I think that canister was carbon dioxide, not air. That stuff comes out literally freezing, almost -110 degrees F at the nozzle. You can get frostbite, thermal shock, asphyxiation, etcetera for being in a situation like what he subjects to these people, especially if he is "accidentally" too close and does it for "accidentally" too long. It's literally pointing a fire extinguisher at someone. It extinguishes fire because there is no oxygen. Just like most fires, we need oxygen to survive, so the lack of oxygen would be dangerous. On the topic of thermal shock, spraying a lot of water on someone, especially when it's very hot or very cold outside, still has the ability to put someone in thermal shock, even more so than spraying them with a carbon dioxide canister. Especially if they have a medical predisposition, it could be very dangerous to the person.

@@gmaulpker4765 I understand, but the issue is that the possibility exists. I could easily see him escalating, spraying people in closer and closer proximity. Think of it this way. If someone points a firearm at you, it doesn't hurt you, but if someone pulls the trigger, it will cause bodily damage. Since that possibility is non-zero, you'd want to avoid that, right? They could point a firearm at you all day long and you're technically in no danger, until the possibility of them pulling the trigger becomes a reality. Just like how you can spray someone with CO2 all day and they won't get burned, as long you don't get the nozzle too close.

Well, I'm female, and typically have a very small child with me while I'm out, so I would probably "freak out" on them (their definition of freaking out, not mine). For sure, would be involving the police and pressing assault charges, harassment charges, stalking charges (if the DA will file them), and possibly child endangerment charges (like I said, typically have small child in tow). Imagine you go to the store after a long day of work. You go to the garden section to get some flowers to make your yard look nice. You're tired but just trying to enjoy your home more. Then your drenched by a man with a hose for a whole 20 or seconds. He's un apologictic and says its just a prank. You now go home drenched in your car after being humilitated for a joke. Then posted online for people to mock you. sounds like a villian origin story to me

Idk if it’s airing in any other countries, but in my country, there’s this channel that has subtitles translated from spanish or something. I think it’s called “lol” or something like that. Sometimes they do funny pranks, but mostly it’s just people working for the company or whatever going in public and harassing strangers. No joke, they would spray shaving cream all over them, shoot them with paintball guns, dump a buttload of water on them, smash their car windows, vandalize their homes, dump sticky condiments on people, use huge scissors to cut off flowers in the flower shop before running away, push over porta potties with people in them, you name it. They always run away, but there have been several instances where they literally got into physical conflicts with people. They have been beat up for it before. And they just keep on going!

Fun fact of the day: my sibling has autism (diagnosed) and it’s bad enough where when we go on pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disney (where there’s not even that much water) I have to cover them because they cannot deal with getting water on themself. They not quite dissociate but it is HORRIBLE for them, just a sensory thing. So if they got sprayed with water, that wouldn’t just ruin their day. Remember with these pranks, at best you’d ruin someone’s day, at not even worse, you could be tampering with someone’s special needs.

The teddy bear costume in a different context could be a decently funny prank, but... not just on random strangers in public. Like, secretly follow around your buddy while they go shopping and the only thing that's ever there is the teddy bear cart, and you've got some content, but dont just chuck pillows at randos.

The issue is the only “good one” is actually stolen. It’s based on the videos where ppl would go into the plush animal bins of stores or like in displays where stuff animals would be and gently spook people who came across which that itself is based on the “hidden in plain sight” genre of pranks ud see on tv. One good one is the snowman or bush one where they’d often do something casual like pick something up for them they dropped or slightly moving! In the end those pranks were fine as ppl were spooked but would instantly laugh after.
