I honestly think Kurosaki had the best character development because it felt the most natural. He didn't just randomly have an epiphany after one duel and suddenly become a new person. He slowly mellowed out as the series progressed and I think it worked perfectly.

In the original, I hear that the other characters simply called him Fusion, but that is just based on TGS Anime's video for the Yu Boys and some of the FanFiction out there where Yuri calls him Fusion-kun in an Oneshot that takes place with a different ending in mind where the Yu Boys returned to being separate people and same with the Bracelet Girls, and a couple of times Yuri called him Fusion to get under his skin in an alternative version of Celina's betrayal, truthfully if I was Konami, or whoever is in charge of the anime, I would have had the ending be the Dimensions becoming one again but the Yu Boys and Bracelet Girls would be separate characters again, and I would have had the Action Turbo Duels be requiring Speed Counters to use any Spell Cards, best of both worlds after all, and do something where my favorite Yu Boy's redemption would have made more sense, Yuri suddenly being friendly with the other three just because they shared the same body now was lame and stupid on their part, I was expecting some type of arc for him where much like Dennis(who has my favorite redemption arc in Yu-Gi-Oh! since Jack Atlas) or Sora, but without the friendship connection before the redemption

Serena could have been the best girl in YGO ever and to me she's one of my favorite character. It wasn't just the fiery and strong personality. It's sad that we've been waiting for a proverbial tough girl character in YGO who actually backs it up. Sherry could have gotten there and Aki was almost there but played second string to Yusei, Jack, and Crow hard. I like Yuuna Inazuma rougher voice, I like Serena's colors as a play on the polymerization style, Her deck was a cool theme and the most pragmatic. It didn't have fancy combos just overwhelming straight as an arrow force. But in true YGO fashion It wasn't long before Serena went to "Useless female character" land

SAWATARI should have made the list. He was actually one of my favourite characters. The only thing I didn't like about his character is they decided to keep him silly and goofy throughout the whole series. I really thought he would become a serious duelist after he joined 'The Lancers'. But that sadly never happened. Also, his battle against Zarc was the best one in my opinion. He was the only one that wiped out ZARC cocky smile out of his face.

Shun was definitely the most badass character ARC-V had to offer. Yuri (Yugo was close to be my number one yu-boy, but they just mistreated his character a bit. Can't argue that Yuri got redeemed to easily, but think about it. Why was he obsessed with Ima koso hitotsu ni with Yugo and Yuya? He claimed that it was for power. Well, not really. That was Zarc's influence. In truth, since no one liked him in his childhood, he figured out that since Yugo, Yuya, Yuto, and himself were originally one person, the only ones that would like him in logic would be himself, right? That's why he was extremely nice to Yuya and Yugo aftermath. Because he has friends now.) is my yu-boy. Serena is my bracelet girl.

I dropped Arc V after Yuya remembered that he is Zarc and switched Odd-Eyes to defense mode...I started to cringe more and more the longer it lasted so I can't really speak on how Yuri acted. However, I can understand Yuri cooperating with Yuya because: 1. He acknowledged Yuya for being the first person to ever beating him in a duel 2. He knows that Yuya is part of him and vice versa. He was looking forward to fuse with him the moment he understood that they are both one being.

Good list, good video, and good channel. I've been watching quite a few videos from you over the last few days, and you're re-stimulating a bit of my love for the Yugioh franchise (despite how badly I was burned by Arc V's ending; the bracelet girls deserved SO much better, especially Serena and Yuzu - not to mention the countless other problems the ending had...). Funnily enough, our rankings of the Yu-boys are exact opposites of each other. I think Yugo was the best by a decent margin (he just had so much personality and was so damn endearing, not to mention his wonderful chemistry with Yuzu resulting in sheer joy every time the two of them shared the screen), followed by Yuya (not perfect but he was a good protagonist and I always hoped the best for him), Yuri (there was just too little payoff for all of his buildup; Zarc kind of ruined him), and Yuto (he just didn't have a lot to work with), in that order. I'm also of the opinion that Sora is by far the best Arc V character with absolutely no competition. He was so well characterized and well-developed, and his mere presence elevated the show every second he was on-screen. Not only is he my favorite character in Arc V, he's one of my favorite characters in the franchise.

