As an American who is taking a few weeks in japan at the moment. I've already noticed i have slimmed down a decent amount, considering all the walking and pedestrian-friendly infrastructure. It's possible to burn calories without thinking about it. I'm not even obese but the portions are way more favorable in japan. Everything is walkable, accessible through the metro. I can really appreciate the care Japan puts in their food, even their desserts are well balanced and only have mild sweetness with distinct but subtle flavors! I'm really going to miss Japan and it's food. The food industry in America is extremely predatory and focuses on making the "cheapest" most addictive foods out there. Full of fat and sugar. I'm sick of it. I wish it would change. 😢
I have lost 40 pounds (18kg) since I moved to Japan three years ago. When I lived in America, I didn't eat as much as the people in your video, but now I certainly eat differently in Japan-less bread, fewer potatoes, less junk food, fewer sweets and much smaller portions.
