For people in chat saying Tebebe was "fcked up" by meds and stuff, it's completely normal for schizophrenics to deny reality and think that meds are bad for them and unnessecary, that's part of the illness. So what do you want to do if such a person is a danger to himself AND society? Put him in prison? No other way than to give him antipsychotics

The first video gives me chills. Last year, we caught a guy on our camera coming to our house during 2am-3am that would knock and just stand there. Eventually he ended up calling the police and told them we had killed someone inside. Police came and saw that we were fine, but this guy would come by again and again asking for a woman that did not exist and kept claiming we were hurting her. Eventually we had to put in a bar from the property, and we haven’t seen him since.

He's not lying, antipsychotics do make you feel half dead. I'm prescribed a low dose for sleep and feel groggy basically everyday. I couldn't imagine taking 5x the amount for actual mental health issues. He clearly needed it though Edit: pls stop giving psych advice lmao, man's fine

Absolutely, they should be the last resort, I also had a similar experience with them. After about a week my family couldn't look at me in a zombie-like state anymore so I got off of them and found medication that fit me better.

​@Schizoposter™ different people react differently, which is why its extremely hard to find the right medication for someone. same goes for antidepressants. sure some effects stay more or less consistent for different people, but in the end its a lot of "educated guessing" and trying out until you find the medication that fits someone

One of my biggest fears albeit probably irrational cause it'll likely never happen is being wrongly committed, forced on drugs then when i get rightly frustrated and upset and potentially violent out of distress they use that as a justification to keep me there on drugs.

It is something impressive how people have captured so many things through cameras and they are currently on the internet, these dark videos on KZbin are very interesting to analyze since we can see how people have very big problems and try to show that not everything is happiness , there are also problems, it is true that these dark videos make you analyze the personality of people, but it is so that you can improve and not fall into the same thing. 😐

I watched this one example and that is enough for me. Better a little of this than watching the news every day. Just don't stare into the abyss for too long, nothing good can come of it. I can see how people might get fascinated by the darker fringes of the mind, but it's not good for you. The people that do this professionally have a carefully laid out backup system they must follow to even be allowed to do their job.

Facts.. my brother has schizophrenia and one time had an episode while I was crashing at his place. He thought his girlfriend was coming down stairs in the middle of the night having sex with me and he literally wanted to kill someone. Thank the lord though that someone is watching over him and he acknowledges his problems and knows he's mentally ill, he's just got to fight through it. Funny enough ever since he stopped taking his medication. I noticed a change in his aggression, like he seems a lot more chilled out now unlike before, I also by no means telling anyone to get off their medication for their mental health problems, speak to a doctor or someone about it because it is dangerous.

Because I've seen many in the comment section commenting on their personal struggles I can't help but recommend "therapeutic ketosis" which is a diet used to treat epilepsy and other extreme physical/mental conditions. Regular keto may also work, just not as well. It's worth a shot as there's NO side effects and could treat other issues you could be dealing with like; weight, lactose intolerance, frequent sickness, etc. and has been lab researched a ton.

The second guy felt he was “forced” but he more then likely got 302 which means the drs are making him stay. The problem is he obviously has mental Illness and stopping risperdal and haldal isn’t good. I have been hospitalized 5x for homicidal/suicidal tendencies. I’m diagnosed acute manic bipolar, skitzo affective, and psychotic tendencies but I finally got on meds that work for me. Stopping meds will throw someone worse then they were before. Luckily I’ve taken my meds consistently for years and it’s been almost 10 years since my last time being locked up. I was 302 every time I got locked up.
