I thought exactly the same. Funny if you rethink it a little. Although buildings only show up if you get close to them, we all knew cities and remembered places in that game and how to get there... The funniest thing was to sit on a chair or bench in the game. When Tanner sat down on nothing (air), felt like 5 meters behind the actual chair.

They could have improved draw distance given more time to develop a better LOD system - just like in the Spyro games which have incredible draw distances. But considering what they did achieve with Driver 2, it is nothing short of _astonishing_ taking into account the very severe limitations of PS1 hardware...

Driver 2 was the best fucking game ever created in the books of history games. No game will ever be as Driver 2 was for 1990 generation this game surpassed everything, and GTA's are just rip off from Driver game and also from World's Scariest Police Chases another huge classic but not that known from PS1..

Amazing game forever, played it when I was 6 years old. And also the World's Scariest Police Chases was epic. The differencw was that I could beat some of the missions in Driver 2 when I was that age, but the missions of WS Police Chases were impossible for me back then xD. Still both awesome games!

One of my favorite games on ps1. Played the first Driver. I remember being blown away by the fact that I could exit the vehicle in Driver II. Many years later, got into the GTA games and Driver faded away.

Back in the day before i had dial up Internet I use to go into a zellers or walmart an find the strategy guide to what ever game i was playin at the time, being a little kid all i ever had was a dollar or 2, so since i never had money to buy the guides id look through them an find the couple pages i needed and id go use the public photo copy machine in the store an copy the pages out of the strategy guides for 25 cents a page...I did that with driver 2, i photo copied the 2 pages that showed you were the secret cars are hidden in the game, i found the hidden cars that way ...That was about 20 years ago...

Tom Klimczyk That might take a while. Chicago alone is pretty tough. It makes sense that you can unlock police cars, since Tanner is an undercover cop and had to turn in his badge in the first game.

Is it possible to save while having collected all the secret cars? I can't find how to save them. Every time I restart I need to unlock them again.

Unlock the car, then immediately after you see the message "you've unlocked a secret car!" hit start, and then exit game. Save in the options menu, then next time you restart the game, if you choose "Take a ride" mode, you can choose the secret car as your starting vehicle :)

Daaaayummm, it worked! I first loaded my completed undercover game. Took a Ride in Chicago, went for the secret car. When there was standing: 'You've unlocked a secret car', I exited the Take a Ride mode. I went to the options menu and saved in the menu 'save settings'. I restarted Driver 2. The first thing I did was loading the completed game again. After that I loaded the settings I saved before, and voila, I can choose the secret car :) Thanks!

Yes! Once you've unlocked it, you can spawn in it. But you have to remember to save your game once you've unlocked it!
