching the mirror. But the camera shows this hand on the left part of the screen, however it should be on the right hand of the screen. That's what tipped me off that the mirror was fake.

yeah, the timing of the movements were slightly off but I thought that was because of the phone cam, the frame of reference was poor because it was handheld. and the mirror had no imperfections and offered a perfect HD reflection which was kinda weird on KZbin, home of a million video compression artifacts.

the most obvious giveaway hint to me was at the very end, his feet. Left foot was closer to the mirror, but in the image, it was further away (without u making any moves). I thought you gave it away on purpose though, since you actually filmed both the image and real one's feet at the end. Nice marketing video anyhow.

I knew everything about this trick except for how he made the phone disappear, and once I found out I laughed hard. The phone disappearance was by far the most tricky thing about the video. XD I watched it ten times and still couldn't figure it out.

Am I the only one to notice, that while the sign SAMSUNG on the phone appears mirrored in the picture, both the letters S are not mirrored? They look just like regular S, unlike other letters. Is this a flaw, or was it made on purpose, as a hint?

plug in the usb that came with the camera and hook it up to the pc, turn your camera on and movie the avi files to your computer.

I thought it was weird how the camera in the 'mirror' was moving quicker than the video. But, since my computer has been lagging a lot with videos for the past week I just summed it up to my computer being.. laggy, hahaha

I noticed it when after he loses the camera the angle changes but the man's hands don't. I thought that there was no mirror and they were twins but then I thought it was unlikely to get the same furniture and have the guy and they girl have twins.

I realized something was off when he moved his hand over the camera, you see the camera lens being cover with his hand for a split second ,which couldn't happen if that phone was the same source for the video.

Also when he went close to the mirror it looked like a walk way not a mirror and when he turned the camera it took the guy holding the camera a bit too long to react(a couple milliseconds longer than the actor)

Additionally, for the mirrored part of the video, the recorded reflection should have the lens in the dead center of it unless shooting at an angle. Being too far off centered made me think of a second lens.

So, has anyone called them on the 'lie' that the video is unaltered or edited? They edited the video's audio track - that helps to sell who's holding the camera as well as the visuals. (and they added music) Other than that, the fake mirror is a old trick - no real surprise there.

I only noticed those S letters, but I guessed right from the start that it was a mirror thing. I witnessed something like that myself during the shooting of a film I was part of a crew once.

well, I understood that there's no mirror as soon as that guy turned left. In the reflection the camera already had started turning, but the camera that took the shoot hadn't started turning. That's it :)
