Toyota Corolla GR Sport - Is It Better? Handling Test on Genting Highlands | YS Khong Driving

The Toyota Corolla GR Sport shares the same 2ZR-FE 1.8L naturally-aspirated inline-four engine found in other variants. This engine delivers 139 PS (138 hp or 103 kW) at 6,400 rpm and 172 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT that drives the front wheels.
In addition to aesthetic upgrades to both the exterior and interior, the GR Sport package enhances handling with features such as sports suspension with retuned dampers, springs, and stabilizers. It also includes larger 18-inch wheels with an exclusive Dark Gray Metallic finish, wider 225/40 profile tires, and GR emblems.
So, does the GR Sport package really enhance the handling of the car? To find out, we tested the car at our favorite Genting Highlands to see how it handles.

Good review Uncle. I've tested the GR corolla sedan, noticed while external observation there is no front parking sensors which was omitted vs the standard corolla sedan. Toyota Thailand may have not noticed this.

Unfortunately here in Australia, it is not available as I think TOYOTA do specifically target their worldwide markets; but it is good to know what cars are available elsewhere. Sadly we don't get GR sport trim in my country (Indonesia), and maybe this power loss comes from 18 inch wheel compared to regular 17 inch wheels. They should put M20A-FKS engine here Nice video as always uncle. Thank you. I enjoyed it :)

The difference is the ride. The Corolla has a nice and soft ride and can still corner better than the FE and the FE has a stiffer suspension. Actually Honda came out with this arrangement with the FD, but Toyota perfected it.

@@nashk935 cause westerner mentality? if yours truly asian should know that everything is tunable and when racing on mountain road - speed is one factor but you will need other components like brakes, aerodynamics, tires, suspension settings, chassis body roll, handling tuning, ECU mapping and vicey versa.
