Knights of the Round's summon is long because 13 people are attacking Ark's summon is long because it has to come in from space and transform Magus Sisters' overdrive is long but it's just a flashy set up for one attack Zodiark's ultimate attack is long because it has to transform first Eden's summon is long because it has to emerge from the nth dimension that it resides in, then warp space-time in a concentrated spot on the battlefield in order to abduct the enemy back to the nth dimension, then warp the entire plane of the nth dimension into a cylinder so that the enemy is rotated to the top of the ship upside-down, then conduct an arcane ritual that covers the entire planet in order to displace the nth dimension from the planet's rotation to make sure its aim is perfect, then use that perfect aim to launch the enemy across the galaxy into the center of a black hole which then collapses.

The amount of nostalgia this video gave me is incredible. Now I remember all the small things that made my mind blown the first time I see them, the fact that Leviathan sweeps away the enemies that kill, the Doomtrain face on the railway crossing's pommel, the Ifrit's roar as he punch the meteor, all the Diablos animation, specially the amount of effort he needed to move the dark matter ball, when Seifer KILLED Odin during the Zantetsuken and the appearance of Gilgamesh... I would like to write more, but my laptop battery is at 84%.

My favorite Final Fantasy game ever. The GFs are soooo amazing to use. The animation and sound is perfect. I loved playing this when I was younger and encountering a big tough boss and summoning a GF like "well look who's on MY side!" It's silly, I know, but real passion went into making this game. And they were made in such a way where you really get that satisfying feeling of doing significant DAMAGE to enemies.

Somehow we played this game as kids in a family that was quite PG. I still remember checking to see if it was safe to summon Shiva (i.e. no one was around) because heaven forbid we see a bikini clad bosom. Ironically, it looked way more suggestive in the first version- like the pixels were hiding something.

I can appreciate the summons for FF8. Some where epic, others where funny while a couple were beautiful. Favorites are Silent Voice, Dark Messenger, Ruby Light, Tsunami, Holy Judgement and Rebirth Flame. Behometh is always by far the most bad ass of FF’s overall summons. Raw power there.

Game was pushing the hardware limits of ps1 back in the day. Anyways , the gf summons are what they used to sell this game as I remember the demo starting you off with a 6400 hp level and allowing you to use the extravagant gf summons.

Never used Orbital (Eden) when I finished the game years ago, it's a late in the game acquisition so I was mainly focused on boosting my stats, I'm amazed by the amount of damage it deals, beyond 9999 cap !

For me FVIII have the best summons cutscenes, Nomura did a fantastic job with the storyboard design. Bahamut is clearly my favorite ever and still the most beautiful version in a FF. (I adore IX, CC and T-0 too)

Ofc it's identical. They're the same Eden after all. Also 'Blue Field' theme can also be heard at the new expansion of ff14. They bring some ff8 feature there.
