Yoga to me is a way to tune into your body and it also helps with cleansing the organs

Dear Sir, your self and Sir/Dr Jim perhaps have better knowledge in Yoga and Sanskrit than many Indians. But I am afraid the main ingredient of spirituality/Belief is missing, probably you are more interested in history and development through western eyes. I understand that Sir Jim is a practitioner of Yoga (asanas) and he is a Mahanth as well of Nath tradition. The main point I would like to bring, is that your interpretation of Harappan seal. you mention that there is no context/ nothing to point out about that it is a yoga pose. lets go through some of the things happening in here and now. Have you seen £5/10/20/50 notes. There is QE 2 head as her Highness is the present monarch. There are several other monuments commemorating great victories of British in the world etc with the generals with swords on horses etc. In Harappa, Siva is a God and their greatest achievement symbolically is Yoga. May be that is a reason why they had it on a seal. All I request you is to keep an open mind regarding other's traditions and beliefs, although however proficient in their language and practices you are. Namaste AUM Santhi Santhi Santhi hi.

They think by doing phd they become superior and gained more knowledge over local people and local tradtions.

He said specifically: "Evidence for a context *in which such a seated yoga practice would happen* is not there." So what is the *evidence* for the context in which such seated yoga practice happened in 2800 BCE?

@@harshnaik6989 Don't make the mistake of thinking that Western doctors or professors can't be authentic practitioners of Eastern spiritual traditions. Just look into James Mallinson and Ian A. Baker.

I think MS is a much better writer than speaker, and an even better thinker.
