YS FZ63 Fuel System Setup and Look Inside

I show my new fuel tank and the plumbing setup for this engine as well as a quick look inside the rear cover. The FZ63 manual has also been uploaded to the Engine Manuals folder.

It looks really good inside to be used at least once, for sure they used some sort of afterrun lubricant before sored for years, the rotary disc and internals are like new, YS are the most powerfull in their class

Thanks David! You know I'm a Saito guy. I was not expecting the YS to look like that inside or have that plumbing. More lessons learned!

Thank you David, this engine looks good. It´s very important to use the required fuel, That's why many can't get this engine tuned.

This is a valid point. Here is exactly what the manual states for fuel: Use a good quality fuel which contains 15-30% nitromethane and oil content of 20-24%. Synthetic or castor oil can be used, or a combination of synthetic and castor. Do not use four cycle fuel due to low oil content. However in the review article by Clarence Lee he used Morgans Omega 10% with 4 ounces of castor added to bring the oil content up to 20%. I do not have 15% or higher nitro fuel available to me and will be using Morgans Cool Power 10% with added castor.

The YS engines run particularly well with the Coolpower low viscosity red oil “Heli mix”. 22% Coolpower red, 30% nitro. That mix really wakes them up.

I had one of those and could never get it to run properly - I gave up on it eventually and bought an OS Alpha

Here is what I believe and think of YS engines. They are well engineered and complex four stroke engines. They require special care in setup, maintenance, and operation than other four stroke engines. They are not for the inexperienced glow modeler. They are far superior to ANY OS Alpha series engines. I believe that many YS engines are purchased by folks that have more money than they have experience, knowledge, and patience. This fact makes purchasing used YS engines much more risky than other engines due to the fact that they may not have been maintained properly. Used YS engines are far more likely to require parts replacement and refurbishment. I feel that I am blessed or gifted with finding awesome glow engines for low cost; and I believe that this engine will prove to be just that. BTW, I do NOT miss living or being in Pinellas county at all. You have my condolences.