I really don't understand all the hate for Yuya. The common complaint I hear is that he forces his believes onto others. But so did Judai in a way. Yuya's character is similar to Judai. Both believe in dueling as a form of entertainment. Judai for entertaining the competitors and Yuya for entertaining the audience. But whereas Judai has to learn dueling can be dark and a battle for life and death. Yuya refuses to believe it. It's a very realistic perspective for Yuya's character to take knowing all we do about him. He's the optimist, he believes any problem can be fixed just by making people smile. He's the dynamic to the rest of the cast during the war arcs. Maybe it's cause when I play Yu-Gi-Oh! I play to have fun and I really don't like how serious people who play this game can be. Yuya is not meant to represent the fans of this game who take the whole game seriously, he's meant to represent the fans like me who believe dueling should first and foremost be about making sure everyone has fun.

Dylan, I don't think anyone wold ever blame you for putting Yuya 8th because quite honestly the writers forced his ideology down the throats of EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER in the show, I mean hell the last 10 episodes were written to make a baby smile just so that egao would be relevant to the plot. To me Yuya's strongest moment was in Synchro Dimension when Jack told him to stop relying on the words of his father and evolve his own power which he did by taking Pendulum Summoning to it's next level by Pendulum-Synchro summoning Nirvana High Paladin but after that they completely went back on all of that and he ended up wanting to entertain and hold vessal to psychopaths. That said you're omission of Yugo is honestly likely going to get a few dislikes especially when you literally gave Yuto credit for all the things Yugo literally embodied as someone whom actually fought for those they cared about.

I personally liked Gongenzaka the best, and felt he was given the short stick by being friends with Yuya. He had an interesting deck concept, a likeable character that was a great foil for others (Yuya, Satawarai, Dennis) but it seemed as though he was always used for fodder. Ah, well.

Yuri and Selena, such wasted potential. I would love them to have more background story, for example they used to have a bond, a relationship similar to other Yu Boys and Bracelet Girls, but something or someone intervened and torn them apart. That would make an interesting reason why Selena betrayed the Lancers (instead of the brainwash parasite), because she had to come back to the Academy to find a way to save Yuri and stop him.

I liked Yuya because he was overly emotional and prone to depression and angry outbursts despite wanting to make everyone smile. This makes his character much more complex than it might seem at first glance. He is definitely one of the better written characters. In my list he would probably be number 3 or 2. Number 1 is Yuto for me.

I thought Yuya had an interesting concept to him: He was an entertainer duelist and he wanted to make people smile. BUT, he was also part of the main antagonist of the series, and when he went berserk, he would defeat people without remorse. This made him have an internal crisis on trying to stick to his ideology, but ultimately couldn't because of going berserk. This made me like him, especially in ep. 125 where he scared the shit out of Serena and Ruri with his cold personality. But, that being said, throughout the Sycnhro Dimensions and XYZ Dimensions, he definitely became kind of whiny with his entertainment philosophy, even though the duels were pretty good. Once he became Zarc, he didn't seem as interesting to me, as he was just destroying while being dormant inside Zarc's mind, and not really doing anything to fight it. He wasn't my least favorite of the 6 main protagonists, but he also wasn't my favorite either.

I just finished Arc-V recently, and if I have one thing to say, it's that Reiji was an intimidating duel presence ever since he stepped on-screen. Between his complex deck, his multilayered strategy, and the unwavering results he got throughout the show, he felt like a final boss in that last duel in a way that no character in Yugioh really has before imo. Defeating the protagonist early, pulling ALL of the strings, and not really losing at all anywhere in between. In Leo vs Yuya + Reiji, he set up Yuya for victory. For Good Guys v Zarc, Reiji did more damage than the rest of the people combined, and almost won WITHOUT the Energy cards. Even the times he lost he wasn't made to look like a chump for it. It's a shame he didn't duel more. He had a presence on the screen that I didn't feel with any other yugioh rival. Some lack the presence, some don't really win. Reiji had both. And a final battle between him and Yuya was the best duel to end on, even if the circumstances of the ending are suspect.

