待ってました~I miss this so much. Is that focaccia bread for the burger, Kay? Love avocado and sauteed mushroom burger and I probably would have preferred provolone to American (which I know is sacrilege). If you want inexpensive, you have your McDonald's, Wendy's, the occasional Burger King, Mos Burger, Lotteria in Japan, but if you want quality over price, there are places that are better, but burgers can be super expensive. I've seen a place called "Dad Bod Burgers(?)" , but I have yet to try them b/c their burgers run from like 1500 to 2000 yen. I do like places like Freshness Burger which are kind of in between McD's and the more expensive places. Even Carl's Jr which I like and which had just opened up in Japan just before covid (unfortunate timing) are pricey. Shake Shack also opened up here and it's good, but again, pricey. Also, crispy bacon again 😁 Btw, Kay, maybe you or Zookatsu-san can explain to me. In the US, we've got green, yellow, red peppers, etc. But, in Japan, the green ones are ピーマン but the rest that aren't green are called パプリカ?Why Japan!? Also, I kind of miss the variety of breads in the US. Japanese bread is great and Japanese pastries and bakeries are wonderful, too, but I don't see very many crusty breads in the average grocery store here. I'm sure if I looked harder, I could find some, but most of the breads in your typical grocery stories are your plain, white bread, dinner rolls (and those with raisins), etc. That Czech pork dish looked a little like 豚の角煮(oh, Kay and Zookatsu just mentioned that along with chashu). I have yet to find any really decent taco places in Japan? There's great food of just about all types and maybe I just haven't looked closely enough. There is Taco Bell (which I'm not too proud to say I like), but again, the problem is that TB is supposed to be cheap, 2am food, but in Japan, they are also pricey same with Subway and, the last time I tried Subway, all the options that are available in the US are not. It's like if a Japanese person went to the US and was asked to pay like $20 for ramen. Love lamb. There is a place in the Omotesando Echika called the Omotesando Grill which used to have really good lamb chops, but since covid, I haven't been back and I just checked on Tabelog and their entire menu has changed. They used to have like grilled beef, pork, lamb, etc. Now, they look like skillets? こんにゃく初めて?😛🤣 I dunno, though Kay, waffles aren't that much harder than pancakes so long as you have a waffle iron and you can make passable fried chicken if you have a good recipe, too. I bet you and Zookatsu could do it at your home. Phil and Linda have great taste and sound like great cooks. Zookatsu may have gotten a bit spoiled, to be perfectly honest. I'm not sure the average American family would pull off everything they did most days. There were many of us who grew up on frozen dinners and hot pockets 🤣 Looking forward to Part 2!
