After watching what's going on with this judge, I am rooting so hard for this to be a not guilty verdict or to have this case thrown out. It doesn't matter what the defendant has done. I'm a retired defense attorney and it is unheard of totally unheard of for a judge to engage in an ex parte meeting with the prosecutor without the defense attorney their. I mean this is just mind-boggling. I mean could it be possible that this judge doesn't know that? Actually, speaking from experience, I can tell you it is a possibility that the judge does not know that this is totally improper. I can tell you from handling 5,000 cases that typically the dumbest one in the whole equation is the judge. The absolute dumbest most unknowledgeable person in the courtroom is typically the judge. But this is law school 101 this is criminal law 101, the judge may not engage in meetings with one attorney without the other one being present. This is mind-boggling that this happened. And what's more mind-boggling is that the judge doesn't seem to realize that what he's doing is completely improper and and is grievable.This judge can be thrown off the bench for this.