Ute was always great. The only thing that bugged me for the 112 episodes i got to: Yuya only accepted his help ONCE (IF THAT) After he was absorbed. If Yuya accepted his help more, i think that would've made him so much more credibility. I absolutely love Ute's character, and was almost sad that he had to go so early, but it was necessary to progress.

I guess I'm the odd one out here, but I really like Yuya. His character is one of the reasons why I even got back into yugioh in the first place, so much so that I even cosplayed as him for my favorite cosplay I've ever done. Not to say that I didn't like the other Yu-boys also and that his dueling did get stale, but the tomato-head was always a joy that I will remember fondly.

There's one reason I like yuya and that's it looks like that the writers showed his struggle with depression due to the fact that he couldn't entertain at the beginning the synchro people which always seems to me like good trait. I think the issue with Yuya that at times he becames too messiah and loses his human qualities which I hate that doing it so half assed. But I agree with about Serena, Shun, Dennis, Sora which all were great characters and I think they could made them even better. About Reiji I hate that the confrontation between Yuya and Reiji was never strong enough to me. I think Jack unfortunately was more rival to Yuya than Reiji. But I do like him as character. I love Yuto and as you talked about him I really love him and dark rebellion which is my favorite dragon. He was always the cool guy but he really couldn't just forgive for what academia done easily which made him very interesting character. I wish they all get their own body back, it's kinda sad that all the others going to be stuck inside Yuya and Yuzu which I would like to end differently in case where they live in their own dimension but can visit each other 😊 Yuto and Shun helps with reconstruction of heartland. I like Yugo with his guffiness and funny and cool at the same time. I think the issue with him that wasn't as involved and I wish they made him connect more with the others.

So for me, I do like Joeri, and I think his switch to being a "good guy" is because of Rei(ra) purging Zarc's soul of the actual demon. Its just a theory, but that's what I think the writers were going for.

