Ein bisschen neue-sachliche doch wunderschöne Interpretation dieser kompakten und technisch anspruchsvollen Sonate im gut phrasierten Tempo mit seidigem doch perfekt artikuliertem Ton der Solovioline. Wunderbar und atemberaubend!

Neu-sachlich stimmt! Na gut, wohin soll man sich als Schüler von David Oistrach auch entwickeln? Einen schöneren und größeren Ton anzustreben wäre unsinnig. Kremer entfaltet hier eine ganz eigene Künstlerpersönlichkeit -- ungeheuer virtuos und intellektuell zugleich. Das Ergebnis ist atemberaubend, wie Sie ganz richtig sagen.

@@uliwidmaier5192 : Excellent points. While listening to this recording I had forgotten for a moment that Kremer was a student of David Oistrakh. I believe Gidon Kremer is probably the most underrated violin virtuoso of our time.

As I recall he pulled out of a festival a couple of years back that he had participated in for some time due to, I believe, what he considered disrespect. He wrote a very public criticism. I don't recall the name of the festival. That is the reason for my comment. I was very disappointed that such a gifted musician would feel that way, and frankly, a bit angry.
