Single mom to a severely independent busy bee 15 month old. The pregnancy was traumatic and caused permanent physical, mental and emotional scarring. Her first few months of life were brutal and caused more stress and sadness. Honestly, it's been hard for me to bond with her, because she wants to do her own thing, now she is actually ABLE to be normal. I would love to snuggle up and love up on her, that's personally what I need lol, but she wants to run in every direction all at once if she could🤣 With that said, besides the rock painting and settling down to watch a movie(yeah, not with my girl🏃♀️) we do everything else together. I still don't feel connected, but I do enjoy seeing the pure joy and amazement shining through on her face💜

I was depressed after I had my son. Our bonding was impacted. I am actively working towards more connection with him in ways that are meaningful for him.

It’s so weird I had just put my kids to bed and my 2.5 year old had been a real handful today, and I realised it was because I had not been fully present to, just going through the motions to get things done and I realised that was what was causing her behaviour! Love you videos, always so helpful xxx

I agree with your suggestions! And I think they all apply to older children and even teenagers too- just with different things. It makes me feel so loved when my parents are investing in me and are interested in the things I like. I know that's not always easy for them, because I have pretty wild tastes!

Me and my 2 year old connect I definitely do understand the letting them watch tv cause thats my time to get stuff done my daughter gets a hr on her tablet and in that time I spend 10-15 min cleaning each room. Sometimes she likes to hold the dustpan or wash the table. I made it a set rule though that i turn my phone off and let my daughter pick something she wants to do with mommy and I spend at-least 15 mins 2x a day giving her my undivided attention no phone no wait a minute. Now that I made this a rule ive noticed we are way more connected and bonded i feel so much closer and so much more loved and she does too and ive been able to every day spend 15 mins 2x a day. Before bed she gets her tablet and she can come lay in my lap and watch her tablet while I’m on Facebook or shopping doing my weekly budget or taking one of my childcare classes whatever that may be. My daughter is 2 and lately ive been letting her join me while I workout thats even more time together but between cleaning and cooking and 12 hr shifts i noticed there were times i didnt make time to sit and give her undivided attention or play woth toys or watch tv together. During that time I actually felt like my daughter didn’t love me and that was super hard on my mental health. 15 min rule hope that helps someone.

Thank you. Lots of great topics and ideas. I'm going to try quite a few of these this weekend with my kiddos. It's easy to get distracted and forget the small things that mean the most. A lot of these are things I know or are common sense once you hear them. But its amazing to have some support and motivation. Thank you again.

You can't monetize videos unless the video over 10 minutes.. that's why every KZbinr has at least 5 minutes pf pointless filler.

My daughter (5) has an aversion to chores and takes off running when I ask if she wants to help. She’s too busy doing her thing... I really want her to WANT to help. What can I do to spark her interest in housework?

Create a reward system, a chore chart and she can get a treat and a put stickers in. The box when she does her chore? That worked for my siblings lol