This is gonna be a fun list to make obviously my favorite Yugioh Arc-V character is you Dylan, but since that's obvious I'll give my list without my obvious favorite character :P. So after stating my favorites I'll explain beneath that individually why I enjoyed these characters from most to least with brief explanations for all of them except my top 3 which for them I'll give much larger reasons as to why I love their characters so much, but with that said here's my list: #1. Sora #2. Yuri #3. Yugo #4. Shun #5. Dennis #6. Reiji #7. Serena #8. Yuzu #9. Yuya #10. Jack #1). So why I love Sora most is because I love is Firghtfur fusion deck so much I'm currently assembling it in RL so I can start using it against my friends IRL, but more so than that in the beginning of the show Sora was a character I enjoyed following he was a pretty cool and cocky kid that really put it to Yuya he solidified as my favorite the moment he dueled Shun from then on I just enjoyed seeing him appear as he progressed though he become a better person as shown in synchro arc and thing is people will say his development stopped there, but I lightly disagree his peak moment in the end of the show that solidified his development was when he faced Zarc and tried so desperately to call out to Yuya his entertainment mentor, and that right there hit me in the feels, plus the reason he's placed at this spot is because his character had quite a bit of dimension to it from the beginning to the end while others on this list took more time to flesh themselves out. So for all his development and overall enjoyment he's brought me he takes my #1 spot. #2). Ah Yuri, my personal favorite Arc-V villain this guy right here I had hyped up all throughout the first 100 episodes and when we received opening 5 and I saw him face Yugo my hype climaxed only to be furthered by the reveal of his ace Starving Venom fusion dragon which is debateably one of my favorite monsters in this show outside of Jacks Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend and Yugos Clear Wing Synchro Dragon for the reason that this dragon was the full definition if ever of a true monster when this thing was first summoned the way it ate its opponents was just phenomenal, but the strongest reason why I love Yuri is because I really sympathize with his character because all his childhood unlike Yuya and the other Yu boys Yuri had nobody no friends nobody to watch over him he didn't even really have Leo there for him he was alone and people say his kindness at the end of the show was forced, but I disagree because if you really think back to when he was dueling Yuya and even when he dueled Yugo he was obsessed with becoming one with them many chalk that up as "Oh well Zarcs just made him crazy/brought out his full evil" No Yuri WAS legit evil due to his lonliness, but that very same lonliness was why he wanted to become one with Yuya and Yugo so badly and why he was nice to them in the end he wanted somewhere to belong and after merging with them he had found his place and somewhat gained friends, and that is why Yuri places so high on this list taking the silver medal so to say for me. #3). Yugo my boy the second character I loved most throughout the show only to be out done by Yuri simply because Yuri's development superseded Yugo's, but now Ima dive into why I love this guy so much to give him the bronze medal so to speak. At first upon seeing Yugo in the second opening I was hyped up because I'ma Synchro duelist and my boy Yugo was the first GOOD Synchro duelist to take the stage naturally I built him up with hype only to be pleased with his ace Clear Wing Synchro dragon which right after Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend takes my medal for my favorite monster/ace monster in this series just everything about Yugo's Speedroid deck and Clear Wing as well as Crystal Wing just I'm the biggest fan of them I like them almost as much as I love Sora's Frightfur fusion deck, but the reason why I like his deck and himself less than I do Sora and Yuri is because Yugo didn't get as much development not as many duels, and not as much screen time the show really did him a disservice and as I've said before imo mistreated him the most in Arc-V mainly because his development was so good he built a duel runner with Rin made his epic Speedroid deck with Rin and was an OK duelist beneath Rin for a while who surpassed her after getting Clear Wing, the guy loved Rin more than the other Yu-Boys loved their Bracelet girls I'm willing to bet on that, and lets just be real here Yugioh Ships are always welcomed ;) seriously though I loved Rin because of Yugo I wouldn't of otherwise the guy always gave me a good laugh when he appeared and his duel with brainwashed Rin was one of my favorite duels potentially my absolute favorite duel from this series because of the weight and meaning it carried, and I'll be honest I expected him to destroy Rin and take her back in a cute hug scene only to be surprised by him losing epicly his Duel runner that they made together shatter apart and his deck scatter around him as she left him there to pass out never before has character interactions in Yugioh had me on edge and as hyped up as these not to mention Yugo's fated battles with Rin and Yuri just showed how amazing of a character he was meant to be and I truly appreciated that, and that is why he takes my 3rd spot on this list had the show of fleshed him out more he's definitely rival Sora to take my #1 spot. #4). Shun was simply a badass, and he gave the show intensity I think most Yugioh animes need I appreciate him so much he takes my 4th spot, but he was overshadowed by others for me personally. #5). Dennis my man made it to this spot because his entertainment dueling always brought a smile to my face I deeply appreciated his character, and even though he didn't make it higher he did make it to my top 5, plus before I wrap this explanation up and say my goodbyes to Arc-V it's as Dennis said "THE SHOW MUST GO ON!!", and go on it shall. (I had to put his catchphrase in I just had to X'D) #6). Reiji is the man he's a boss unlike any other had he of had more duels and more development he may of placed higher, but I love the guy quite a bit, but alas I prefer 5 others to him because they were fleshed out more so than he was. #7). Serena was a cool beauty whose deck is a guilty pleasure of mine TBH Serena and her deck both as a whole are a guilty pleasure for me her half animal cute monsters I was like "Oh my" every time she summoned them X'D plus not gonna lie I'll always have a soft spot for blue haired girls in any series hence my love for Serena lmao. #8). It disappoints me Yuzu isn't higher on this list because at the start she was a gem for this series only to be ruined by being forced into a princess peach type of character, but in memory of who she was at the beginning, and out of respect for her awesome Meliodius deck and one of my favorite Fusion monsters Bloom Diva Yuzu you earned a spot on this list. #9). Yuya making this list was because he was a kind of character I enjoyed watching progress through the story and slowly grow as a person I'll miss seeing Yuya and I wished he'd of gotten better treatment from his series, but he didn't so Yuya you make this spot out of appreciation. #10). Jack made this spot entirely because he was my favorite 5Ds character I loved seeing him appear in Arc-V, and my favorite monster of all time is Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend leaving the King off this list would just be disgraceful on my part. I read all your comment XD. Yeah, I agree most of your ranking. I mean, it's very true what you said about Yuri. Most people just don't get it. It's true that he had a redemption off-screen, but I really sympathize with him and his loneliness. The only thing that bothered me is why Yugo and Yuto are still tolerating him. Or maybe they sympathized with him? Who knows? If they just showed that they accepted Yuri to be a part of them, I would have loved ARC-V more than ever. ARC-V is still my favorite, because they have amazing characters. It's just that they spent way too much time on the synchro arc that they couldn't focus on the Xyz and Fusion arc, which were the most hyped arcs in the show. Well to sum it up : Shitty plot. Amazing characters.

