Looking good! We finally started actually mining (had been doing rehab and emptying remucks) yesterday; it was my first time on a jackleg in quite some time so I'm pretty sore. It was all good until we lost water and had the bit bind up on the last lifter; took 45 minutes to get the machine out. Best I can figure the fractured ground pinched the steel. Thanks for the jumbo tips. We'll resurrect a two-boom pneumatic unit this year; wrapping my head around that thing will be fun.

Good point about allowing enough time, had the occasional gungho partner who wanted to go go go , which I liked, but took a few f$#% -ups for him to see it my way. Murphy's Law, it's great to giver but when things go wrong and you and your partner and the two people you got waiting to guard for you all miss their cage, not a happy day! Especially loading slashes on pillars, ground was always broken.

hey mate starting my underground mining job as a truck operator, any tips ? i come from a civil background and have working on a open cut before but would love a bit of a in site

Civil and mining although seem the same they are very different. So long as your ambitious and don't mind hard work and getting dirty you won't be on the trucks forever (unless that's what you want) trucks is a good foot in the door, as you expierence more underground jobs you will find something you like. Also the grass isn't always greener at another site lol

So lucky! We don't get helpers 🤷‍♂️ if u see 3 day cycle videos I cycle the hole heading alone ! Some company don't understand how effective helpers are . We spread thin in Canada

@@JoryDion oh mate. Must be hard going hitting production targets. I’m a jumbos offsider here in Australia and we smash meters but there are 2 of us helping the jumbo op.

@@mikerigby1048 i can get 4 meters in 10 hours alone 🤷‍♂️ "bog it, bolt it, drill blast" almost completely alone. Having a hard time getting company's to adopt MD bolts and offsiders we not allowed to use split sets as primary support . Resin rebar seems pritty slow with jumbo.. mining is still fun though
