I'm lucky. I got a caddy 1.9 BLS because two people didn't want it. The original owner passed away and left the caddy to his son. His son drove it for a year and sold it to my family member for $1000AUD. What a bargain. The caddy is worth $10,000AUD. I know why they sold it so cheap. The van needed a full overhaul. It had 290,000 when I got it off my family member. I've replaced many engine parts and suspension parts. Turned the EGR off. Put a straight thru exhaust on and gutted the cat. I've practically become a VW technician from everything I've had to learnt fixing the Caddy. Been watching your vids. Cheers for the help. I'll be replacing my turbine next. It makes a metallic noise at idle. Not sure if that's meant to happen. I only noticed the sound after gutting my catalyst.

Fair play mate for tagging the other tuners in the description. And it’s true what you’re saying with quality of mapper, I had a 1.6 mini mapped by someone of Facebook with a kess v2 box and the small cost of £65 lol. I literally learnt nothing and the guy who mapped the car didn’t know a lot either. However I had my mk5 golf mapped a little while ago by dtg performance just outside of Essex and they where brilliant. After that experience I actually had a good understanding of how the mapping is achieved and it was a better experience and also got a few dyno runs and a print out. Another great video mate 👍🏻

Hey Jack thank you mate, I definitely wanted to give the people who gave me advice a shout out for sure 👍. I’ve seen a couple of cowboy mappers over the years and since speaking to decent tuners I’d never go anywhere else. Cheapest isn’t always the best.
@jcstuningltd2 жыл бұрын
Just like anything boys pay peanuts get monkeys, a good tuner will always be a bit more then ur fb mart place mapper😅, Everything we do is done in house, we alwys start with a original file, so if ur vehicle is tuned else where we’d source original file, then take it from there, I’ve had far to many call outs for passed tuners files that’s not been correct, yes people have different ways of doing things but some things I’ve seen I’m not days are shocking, files that have just been death mapped, high fuel high boost at 2000rpm shaft snappers, had one start of week demanding 2.2bar on a standard bog kkk 😂
@jcstuningltd2 жыл бұрын
And like you said DTE if they don’t even have vdcs or vagcom walk away, most important thing to mapping is ur data log or ur mapping blind😵💫

In terms of deisel mapping, might i recomend, Darkside Devolopments in North England. Had a coupple of cars they mapped and they have been amazing. My curent A3 was mapped by them aswell, never had a problem. They properly inspect the cars before they even agree to map it, and if they dont like it they wont touch it. They really are good, highly rated!