Well thing about the plot is the Synchro arc to me was fine and the XYZ arc despite its forced/rushed character development for the villains like Edo and the Tyler Twins otherwise there wasn't anything else to do there the real shit storm in terms of the plot was the rushing of the Fusion arc that arc they should of developed it in a better manner also they could of given the series more episodes, but since sales apparently weren't that great they had a smaller amount of episodes. They tried to do something, but didn't have the time for it so they axed it up and tried to make it work, but ultimately failed x.x

Even though I mostly agree with the list, I think it needs to be pointed out that Yuya at the start of Arc-V was suffering from heavy depression and the whole series was a journey for him to grow into a confident person. As for his reliance on action cards, first: every previous protagonist would ALWAYS draw the exact card they needed (Yugi and Judai are particularly guilty of this, not to mention Yuma who flat out CREATED them). Second: EVERY character uses action cards. Heck, Reiji told the lancers to use them at their hearts content! Sure, Yuya is luckier than most, but everybody uses action cards more or less equally and usually getting the perfect card (Shun vs Sora for one). Third: Yuya was taught dueling through action cards. Yusho INVENTED action duels, and You Show Duel School specifically teaches their students to take full advantage of the action field. Plus, action cards are a way for Yuya to connect with his missing dad.

Gongenzaka was a Lancer, but doesn't use action cards (until 143, because his level 12 synchro monster can banish spells and trap cards in the Graveyard, so he can still use his monsters' effects to their full extent).

Pretty solid list. Definitely didn't like Yuto as much as you did. Not that there was anything really wrong with him, I just didn't find him interresting, probably had a lot to do with being in Yuya's body for the majority of the series. My list would go something like: 10. *Idk* (I legitimately couldn't think of another original character I liked enough... maybe Yusho or the LDS kid who played X-Sabers lol?) 9. *Yuya* (I think it says a lot about the series that it's protagonist won't be in many people's top 5, but he had enough moments for me to justify a top ten spot) 8. *Reira* (before that Ray garbage I thought he was a pretty interesting character, like he had all this dueling power but was afraid to use it, also what the hell were C/C/Cs??) 7. *Serena* (Pretty much exactly what you said) 6. *Yugo* (I thought Yugo was a great change of pace from Yuya/Yuto, he was motivated but had some genuinely funny moments, like when he thought Yuzu was dead etc..) 5. *Sawatari* (I never thought I would have put him this high, but after rewatching some of ARC-V, he really was one of the more memorable characters) 4. *Yuri* (What's not to like. As you said, he was essentially the best villain on the show, his duel with Asuka was one of the most unique duels in any Yu-Gi-Oh! series lol) 3. *Reiji* (I'm guessing he was supposed to be this series' Kaiba, and while he's nowhere near that level, I found him to be a pretty cool and mysterious character) 2. *Shun* (could be number 1 in all honesty, but the 'ARGH! WHERE'S RURI?' got a little old) 1. *Sora* (Just a great character overall from start to finish, plus Fluffals are really fun)

Maybe it's been all the jerk rivals I've seen over the years in several shoes, but I like to see rivals who are strong in their own right, but will take up assistance if they find themselves overwhelmed.

