Rappers are at concerts pointing their microphones towards crowds of mostly non-black people, encouraging them to recite lyrics with the N word in it. At this point, it’s part of the everyday vocabulary of people that indulge in modern black American culture.

Coming on camera to say something like this is classless no matter what skin color you are. It's also pretty stupid to bring this negative attention to yourself over a word you know that is considered offensive. At the end of the day, people are going to say what they're going to say. But the black men that tell their whytee brothers and sisters they have a pass to say it are just setting those people up for situations just like this or worse. It might just be a word to you, but people out there will be willing to throw hands and drop elbows over it, so is the word really worth that smoke?
@merkyofaycemfx2944
@merkyofaycemfx2944 3 ай бұрын
honestly.... in the contexts of endearment, or even the context that she used it, I don't mind other races using the -ga word. Personally, I think the black community needs to pick a line in the sand and stick to it. Either nobody use any context of the word, or everyone gets to use it. It similar to women calling themselves a "bad b*" then later getting upset someone called them a b*. It's similar to how black women will straighten their hair and dye it colors uniquely reserved for white folks, but cry about white folks wearing braids or dreadlocks. It's a problem that is uniquely black and needs to be dealt with. I could see how she could get confused, and I can empathize with her more than my other black brothers and sisters would like to, especially the ones who decided to ruin her life over 16 seconds. I hate all the tone policing that is going on. We can call out people for having dumb opinions, but they shouldn't lose their livelihoods. I would understand the desire to cancel someone a little more if they were a public figure and had a responsibility to uphold a certain image, sure, even then I don't feel like it is right to rake someone over the coals because you disagree with them. Furthermore, if it's good for the goose than it's good for the gander to cancel white folks to cancel over the N word, than we should point the finger back at us. Our own music genres, gangster rap in particular, doesn't paint very many people in the brightest of light, *especially women* , and is chock full of reprehensible, repugnant language. Having said that, I for one think the world is a better place with *gangster rap* irrespective of my last paragraph, so I think as a community, we just need to grow up. We can't monetize off a word then disallow everyone else the use of that word.
@SmilingDesperado
@SmilingDesperado 3 ай бұрын
The "black community" isn't a community. I hate that this narrative has kept going on for so long. We don't have one brain and move lock-step with each other on every single little issue. Some guy living in Compton isn't living the same life as a black kid living in the suburbs. Some people don't care if you use it, and some people do. The smarter thing to do would be to recognize what people don't care and use it in front of them, the smartEST thing to do would just not use the word at all. Your analogy about women calling each other a "bad b*" doesn't work either. We as humans do this with EVERYONE. People in our in group can say certain things that other people can't. I can call my brother stupid, you can't. I can make a fat joke about my friend, you can't. This isn't new, and it isn't some special situation that's only for the N word. I will agree that there needs to be personal accountability when it comes to our own usage of the word. If the word is that bad, it shouldn't be used, period. But if Chinese people started calling everyone "ch***", I wouldn't start going around saying it just because they did.
@merkyofaycemfx2944

@SmilingDesperado that's funny. Every other race treats their own as a community, at least here in the U.S. Jewish folk and Middle Eastern folk band together and pool their money together, which is why they seem to be at the top of the economic bracket. You go to a Chinese food restaurant, and everyone in the family and their friends is behind the counter in some respect. White folks been generating generational wealth. Mexicans do the work nobody else is willing to do. Somehow, black folks struggle with the 50/50 convo like R. Kelly struggles to keep it in his pants around minors. I'll submit to you that black people, nor any group of people are a monolith, but I will say in comparison to other races, black folk move like a snake with 2 heads compared to other races who seem to look after their own more. Case in point, usage of the N word.

Yeah that's the way I took it as well. I'm thinking most of the men she was talking about we're not even black and if she literally said it just because they are black then that could be problematic 😂 I just feel like the whole thing is cap and she has no black friends and didn't grow up like that and lives in a all white town where she doesn't have to worry about anything happening. But if she really does have black friends I don't think their men are going to be too happy about this. So either way it's a stupid move

I know when I was in Miami doing some work It seem like everybody use the word but not in the racist way with the hard R all of the Hispanics, Cubans there are a lot of Haitians that like messing with the white girls, while most of the white girls just fuck the rappers and ballers which seem to be either Hispanic or black. If that is the case then she is used to saying it and the people there have allowed it or just accept it. If she was comfortable saying it on the internet then she probably has been usy it for a while probably grew up in an area like opa-locka, Hialeah, Carol City, or whatever they call it now i think Miami gardens.
