Once again you see the complete incompetence of the judicial system. This judge literally broke state and federal laws with his "secret" meeting and punished the attorney who was legally obligated to call him out. ANY decision he makes will EASILY get overturned on appeal, he broke the law. This judge is not qualified to be a school crossing guard. The judge can't make this decision, he's a biased party to the ex parte meeting he had. Defense attorneys can call him as a witness now, so a neutral judge has to take the motion to recuse. This judge will eventually be removed from the bench and his career is over, and possibly the prosecutors as well.

The defense attorney filed a motion to recuse (disqualify) the judge. That means the defense attorney is saying that there is biased, misconduct, the appearance of impropriety and/or other reasons the judge should not preside over this case. The judge denied the motion.