Interesting. My own list: #1: Reiji. Probably the best thing about him is that not only he is amongst the most intelligent "rival" type characters in the series, but he actually subverts almost everything about rivals. He is not arrogant( Though he is confident ), he is not selfish, nor a jerk. And, while his habit of always staiyng one step ahead of everyone makes him give off a "mastermind" vibe that probably is what caused everyone to expect him to be the main villain... He actually really ISNT. He is actually about as heroic as Yusho, just cooler and more pragmatic about it. Yet still, even though you see him do absolutely nothing wrong, you somehow are still never sure about him. #2: Yuto. If Yuya is the optimist that was never broken, Yuto is the optimist that WAS broken. The best and saddest part about him is, as said, he never really abandons his desire to use duels to smile. He still wants to be that Yuya-like optimist he used to be: However, he also cannot let go of his desire for revenge... #3: Kurosaki. I put him lower on the list solely because he never expressed any remorse torwards the innocent Fusion users which he carded while in Standart. Otherwise, what you said pretty much describes why I like him already. #4: Sergey A cybernetic criminal whose demeanour shifted between a calm, mechanical demeanour( Side effect of his brainwashing ), and when he acts as his actual normal personality... He becomes even worst, because he is a batshit insane duel sadomazoquist. He also used Earthbound monsters, which I love. What else is there to say? #5: Michel Roget. And here is when the unpopular choices start! Though Michel Roget was admittedly very patethic on his last moments, I am pretty sure it was intentional from the writers part. Michel has got to have some weakness, after all: And his is that, when things dont go just as he planned, he freaks out. With that said, just how much of a genious of manipulation he was up until that point more then makes up for it. It also helps that he was probably by far and wide the most cruel and amoral villain on Arc-V... #6: Dennis. I would explain why, but you did such a good job out of explaining what makes his character intersting, I dont even feel I have to. #7: Sora. On HIS case, I only add that... There is this eerie implication about him that SOMETHING horrible happened to him on his childhood. Between the fact he was clearly somewhat insane( Going batshit crazy when dueling with a XYZ user even though most of the time he was a very nice, calm, if somewhat snobbish kid, coming from Academia who is itself a disturbing faction with a taste for brainwashing, and even his deck, which is composed of cute little critters which turn into terrifiyng monsters, through a process that seems very painfull, with then being cut to pieces from inside out. ). And we never find out what it was... #8: Reira. You know, that one is a weird pick, considering that on the beggining, he literally had no personality. But still, he was just so... Eeery, and creepy. Even though he was not a villain, he was still more disturbing then half of the ACTUAL villains in the show. And, when he did started to develop a personality, it was oddly hearthwarming, when you remember how he became the way he is to begin with. #9: Yuri. He just about embodies everything that is disturbing and messed-up about the Academy, and adds a few bits of evil of his own to spice things up. The only reason why he is so low on the list is because, as a duelist, he is... Kind of a one-trick pony, reliyng almost exclusevly on using Super Polymization to summon his Starve Venon Fusion Dragon. A powerfull strategy considering the cards we are talking about, but still a repetitive one( On another thing, his duel against Asuna shows he is still a threat to be respected even without his "one trick pony" deck ). #10: Akaba Leo. Another unpopular choice! Now, the reasons why I think he still deserves to be on this list despite how much of a anti climax his demise was are 2: A: His motivation is still complex enough to make him interesting, especially considering how... It is kind of implied 99% of the damage he caused with his dimmensional war would be undone if he succeeded on his plan, so he is surprisingly not as evil as he superficially seems, and B: He managed to outplay Reiji, even if he just briefly. I repeat: He managed to outplay AKABA REIJI in a duel. Granted, he lost, but only because Yuya pulled a new overpowered monster out of his ass( Seriously, do we ever see Gatling Goblin after that? ). That puts him amongst the top 5 most skilled duelists in Arc-V by default. Granted, he still lost again Zarc... But come on, Zarc has a deck so unfair that he could probably defeat Don Thousand and Dartz in a duel at the same time. Can you blame the guy?

Haters are gonna hate, but I loved Arc V. Things I would've done differently: -Separate the Yu-boys and bracelet girls in the end. -Bring Back Zane and Shark in the xyz arc. -Kaiba as the final antagonist. -Give more duels to the bracelet girls (they' were the deux ex of the anime for God's sake) -Give more duels to Reiji, he was definitely the best duelist of the show. -Create a new original character to interact with Yugo, the same way Yuto had Shun and Yuri had Sora, you know like a sidekick esque character/best friend/rival. -More unpredictable action cards (c'mon... right?) ****What you guys would change?*****

I think you gave Yuya a fair spot on this list. He's not the best Main protagonist, that's a fact, but I did enjoy the duels he brought to us. As for the whole action cards thing, it wasn't my favorite thing per say but I felt that it was a necessary thing for the plot/duel to continue when needed.

