I just started the video.. but I think one of the core issues in the filmmaking KZbin space is differentiating sponsored videos and review videos. Sponsored videos are not reviews and people need to stop treating them as such. Sponsored videos are opportunities for both brand and creators to work together to highlight a product. If people think that not genuine.. then they can watch non sponsored reviews. Both are needed. I personally love these lights. I’ve used them on pro sets and KZbin stuff. Also I don’t think a lot of people were calling these pro film industry lights.. they’re different tools for different situations. And everyone’s definition of “industry standard” is different. A true filmmaker will use whatever they can to get a job done.

Bro I’m a fan of your channel and you are always 100% real and that’s why I’ve been a fan over the years. They did market these as “pro” briefly and let’s be real we know they aren’t. This video was meant to be more of a demo about the subject and appreciate your feedback. I think as a community we just need to do better Cam! I’m homies with Kofi and I’m in Costa Mesa if you ever want to link up or need help shooting broll btw. I couldn’t agree more with what it is you’re saying bro. We need BOTH view points and brands just need to be careful with what they label certain products. For me the molus x100 is usable but the CX100 is limiting with the points I brought up in my opinion. Can you use it yes, is there better options for the buck 10000%

@@ImJasonAnthony I never saw the pro branding stuff personally. Haha usually when a brand hits me up, if I’m actually interested in the product I jsut run with it and don’t pay attention to much else 😂. But yes I get what you’re saying, there’s a lot of “shilling” as people call it. But I think most of those people aren’t in the pro industry and aren’t marketing towards that industry. So I jsut feel there’s a little bit of a disconnect in this common thread being shaped around genuine and disingenuous content.. when it’s more of a conversation of people realizing KZbin isn’t black and white and there’s room for everyone’s view points. I’ve been crass in the past regarding the community but as my channel grows I’m enlighten more and more. Basically, we all have a different collection of tools and we all use them differently and not everything is made for every person. Like I don’t think any pros are going to watch our videos thinking “oh these lights are for pros? Sold!” Haha and people working their way up are going to buy what they want regardless. It’s like anytime I see someone shredding a guitar.. makes me want to buy it every tho I know I’ll never be able to play like that haha. This conversation should be blaming capitalism, not creators.

I agree. Too many people raving about a product when I know there must be limitations to it. But I have begun to see some giving honest reviews. And there are some I trust, like Gerald's Undone. He's always very honest about the deal he made to do a review and isn't afraid to talk about its limitations. As a semi-KZbinr myself I experienced that head on. I was interested in a particular product and I noticed that there were very few ACTUAL reviews of it. They more like talking about specs and how it's so amazing. But when I bought it and received it, there were a lot of bugs and other issues that nobody ever mentioned. I was literally, and probably still am, the only one on all of KZbin to do an actual review of it. I do want to do a follow-up to my review, because I'm still using it and am not experiencing many issues anymore. It's the Emotiva MR1, in case you're wondering. Anyway, too many KZbinrs were all out raving about it and I could tell they didn't really test it.

I have the x60 and x100 - they are not even what I would consider professional lights. They get the job done but the fan noise is a joke, they are louder than my Skypanels that are 5x brighter but take up a larger footprint. I got these for travel run-n-gun lighting shoots where I won't always have edison to rely on and they are great for that. Thankfully the noisy fans can get notched out in post if they are picked up by the boom ever, with 10 seconds of room-tone capture, with Lavs I have not found the fan noise much of an issue (Even though these little suckers are louder than a gaming computer sprinkled with Dorito Dust).

This review is a little skewed. You mostly said it was "trash" because of what it didn't have. Why would you review something poorly because it didn't have certain features, when it doesn't even advertise or claim to have those features? For what it is -- a simplified, budget light, it does what it's supposed to. And if you're doing your research and know what you're getting, I think it's a great light.

Oh so when you turn the knob from 0-10% and it instantly jumps to 50% with no real gauge on what intensity you’re at isn’t a problem or the fact that the CRI isn’t close to the temperature you set? 5600 reads 6300k with my light meter. Those 2 callouts aren’t features not listed, they should just function properly. I got the cx100 to see if it could compete with the x100 🤷🏻♂️ I research everything and do my homework. I’m just tired of people riding brands jock and will say anything for a free light that costs $50 to make. My time is way more valuable to create these videos in trade for low cost items. If you enjoy the light that’s great bro, there’s something for everyone but don’t come at me saying it’s a great light. Can it light something up . . . You might've at some point in your video, but I tuned out since it was just all ranting. I mean one of them is less than half the price of the other, doesn't take much to figure out which ones better. Also if you could name some lights that are "better" (as you say in your video) within the same price range of the cx100 that offers 100w and internal battery, that would be great. If you can't then it really just makes all your points in this video moot.

@gabriel-mckee5 ай бұрын
@@ImJasonAnthony I appreciate that you're trying to elevate the video. But the cuts feel random to me (especially when they occur mid-sentence), so I find them distracting because I find myself wondering why there was a cut there rather than listening to you (which is a shame; your message is solid). I also think you're cutting to Camera B too often and spending too much time on those off-angle shots (which break eye contact with the viewer). Maybe mix in some B-roll of the products in use to drive home your points or get some overhead shots for further variety? I think that would do much more to elevate the video than bouncing between A and B.
