I paused KZbin tv in order to try Hulu to see if it was any better than I remembered, and IMO it was not. KZbin tv's UI is much cleaner, and has none of the constant buffering I encountered on Hulu. Add to that KZbin tv's programmable live guide and I just like KZbin tv MUCH better.

I vote KZbin TV but only because the number of players you can link is 3 in the basic package which is more similar to a realistic single family household. Also I find KZbin TV's channel guide is much more user friendly and "cable-esque" and probably deserves consideration. Last, but not least, I think youre overlooking how much better KZbin TV is paired with a premium youtube account. You have the largest repository of ad free content available (with the same download features as Hulu) and 90% of content you have on Live TV is uploaded and shared by users in quasi legal uploads within minutes of air. So I really dont think you need a "DVR feeature" with streaming apps at all. It seems sort of like using a horse driver to drive a car. And of course the VOD and free movies to subscribers are far superior on youtube proper anyway. Just my thoughts you asked for.

For those still confused about 4K. 4K is NOT available on Hulu Live TV. None of the live channels stream in 4K. The on demand shows and movies do stream in 4K however. But only a few shows/movies and on a select devices. Hulu Live Tv = NO 4K Hulu = Yes 4K, select few shows/movies on a few devices.

@@_al_7210 Yes It's true and to me KZbin TV is terrible to even offer 4K at all to begin with. No live TV streaming services offer 4K but there are streaming apps that do offer some movies In 4K and If you have prime video or vudu they also offer some movies In 4K not a lot but some.

I tried them all and my personal favorite is directv stream. The ospray box with remote is what did it for me. I’m able to channel surf which is nostalgic plus I can get regional sports if I’m willing to shell out a little extra for the preds in the fall. Also, you get both the A&E and AMC networks.

Does yours not have picture break-ups in the DVR occasionally? Freezing streams where you can fast forward past the glitch and keep watching? Recordings missing beginnings and or endings of shows?

I did not like DIRECTV steam. I run most my apps through the Xbox on my TV and DIRECTV steam died not have an app for Xbox or my smart TV. So fixing to stream from my app on my phone to the TV was a pain

I also have been trying to figure out recently what streaming service would be the best choice, KZbin TV or Hulu Live TV. We have been with Comcast Xfinity a number of years for internet + cable and we are tired of their excessive and constantly increasing prices, as well as the bogus fees they charge like Broadcast TV fee and Regional Sport Fee. I’ve had Hulu now for a month with a free trial and my first payment is coming up. So far I’m learning how to use it and I like it, but most of what I enjoy is the live TV channels. The only channel that Hulu is missing that is making me want to switch to KZbin TV is the game show network. I really enjoyed family feud and it’s not available on Hulu. I just hate the fact that I’ll have to learn how to use KZbin TV. All this technical stuff is a little confusing for me. I wish Hulu would just add game show network.

Most of the apps that include free, ad-supported channels like Pluto TV, The Roku Channel, or Xumo have a good selection of game shows including “Game Show Central” which is kind of a lite version of Game Show Network. Could be a good alternative if you don’t want to switch!

KZbin TV would have to totally re-work how they do things for me to ever come back. When I pause something, it's not in the same place when I return. Was binge-watching a show I had recorded. The whole season was there before I started. When I got to the last 2 episodes, they had disappeared and they wanted me to pay for them. Outraged!

The average user is going to want to know how well the service matches the traditional cable tv look. Do they have the same channel guide? Do they have an easy way to go to the different channels you want to watch or do you have to scroll through endless icons on the screen? The average user will also want to know the quality of the service. Does it buffer, is there a spinning arrow on the screen, does the sound stutter? We all have experience with the quality problems of youtube where it stutters, freezes, buffers, etc. Are the other streaming services any better? Also what about the ease of signing up? I tried signing up to youtube free trial and could not do it, the website would just freeze when I tried to submit. In a situation like this is there a customer service that is easy to access?

Hi, I am fairly new to streaming and have been very happy with KZbin TV, until... I traveled to our vacation home in upstate NY. It is 3 hours' drive from our house in central PA. When I tried to access most of the KZbin TV content, I learned that it was unavailable. All I could do was record a show and watch it when I got home. I'm very unhappy about this, and about ready to cancel my subscription. Do you have any recommendations as to how to work around this problem? Does Hulu TV do the same thing?

My KZbin Tv freezes at least once a day and the only way to get it working again is to turn the TV OFF and then turn it back on. This all started a couple of months ago. My Firestick is up to date, my YT software is up to date, my router has been reset many times but it continues to freeze. YT customer service is ZERO help.

