I like collaboration videos. Thank you. The item I use most that was influenced from KZbin is the Nitecore NU25 headlamp with the bungie cords (from Litesmith). It is super lightweight, dependable, easy to use, long lasting and fast charging, with 3 brightness levels and 2 red levels. Along with hiking and late evening neighborhood walks, it's great for the rummaging through the attic, working on the car, etc.

Oh wow, so many pieces of gear I bought because of KZbin. Favorites, my Pocket Rocket Deluxe, Dutchwear folding sit pad, my BeFree, and the Seeker 3 liter bag. One company I feel gets overlooked in the backpacking communities is Klymit. My Static V2 is only a pound. My Insulated V Luxe SL is very comfortable at 3 inches thick, and warm even in sub zero F conditions.

Nice video. Always nice to see/hear about gear. KZbin has "made" me buy gear for day hiking, backpacking, fishing, hunting and bush crafting. Gear buying seems almost addictive , huh? Watching Darwin, Dixie and others, I have purchased the Sawyer Squeeze, Micro Squeeze and Mini and the BeFree water filters. Recently purchased two CNOC Vecto 2 L bags. Pair them with the Sawyer Micro Squeese for a gravity system (great). Like the Micro Squeese on top of Smart Water bottle for my pack (compact fit and decent flow rate). Merino wool Buff (for cold head and holding inflatable pillow from slipping). Leukotape Tape (haven't tested yet). Hiker Hunger Trekking Poles - Kate Cloud, aka Feathers. And, many other items. I tend to pick the gear I thinks matches the hike/trip I am going on - or just what I like at the moment.

Fantastic Video! I bought lots of gear because of KZbin and I have quite a lot on my Amazon Wishlist still.. Thing is, all the Thruhiker gear is mighty expensive!!! I am a section hiker. But I do like camping and car camping so I try to stay light and multi use, but not extraordinary expensive. I would love to see more of this kind of content!!

Same. I don't have lightweight thru hiker gear, as tempting as it is to get, I just simply cannot afford it. So I'm middle of the line, section hiker, typical base weight of around 16-20 pounds.

I bought the CNOC because of you tube and the jury is still out. Almost every time I have spilled water on myself because I haven”t threaded something properly or haven’t put the sliding lock on properly. I also have smaller hands so it is difficult for me to open the top with one hand to let the water flow in. I’ll try again over this summer, but I bought a hydropack to go with my katadyn and that so far is easier.

Thanks for the video. One thing I got on Darwin's budget recommendation: HydroBlu Versa Flow filter (Sawyer copycat). Similar to Sawyer but works better, e.g., threaded at the outlet end for backflushing without syringe. It has worked well for me. A thing that didn't work very well: the CNOC 2-liter water bag. I sliding clip is hard to get on and off and it leaks around the threads. Definitely not trustworthy for carrying water on the trail, but it is ok for collecting and filtering water into other containers.
@HikeOregon3 жыл бұрын
I agree with the slider on the Vecto bag. It’s very hard to open and if I fill it too full I end up spilling water when I try to open the bag because it’s so difficult to slide.
@LadySekhmetDJ3 жыл бұрын
Do you have an older version of this? I had the same problem and it’s a known issue with 2019 version where there’s a notch on the threads that’s leaking. I did not have an issue on my first backpacking trip, but did have an issue after a year of being in storage. It was very odd. I contacted CNOC since it was under a year old, and they gave me the 2020 version that works SO much better.
