What travel do you run in the front on the free ride bike?
@PeterJamison Жыл бұрын
I run 200mm travel on the fork for both bikes! Just stock Marzocchi Bomber 58’s, just one with the custom paint 🎨

@@PeterJamison perfect thankyou! Currently trying to find a 180mm air shaft for a pair of Marzocchi 58’s but it seems to be a struggle right now

Cool video, thank you! Three questions :) 1. Would you justify having gears on DH bike which is ridden in bike parks only, never against the clock? 2. Related to CAPRA you’ve said to prefer air suspension, is it the same about TUES? 3. Have you ever considered making a paid subscription (maybe later)? You make a content that’s totally worth paying for, despite not getting that much views (yet). 🤝
@PeterJamison Жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed the video! Here are some answers: 1. 100%! I never race, so my bike park DH bike has gears just for convenience... 2. As of today, I have only ever ridden air suspension on the Tues, as there isn't a Marzocchi CR that fits this frame, so it is tough to say that I 'prefer' air suspension. It would be unfair of me to make that claim without having tested it ✌ 3. That's quite the compliment regarding being willing to pay for my content, so thank you! Heading into the future, everything will be free always! Only goal is to keep making sure that the content provides value to the viewers!

@@PeterJamison thanks for the reply. So, do you really use the gears on DH bike and, if yes, in which cases? I wonder if it’s worth performance-wise to have additional unsprung weight and bigger (more prone to hit and crash) derailleur for the sake of gears changing. Curious to know your thoughts.

@@MTBforUA Well, the bike park I will be riding for the summer opens next week, so I will come back to you with so more insights after some riding! This will be my first time having gears on a DH bike, so it will be a fully new experience.

I don't know much about downhill or Freeride bikes but i've been looking between the sender Crf or the sender Cf 8.0. I want it to perform good for some bikepark days but also with some mellow climbs and big jumps which one would you recomend
@PeterJamison7 ай бұрын
I am not super familiar with the Canyon lineup of bikes, however, I would recommend whichever bike best fits your budget. ✌

Would you consider running a coil for bike parks like whistler. I like the idea of a coil for harsher tech, but I’m worried it’ll ruin the playfulness on jump lines. What are your thoughts?
@PeterJamison Жыл бұрын
Personally, I see coil shocks as a personal preference. If that is your jam, go for it. But I wouldn't say it will 'ruin' your playfulness; as long as you have the correct spring rate your bike should perform great👍 At times it may sit a bit more than your air shock (depending on your setup), but it shouldn't be a drastic difference. I personally love the way air shocks feel and love to mess around with air volume, which is why I always run the Float X2 on my DH bike. Hope this helps!

Great vid! Do you subscribe to the idea that a dh rig should have a shorter reach than your enduro rig?
@PeterJamison6 ай бұрын
Glad you enjoyed it! I do not subscribe to that concept for the most part. I think frame size should totally be depended by use case. That said, if you are using a DH bike for freeride, then yes, perhaps the reach may be shorter than your enduro rig. However, if you are using you DH bike for racing than it could easily be the same reach or longer✌🏼

@@PeterJamison thanks! I Just ordered my 2021 YT tues in a size large. I was stuck between large and xl but since I don’t plan on racing I settled with the large with hopes of keeping it livelier and easier to jump. Now I feel better on my decision 🤙🏽

Do you still ride 27.5 on your dh bikes. Im debating on getting a 29er or a 27.5. I mostly just want to ride jump lines not a racer
@PeterJamison6 ай бұрын
Still rockin' 27.5 for freeride! But going to start playing around with a mullet setup here in the near future. If you are just wanting to ride jump lines you will be a lot more happy with a 27.5 setup 🤘🏼