Have you noticed KZbinTV throttles HD down for Live Sports from 1080p to 720p, even on channels which are in 1080p for other content? Is this being done to nudge viewers into paying for 4K?!

Everybody's streaming needs are different. While I may like the fuller library of older movies and tv shows that Hulu offers, I need 3 screens and my wife MUST have her Hallmark Channels. Starting at $5 more, Hulu's at $70 + $10 just to get the 1 more screen I need + $7 to stream Frndly to get my wife's Hallmark channels. Hulu would cost me $87 per month verses KZbin Tv at $65: That is a $22 or 33% saving per month with KZbin Tv which offers 3 screens and Hallmark for $65 + my wife wouldn't have the inconvenience of flipping between Hulu and Frndly apps regularly. If Hulu offered added the Hallmark channels and only 1 more screen to its base package, I'd be a customer today at $70

In my case, I have KZbin TV now AND a $20 / mo Hulu subscription anyway to get the DisneyPlus, no ads bundle. If I switch to Hulu Live TV then I would save the $20 per month extra subscription since that's included in the $75 bundle. That tips the scale towards Hulu Live but I am concerned about the 4K content and 5.1 sound. I can't determine who's is better ...

Hulu+ Live TV can work on 2 screens at a time ($10/mo for unlimited), KZbin TV on 3 ($20/mo for unlimited). As for outside of the house, it gets complicated. KZbin TV is way more lenient in this regard. Tried Hulu + Live TV and my sister (who lives in another zip code) got the live TV functionality locked and I had to call them to get it unlocked again. Never had issues with KZbin TV. It might pop up and let you know you're watching outside of your home region and that you might not have access to certain local channels, but it doesn't prevent you from watching everything else. The lady I spoke with at Hulu said that the live TV functionality will lock to your home IP address and if it detects a new IP that isn't in your home zip code it will lock the live TV functionality and you'll have to call them to unlock it again.

That's what I'm mostly looking into as well. I'm fairly sure they're equal in that they both have the major channels on which the games are broadcasted on. If you're looking to save money, Sling TV has options where you can get only the sports channels for like half the price of these two.

KZbin TV seems to be the only one with College Football in 4K. Not all games but most of the big ones. Of course, they charge an extra $20 for that .. Fubo also is known for having a lot of sports but I haven't used it enough to comment.

How about picture quality comparison? I am on Directv (Satellite) and am trying KZbin TV and it's pretty bland in comparison on my 75" 4KTV. Not terrible but not great. I know no streaming service will compare to DirecTV in terms of PQ but if Hulu is better than KZbinTV that may make my choice. I can get the AMC+ App separately during TWD season. Just can't try it out without a free trial.

ja, I actually spoke with Hulu customer service about a month ago on this subject because I already have espn+ subscription that I paid a year on and they said unfortunately they don't offer a prorate if you already use one of their other services- so in my case, they wouldn't cut the monthly price since I already have espn+. If you're paying monthly for the disney bundle, you'd want to cancel that before signing up with Hulu Live Tv so you aren't charged for the Hulu subscription and the disney bundle as well. Otherwise, if you paid for a year in advance, I'm not sure if that's possible with Disney bundle but if it is, then you may want to wait till that subscription's run out or nearly so, before signing up.

For me HULU is the best option I have kids so Disney+ is a no brainer plus the almost seamless intergration of ESPN+ into the HULU menu screen means you dont have to switch between the apps. Though you still have to for Disney its not a big deal, its just nice if a game you are watching on ESPN+ is at halftime you can switch to a game on HULU without exiting the APP. The only thing making me contemplate youtube is the Sunday Ticket from NFL.

I tried all streaming services and I really like sling and Hulu tv what I don’t like about KZbin tv is not all the movies are watch now you have to record them then when it comes on then you can watch them. The Verizon deal doesn't include Live TV and there's not way to upgrade without forgoing their discount. If I was in your situation, I'd probably get KZbin TV until the Verizon deal expires and then switch over to Hulu + Live TV.

Does the KZbinTV allow you to go directly to a channel? On Cox Cable, if I want ESPN, it is Channel 15, so I can type 15. How do I do that with KZbinTV? Or, do I have to scroll through every line to get to the channel I want?

An important note is that no live channels are in 4K on Hulu + Live TV, only on-demand content. On KZbin TV, the 4K package allows you to stream live channels in 4K. Big difference in that regard, but mostly depends on if you plan to utilize on-demand content more than live content.
