Thanks for watching! I was out with dinner with friends in the USA a couple of years ago. I couldn't use my phone because of the outrageous data roaming charges. Here I was sitting there in silence, while all four of the rest of them were busily taking photos of their food and tweeting and facebooking to friends that were not with us. It was the strangest feeling of being left out. I'm sure that we would have all been laughing and chatting together during that dinner if it wasn't for the phones being used.

It did strike me as unusual for a cell phone company telling people to put their phones down :) It is a great message fore people. There's nothing like having a conversation with someone and right when you are in mid sentence they are reading something on their phone because they just got a text message. Thank You about speaking out about the Cell Phone situation. We do not have one, but members of the family do. When my children come from so far away, and we only see them 1 - 2 times a year, it really bothers me when they have the phone in their hands and instead of visiting, they are scrolling and typing on the phone. I hope this gets out to everyone, and family and friends will become more Personal! Merry Christmas!

Love your videos! I'm jealous of all that beautiful snow! It's usually cold here near Philadelphia, PA, USA this time of year but Christmas Eve it's going to be 60 degrees F and rainy! No fair! Lol I hate to say this but people spend way to much on their phones! They miss out on life! I think it's sad that we have to ask people to leave cell phones and such at the door! #holidaymode I was just talking to my son about this a few days ago. We are going to have "device free" times this holiday season when everyone has to put away their cell phones and no video games. We are going to play board games, back treats, and watch holiday movies together. I'm so excited!

I understand why some people would appreciate this campaign, but as a college student living away from home during this holiday season the only way I can connect with my friends and family is through my electronic devices. Even when I am able to make it home for the holidays, my family and I like to be able to text or facetime our friends or family out of state to feel more connected during our holiday festivities even though we're miles apart. My cousins and I make face to face connections by playing video games together, playing mobile apps together, sharing photos on our phones. My aunts and I like to share recipes we find online and having a smartphone around makes them more accessible. Anti-technology sentiment bugs me quite a bit.

I think that many people live a balanced life where technology only enhances their experiences and helps them stay connected with people far away. There are many others that don't have that balance and spend too much time with people that are elsewhere and ignore the people sitting next to them. I have been to many gatherings of family and friends where everyone is sitting in a room and no one is looking at anything but their phones. Not anti-technology, just a more balanced approach to technology.

Hi, Tammy. This reminds me of something I saw somewhere on the net--can't remember where, but it probably wouldn't be too hard to find--about making a chain out of small candy canes by softening them in the oven like you did here, but curling the strait part up and forming a circle, then doing the same with a bunch more and linking them together to make a chain. Might be cool if you did that project, if you're not done filming Christmas themed videos for this year.

We don't celebrate Christmas in Turkey but we celebrate New Year's Eve. :) I will probably spend this time with my elder sisters and their children. We will roast chestnuts. You rock, Tammy! The candy cane pops look like something my oldest son (13) and I would enjoy doing together. The phone box idea is great too, I'm going to put one in my house for visitors. My husband and I have a "rule" that once he is home from work, I'm done with whatever errands I had for the day & shuttling kids to wherever they need to be (we have 11), we both turn off our phones until the nine youngest kids are in bed. That ensures that we get to fully engage with each one of them every single day.

#holidaymode Today I picked up a gingerbread train kit on sale at the local supermarket ($3.50 in Australia is a bargain!) Tonight my brother gf and I sat down and made it.. It turned out horrible and the premade frosting wouldn't stick to anything and we ran out! We ate too many of the candies and made a huge mess.. But we had a blast! So much fun and we couldn't stop giggling at the word caboose repeated on the box so many times. We actually named it the Caboose Train. We try do this kind of stuff whenever we can, decorating cookies or my birthday cake (that was terrible) the kids kits turn out to be harder than making everything yourself. Nothing beats fun family time without technology distracting you. Merry Christmas ^.^ ❤️ (Maybe we'll try these candy cane pops next 😂)
