Josh R production company Klasky Csupo hired themselves out to big corporations like McDonald's, and in fact they got their start doing straight up commercial work, titles and stuff like that. They'd been around for I guess five years before they started hitting big with all those shows in the mid 90s, and this Wacky Adventures project was another five years after that. So a big company could just write a big fat check and get the whole package, including the trendy house style and all the in house talent and facilities behind it. This one had Jim Duffy directing and Mark Mothersbaugh on music. I always found their design style nauseating, but hats off to them for making it pay, and I'm a big fan of Mothersbaugh. Side note, the guy voicing the hideous dog thing has about 600 IMDB voice acting credits. Can't think of a more prolific actor. BTW I knew almost none of this until I did this ytp and started wondering how McDonald's copped the whole style perfectly without getting its balls sued off.

In the late 90s, McDonald's commissioned Klasky Csupo, the animation studio behind Rugrats, The Wild Thornberrys, and a ton of other shows, to create a few 45 minute long cartoons featuring the characters of their McDonaldland advertising campaign that had been going on for the past decade-plus. The cartoons were sold on video cassette at McDonald's for a short while.

Well, there's a blast from the past. I remember a relative worked there when I was a little kid and gave me a bunch of the tapes. I vaguely remember an episode with a king and a mad scientist.
