How do you have the sound playing in the background, because when I add the sound it just plays and you can't hear my voice, even when I turn it down....I've seen other shorts with this but can't figure out.

They currently don’t allow a volume change on this, but since they copy TikTok, I’m sure that’s coming soon. For now, use it to show something interesting relevant to your niche while playing the music. Like a 15 second music video that shows something interesting or cool that’s relevant to your other content.

@@DeeNimmin I tried a while back and realized that's how It was. It wasn't like tik tok, so I would just use a sound in the inshot app and just uploade to shorts. Today after watching your video I went to check the feature out and I realized some videos had the music in the background. Was wondering how they did it.

When you create a short, don’t add the sound on the first screen. Click the check button and then hit the sound button on the next screen this will put the music in the background instead of replacing your audio.

It's been a month so maybe you already figured this out but you could always make the video on PC, then email it to yourself. Open the email on your phone, then download the video. Then you'll have the option to upload that video and select viral music through the app.

This won’t currently work for talking head style as they don’t allow you to turn the volume down (yet). Use it to show something cool or interesting.

Dee, two questions (and this may serve as content for another video): 1) Music: As a musician, is there any benefit to making music tracks specifically for KZbinrs to use, free? (I’m not even sure how to go about getting this into the KZbin list). 2) KZbin Shorts: Would it be a good idea to cover a specific topic in your Shorts? This way your viewers would know what to expect with your Shorts vs long-form videos. My idea was (as a guitar channel) to use Shorts for my motivational chats. I’m known for throwing in this type of chats in my videos, so it’s something they’d expect from me but perhaps the Shorts would be just that. Hopefully that makes sense and thank you for the content! BTW, I was lead to this video from your other video…great strategy!

Can a music promotion channel utilize this option? If so how? This would benefit any trendy song any music promo channel posted and would also help music channels that curate artists since people could use the music for shorts. Hopefully this isnt just for major mainstream VEVO artists to gain more plays

The sound of any video can be used, so long as they turn on the option to allow you to use the sound. It's not just a VEVO thing, but I'm sure the major channels and labels will dominate trending for music. That said, you never know. If you're promoting other people's music, then I'm not sure this would work well unless you're just showing videos of the artist and not playing their music.
