They were walking down the aisle and there weren't a lot of people there... It made me wonder if they were having a virtual guest attendance and he was reading family messages. I say that because we had our wedding during COVID and after we said our vows we both raced to our phones to talk to our families on live stream that couldn't make it. From an out of context video it would've looked like we ignored our parents and ran to social media immediately after our first kiss, but in reality we were eager to thank all our friends and extended families for watching and saying good bye before the reception.

Fun fact: as someone studying electrical, ground wire is ment to protect your circuits from electric shocks like lightning, once it is shocked the electric travels through the ground wire and neutralizes in the ground to protect your panel. What she was installing was called a grounding rod as well as a grounding clamp to hold the wire in place, used to mount the ground wire to the ground, the problem with this is unless her husband is electro and constantly gets shocked by lightning, this method does not do anything but make you look stupid and make the home look dumb, and even if lightning strikes it wouldn't protect him sense you know it travels through him before it hits the rod and.... HES IN A HOUSE

fun fact: as someone who does practical electrical engineering, grounding yourself like this wouldn't do anything to make him, as in his body, get struck by lightning. The fact that you have a huge wire to ground hanging out your window means the lightning would much prefer that, but what most likely will happen is that the ground lighting will likely travel up that wire, and fry your ass in your sleep. If not, lightning could strike the wire, blast through the insulation like nothing, then as the energy is being dumped, the wire could melt or split in two (from the impact, heat, etc.) and the lightning could send some current through you, and bring you to the same fate. If you wanna ground yourself, put a tiny 1-10 Mohm resistor and a lot of insulation between you and the earth pin on your wall outlet. it always feeds to a grounding rod, and is a ton less effort. If any electrical anomaly happens, that resistor will just reduce the amount of current flowing to something negligible! It's also exactly how ESD straps work for building PCs or working on sensitive, unshielded electronics.

6:15 I’m just here desperately hoping that this is a video of a severely disabled man who has had a go-pro strapped to his head having a meltdown, which may not sound PC, but I would much prefer to believe that reality than have to face the possibility that a real fully functioning human being with complete mental faculties actually though this would be a good idea. The lady that sued her parents has to be trolling. First of all there's no way a court would even take this case, they would throw it out immediately. Second of all, there's literally no way to ask a fetus who is just sperm and goo if it wants to live or not. Third of all, i had my biological son adopted out to parents who could better take care of him and i can confirm that in order to he able to be even allowed to adopt a child in the US, its a long, grueling process with extreme expectations- the parents have to be not only 100% mentally sound, but financially exceptional, with accreditation from every aspect from every person in your life before they even consider you to be approved. AND THEN, it can take years to actually be matched with the right child at the right time, and even that isnt set in stone. My apoted parents for my son had waited 6 years to find the right son and i waited a year to find the right parents for him. So anyone who casually says they just suddenly adopted a baby is full of shit. She is either trolling or purposely saying something ridiculous just for attention.

There is a real kind of grounding used in therapy. It’s a lot of mindfulness techniques and often breathing is involved. It doesn’t connect you to the earth or anything but it does help you feel more in the moment. It’s used mainly for people with trauma, ptsd, dissociation, etc, and it’s been a lifesaver for me. It’s really important to add that if going outside barefoot and doing breathing techniques helps you ground, then do it. The cool dirt and soft grass can be an immense help, but it’s not some magical thing that’s gonna help you grow roots into the ground or anything. People take the name too literally. My favorite way to ground is to bounce on my feet because it helps remind my brain that I am on solid ground and that the things around me are real.

I thought walking around outside bare footed what called Earthing now? Anyway, I think it's a nice thing she is trying to do for her husband. I know loved ones feel helpless when you're in a lot of pain and will try anything they can to help. If he believes it works then maybe he will get a little placebo effect and if he doesn't I'm sure he is happy his family loves him enough to put that much effect into trying to help (and might pretend it works a little for their benefit).

As for consenting to exist, you are not actually considered capable pf giving consent until your around 16-18 depending on the laws of the country you live in, and yes, that applies to a lot more than sex, things like getting a tattoo or moving out. Before your of age all decisions are made for you by your parents regardless of your consent because your unable to consent. The point being that you sueing your parents because you didn’t consent to exist is equivalent to sueing your parents because you didn’t consent to going to school, or getting your vaccinations or accepting a blood donation. You aren’t able to fully comprehend your situation, and therefore your parents or caregivers must consent for you. Obviously the same is true of being conceived. Personally though, though I think this philosophy of not consenting to exist is relevant, if only as for a topic for philosophy majors to consider, I despise it because of its prevalence amongst pro-suicide groups and philosophies, thus fuelling my belief that this philosophy should absolutely not be being thrown around in such a loose manner, and this woman sueing her parents should have been immediately dismissed.

@@_Suited well every action ever is selfish, because it will always serve the needs, wants and desires of the individual that undertakes it in some way. This is especially obvious for having children, as most parents will have children because they want children and for the experience of parenthood. Obviously there are different reasons as to why someone might choose to become a parent, and God knows that there are exceptions, but if it's a choice someone makes, it's selfish. Thats how I see the world, at least. By the way, just to clarify, selfish isn't a bad thing.
