Sean, I rewatched that video where you interviewed a guy who works at Dave Ramsey. That's the strategy I want to try. He basically said that you can look at your highest performing videos and look at your retention graph and find the best moments and make clips. Then, take the best moments from the clips based on the graph and make shorts. He also said that shorts viewers do get recommended their long form content if they engage well with it. But he said the caveat is that for your shorts strategy to work for you in this way and be a feedback loop you should at least be posting them daily. And repurposing ensures that they align with your long form content.

Thank you so much, Sean! We have a faceless channel and have been watching you since we started early this year. It's been disappointing to experience slow growth. We are constantly uploading, improving and experimenting. We tried our first short today and we got more action in a few hours than we have in weeks! We even got a sub, which has been a challenge for us. We understand the pro's and con's you outlined and it now makes total sense. We think people get value out of our messages, but it seems they prefer shorter content. We have a clear strategy now thanks to you. You are by far our most trusted source for growing our channel and we are truly grateful. God Bless You!

KZbin long-form is still how I make money at the end of the day. No matter how flashy other platforms and shorts are, I’ll still spend most of my efforts on long-form content on KZbin.

We got over 51,000 subscribers in 6 months due to a combination of long videos and shorts. Your channel has to work both forms of content to become successful. What it the strategy for faceless videos shorts or long form?
@CJsTakes13Ай бұрын
I use shorts to point to my long form vids. BUT recently I am using shorts to help the "algorithm" find my audience. The algorithm has been suggesting my long form vids to the WRONG audience for a while. Something somewhere the algorithm started thinking my channel was a wildlife documentary channel. IT IS NOT! My channel is an automotive repair and vlog type channel. (Not this channel. I only upload from my actual channel and surf YT with this channel to try and help the algorithm stay focused. It has helped) So recently my last few shorts have gotten thousands of views, and in the last 28 days I've gained 100+ subs. The algorithm is actually continually giving impressions and suggesting to the correct audience and my long forms are starting to move up as well. So I think this will help me get to 1k subs by the end of the year and hopefully my long form vid's will start to add to my 4k watch time needed. Just going to stick to my shorts being related to my channels niche and hopefully the algorithm is FINALLY getting to know who I am. Hope this helps someone struggling as I am (was). Good luck to everyone with the dream of being a full time YT'r. You got this!!
@MarketinginhereyesАй бұрын
I feel like shorts are more important early on to get you attention and your first 1000, but really turns into low effort (hopefully from repurposing) organic brand awareness to catch your true ideal audience that’s a short watcher that also watches long form.
