I don't see what's the problem with older videos being shown. I've seen a whole lot of good skits, animations, and short film from independent creators from 9 years or 13 years ago. And personally as a small content creator, I would love my older videos to get recommended. But then again, I would love my videos to get recommended at all. As long as it's actually related to the type of content you like to watch.

Wanna know an absolutely scummy thing that KZbin did to me? someone donated 10 dollars on my live stream which was a really cool thing because I don't get donations very often, then KZbin takes over half of the revenue of that donation. I kept $4.90 of the 10 dollars. The fact KZbin takes money from donations in the first place is absurd but then they take over half?!?!?! Like if they are doing this to every content creator there has got to be a way to sue KZbin.

My channel took off in 2012 and went thermonuclear by 2014. The bane of my existence was "made for kids". Some of my best performing videos that made hundreds or thousands of dollars a month based on my passion for comedy and superhero movies, nuked from orbit overnight. My only saving grace is that some of them have women in costumes too sexy to call it made for kids. The algorithm spontaneously decided certain of my videos are "made for kids" obliterated my ability to earn a living on here.

The biggest sham with KZbin is the fact that they removed the dislike button count. That used to save so much of my time. Now I watch horrendous videos just to not get the information that I was searching for in the first place. Plus now all of ads are getting out of control. Used to be 1 at the beginning. Now it’s at least a dozen ads in a 10 minute video. KZbin does absolutely suck.

Here's my honest thoughts, take it or leave it. I love your editing style and voice, you have a really unique persona that doesn't rely on hyperbole. With general negative state of the world I've skipped some of your videos lately because the tone has turned to "Everything sucks." Not saying you have to pretend everything is sunshine and rainbows, but you're really leaning into the negative. There is an audience for that, but as someone who found you for your more casual content, another person telling me the world is falling apart is not what I came here for. every cut, every keyframe, every fade in/out, every scrolling shot, this is the corner of youtube I love, but sadly will never "garner enough impressions" to make a true living. This shit takes true effort, there is genuine love behind on that timeline, yet youtube feels so damn dead. I'll sink hours into a video just for it to get limited ads for being myself. I miss old youtube, I miss long form, I miss when people would just post what they truly want to post and not worry about, "is this thumbnail centered right?" "Is this intro too long?" I agree, that we most certainly are "curating our life". The way i see it is, that I'm making videos, for the grand-children that I'll possibly never get to meet and know. I've never been "successful" on YT. Mostly cuz i just didn't, what i didn't know. And...I finally launched my new KZbin Channel for a brand i created called: WORK HARD PLAY HARD in May of this year. Now, I'm a very slow-learner. I do eventually "get it". But I'm no rabbit, I'm more of a tortoise. Very humble beginnings, indeed. My initial idea was to just turn on the camera, with me in it. (period) And i did! However, after the 4th upload featuring myself...i became perplexed with not really wanting to be "the guy" on camera all the way through. AND, i have a result that I'm trying to achieve...and want to be as authentic as possible, at the same time offer value to anyone that happens to click on my videos. A few months passed since the 4th and last upload, but i THINK i have found a formula for my brand that now adds value. Just uploaded the 1st. The thumb should be very easy to spot. 👍✌👊

I was in my teens, when youtube was introduced to the world. I grew with it and saw a lot of changes throughout the last 20 years (it's crazy that youtube had survived for so long, while many other platforms vanished from existence in the same time). Some changes were for the better and some changes for the worse (especially those, made in the last 5 years). Small youtubers has it now harder getting any recognition and make any money without tricking the system/algorithm, while following all guidelines, that were made in the last couple of years. The sad part is, there is almost no good alternatives to youtube (a lot, that tried, failed miserably throughout the years), But my hopes are not lost, to find a good alternative, because youtube/google has lost their minds and aren't worth my time anymore.

Genuinely thank you for making this video. I already knew how much youtube was turning into rot, but this gave me more insight on it and showing that youtube makes you do these things to be successful. Doing stuff like that to get viral and make money when its not something you want to do isnt what youtube should be all about. I myself have been trying to find ways to go viral and make money but i see now that that shouldn't be what its all about so im going to start creating the content i want to make and edit it the way i want and just have fun with it and not worry so much about views and money.
