No idea how it changed on its own over night to be stuck on display but the video helped! I had already tried force closing it but that wasn't the cause. Had to change the accessibility to device settings because for some reason it was set on "never". Thanks for the help!

Some accessibility instructions pop out of nowhere that I was tempted to click 'Never' and then for no reason i dealt with this dark screen i can't get rid of by pressing any parts of the screen, except only at the exact 'x' close button, what a hassle! I even lost on what to search on fixing this as "youtube dark screen" was on my mind and that is talking about some other jammed screen prob. Thank God after months I finally found it, still the same youtube dark screen search but one of the suggestions below came up with the word "pause" at the end which was the real prob and i finally found the right path to fix it! Surprisingly no matter the duration you choose on the timeout, you can still off the overlay black screen by pressing any parts of the screen. But there's just something classic with 'Never' that won't do it that way, except only at the x, irony!

I'm having an issue with the screen on youtube I can't get the pause button off of my screen ro watch a video and I need to know how to get my screen bigger like the quality of the number of how big I want my screen.

First you need to locate settings by clicking your profile in the upper right hand corner of the main screen. Click on "Settings", then click on "General", then select "Zoom to fill screen" that might work

Thanks for this helpful guide. KZbin accessibility controls remained onscreen after I installed Android Reading Mode to cut down on all the ads and nonsense while reading articles in Google News. Nowhere did the app mention that it would affect KZbin.

Thanks for this! Unfortunately, your suggestions didn't completely solve it for me though. YT Shorts still showed non-dismissable buttons. However, i did discover eventually which accessibility app was causing this issue for YT Shorts specifically on my device: Google Action Blocks. I think the interfaces for switch controls in Action Blocks is the issue. I reported it to KZbin. Good luck to others who are frustrated by these issues! Please also send YT your own feedback if you have frustrations!! 🤝

I don't see why KZbin would make that do that when it's turn on. There is no reason for anyone to want it to stay on the whole time
