Did a s summon straight through to Shooting Star, revive Stardust, and person quit. Then I was reminded why I stopped playing the game. The PvP is horribly unbalanced in comparison to the regular game play. You’d have more fun playing against friends, since you can laugh at the bad hands you get. Even though in each deck. There are only a very rare handful of ways this could happen. You’d almost never get these results from other duels. I thought after the long time I was gone, they would stop trying to manipulate the PvP system. Hasn’t changed one bit, and the connection issues are still a problem. I just end up playing against Vagabonds at the most. Which offers a very high challenge without the ridiculous manipulation of the deck system. I think in PvP I had ever only had maybe 4 or 5 actual duels that were neck and neck, and that was the most fun I had with it. Where your strategies actually matters. In those few instances, I would manage to do a turn around most of the time. Other than that, would just play with friends. Since we can laugh at how unlucky we supposedly get. Back when I used to use a magician deck. Pretty much all of my cards were centered around summoning from my hand and deck(Only very few could not do this). So I never lost even against Vagabonds, yet PvP? Four or five times in a row I would get the worst possible hand. I didn’t quit as well, I stuck it out for a few turns before I realize what specific order my cards would come in. The recent Vagabond I did though, I was taking a beating. Though my cards were not unusable. I was blocked by three strong monsters. One card left in my hand, 700 life points. However, the enemy had 2000 life points due to using a self damaging effect. As a result, it came down to my last card. I got the one card I needed, swapped in for Junk Synchron. Then synchro straight through to Shooting Star. From there I needed to reveal at least two tuner. And that was what made me win, I revealed exactly two. 😂 So at least the Vagabond provides a hard challenge without trying to cheat you into losing. If you lose, it is because you missed your opportunity most of the times

Just to remind anyone, This the only song in Yugioh history to receive a theme song with Lyrics, not a instrumental. The production studio did a excellent job with the soundtrack for this series, matching the style and mood with interesting plot development in each season. To me, no other series in Yugioh has come close to the epicness of the 5D's Era. (After watching Sevens, 2 characters got their own insert songs, I still prefer 5ds over Sevens)

Ah of Pokémon was half as epic as this, it’d be worth playing again. Hell got me thinking, if they changed up how battles work in this sense. As in, add in something like Synchro summons to the game. Then add in special abilities. Say if a Pokémon has an ability to remove itself from the field. Turn one a substitute Pokémon takes its place, turn two the Pokémon that’s removed from play uses a joint attack before the second Pokémon goes away. Ya know, change it up to keep people coming. Back to the point, you’d never really think card games on motorcycles could be that good, but man, it was awesome lol

This is one of the most epic songs in all of Yugioh simply because it is the only original piece composed solely for one monster's introduction to ever grace the entire franchise (even Obelisk's Dub god theme wasn't originally composed for Obelisk, but is just an older piece of music reused and remixed) Not to mention the execution of it's summon was just brilliant. The timing, and the way it cleared away the cloud cover creating the allusion of it being surrounded in he light of God's embrace. Just pure brilliance.

I never managed to finish 5Ds when i was younger but i finally finished the series in JP sub almost solely to justify listening to Clear Mind for the first time. It was worth it, and brought back something that ive been missing in my heart and soul since i was a child. 5Ds gave me hope again, and in a time where "bonds" and friendship are scarce, i now have the strength to push foward and change my future. I have had duels, where I revealed 5 tuners. One for each barrier the opponent put up. And then when they were down. Had two to three attacks remaining, so here is me yelling. “Battle! Shooting Star Dragon attack!” XD Combo with Stardust release to negate their effects. Just keep attacking until their life is no more.

Synchro-summons really did feel like the best inclusion. They were power creep, but they were fun power creep, and added a degree of fun complexity, in the best way, they were easy to understand, but could end up with synchro-decks containing a ridiculous number of possible combos. Nowdays, looking at decks like Satellars, Kozmo, or Masked Heroes, it feels like I know exactly what the person playing the decks is going to do, and that's without even playing them myself.

