Very interesting that the body postures (except lotus pose) of (Hatha) yoga were introduced in the 17th and 18th century, thus coinciding with the British colonization of India, who brought with them the Scandinavian gymnastics tradition through the army training and school system.

Thanks for listening. Depends what you mean by body postures. Numerous āsanas including more complex standing and balancing āsanas were being practiced and taught quite long before the 17th centuries in India. We have sculptural records at Hampi for example dating to the early 1500s.
