@@MattIsTheCatYes and no. WAV files are (usually, they technically can contain MP3) uncompressed, so the highness of the fidelity is determined only by the sample rate and bit depth. A 44 kHz, 16-bit stereo WAV is equal in quality to a plain audio CD, and takes roughly as much space to store.