Synchro decks could be broken, but at least player needed to learn a sequence of moves and combinations to squeeze out everything from synchro-centric deck. After that most decks became waaay easier to understand, making broken boos monsters with no effort. And then came Links, nuked the shit out of the game and Synchro-centric decks as we know are no more, besides Needlefiber shenanigans but it's not the same...

The lame final episodes (I mean come on, Yusei got a 1v1 with Antinomy in a duel surrounding a star. The others had random tag duels against random opponents). Not saying Zexal is better. But its second season, Zexal Second as well as its ending were pretty good. IMO 1. Arc V is the best yugioh series yet, unless it screws up in the future. 2. A 5d's Second would be awesome, I want it for when arc v concludes. A 5d's with more character development, like Fate Zero or Game of Thrones maybe.

What people (and pretty sure Konami themselves), don't realize, is that this is what we wanted Yugioh to be. 5D's in my opinion, was the most adult relatable series amongst all others, and not just because the main character was an adult himself. From episode 1, we all knew this show had something to prove. and it did, with a beautiful introduction of archetypes, synchro monsters (duh), and of course, what might just be the greatest plots ever thought up of in Yugioh history. (Don't get me wrong the original show was great but...just remember compared to 5D's, lesser rules were being broken.) I remember when I first saw Yusei reveal Shooting star dragon. I could hardly believe what I had just watched, the duel felt like an all out battle with a racing twist to it, rather than just a card game, and as the theme might suggest, I felt like I was being moved at the same time, at a very fast pace. I think what I liked most about this show is that not everything revolved around fucking yugioh. The show was abit realistic unlike Zexal and Arc-V where everything in society was related to dueling somehow. No, in 5D's it's a bit more realistic. Politics, crime, illegal racing activity, it's so much better than a childish cover up like dueling related stuff in every part of their society. Notice how the original Yugioh didn't do this either? instead they were a bit more mystic, which is nothing compared to what Arc-v and Zexal did, though they were smply just si-fi'ing the hell out of it. Now a days, the modern yugioh shows are entirely aimed at dumb kids who are privileged enough to tune into 4kids and so they have to dumb down the show for them so that it's "kid friendly". Konami should focus on the shows a bit more now that the card gamei n real life has taken a bit of a too competitive turn. I really think if they tried, and did something with as much hype as 5D's managed to produce, I truly believe more and more people will remember what we played Yugioh for. So we can be like the characters we admired with our imagination. not for the sake of winning and being better than everyone else...

Brandon Shavitz I couldn't agree with you more. They had one successful project that was 5D's. People say they can't understand the game cause it got complicated when synchros came, but they never bothered. I loved 5D's it was a childhood you could enjoy. Yu-Gi-Oh VRAINS isn't too bad (I know this comment is old and all but just an update to you), it kinda has a 5D's vibe to it, but more so about the world in which they're dueling, which is basically like a full dive MMO world (Like Sword Art Online) is close to ruins. Getting major vibes with MC likeness to Yusei as well. But I do agree with your statements. 5D's was the pinnacle of the Yu-Gi-Oh Anime, and pretty much when the TCG/OCG was really actually fun. There was so many competitive decks that came, and it's almost as if none of them really had any strict way of building said decks. They were really free, and really captured what the main part of YGO Dueling was about, build your OWN deck and duel against people.

Y’know, there’s a reason Shooting Star Dragon is now and forever my favourite card in the entire game. This song is one of them. When watching the anime, you think Yusei’s theme will signal the first time he does and Accel Synchro, and I liked that they teased it as such. You know when people say that "this song is the best anime song they've ever heard" or "that song beats all the others"? I am usually careful with such claims because most of the time they are an overexaggeration. However, after much reflection and a lot of time spent listening to different songs, I can say that, in my personal, humble and entirely subjective opinion, Clear Mind is the best song ever made in anime history.