I think Yuya is at a good place on the list. Him as a character was very inconsistent. He was pure hearted and I can understand his motives to show dueling as fun. However he lets this "entertainment" dueling style get in the way of progressing as a character and he's only doing it because of his dad. Jack even noticed and pointed it out. "Stop dueling me with borrowed words." So he's just a "eh" kind of character with more unused potential. Also, finally someone whose favorite Yu-Boy is Yuto! Mother of god we're like smallest minority in existence! I love him for pretty much all of the reasons you did. Just seeing him for the first time made me instantaneously love him. He seemed like the cool and idealistic Yugi I wanted from the original Yugioh. I feel like the show might have been better if they didn't kill him off and they let his personality reflect onto Yuya's. That way Yuto could soften up a bit and maybe begin to forgive others for taking his home and Yuya would begin to realize that every duel can't always been fun and game and entertaining. I feel like they really could have had a nice duo dynamic there. Especially with the Odd Eyes and Dark Rebellion combination they had.

I personally don't have a top 10 list but my favorite characters from Arc 5 is Yuya, and Sora and some other characters I like in the series. Favorite Characters in YCO Arc 5 1. Yuya is my favorite YGO main protagonist out of the others. But he's not my favorite YGO character of all time though. I just like his unpredictable style. (Also the second handsome version of Zarc behind Yugo :P) But the only thing I don't like about him is his moody split personality that he show time to time and his naïve and emotional behavior. 2. Sora is my second and last favorite character in the show since he come of as the reasonable and smart person. I also like his personality and character. He seem to be the only one outside of Declan who always uses his brain and understand the situation he is in when others don't. That what make him a very good character and one of my favorites in the show 3. Lulu is my favorite female character in the show. I like her the most out of all the other Ray counterparts. She might not be as popular as Celina or Zuzu but she has one of the nicest personality and is the most feminine out of them all. Not the mention the cutest as well. Not as tomboyish or violent as the other 3 which really make her likeable. Wish she had more screen time though. Characters I like in YGO Arc 5 4. Shay: Very good character with good background. I like his resolve and is one of the coolest character in the show. His backstory and his character development throughout the show make him one of the best in the show. He honestly made Arc 5 a better show and is differently one of the best characters in the show. If Yuya wasn't the leading male character in the show Shay would be. 5. Yugo: He is a good character that really fun and has the best ace monster attack imo. Who don't like that attack name from Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon. Crystal Cataclysmic Strike!!! He can be annoying from time to time but was one of the funniest version of Zarc counterparts and is pretty cool. 6. Yuri: Has got the most interesting character. I like him because of his 3rd wall breaking and Joker personality. He's not as high because he's not a good person compare to the other but his personality is what make him great. 7.Declan: Not so much I like about him since he come off as a robot but he make it into my list. I mostly like him because he's a very skill and smart person. Not really much to say about him but he one of the best duelist and I like how smart and skill he is. 8.Zuzu: Is my second favorite female that I like. She's someone that I like mainly because she develop into a good duelist and isn't a weak female character. She different the second cutest version of Ray counterparts and have some character growth in helping Yuya in the show. But somehow regress after the Synchro Dimension/Friendship Cup Arc with bring her down. But she's a good protagonist. 9.Gong: Now he make it in my list for being a one of Yuya best 4th best buddy. His unorthodox style and purpose in the series in helping Yuya is what make me like him and put him in this list. Even though he mainly a support guy I think his place is worthy in being one of the best characters in the series. 10. Shinji: Common from Synchro Dimension, is a character I also liked. He remind me of Yusei and also a good character. I just like him since he talk about overthrowing Topside. I like his style of dueling since he rely on low level Bees to help build larger number of bees to make them stronger. Even though he went alittle extreme he still has a good personality that I like and made him part of my list. Honorable Mention Characters I also like but not Top 10 Worthy 11. Allen: Minor character from the XYZ dimension he make it because I like his grit attuited and how he care for his friends. When he defended Saya from those two sister that he duel against I liked him. He kind of remind me of Natsu from Fairy Tail. But he wasn't really that important in the series so that why he's so low. 12.Julia: She is my 3rd female character and the last character that I like in my list. The only one I liked from the Leo Duel Academy. She make it here because part of it is that I like her and another is that out of the other 2 Leo School Duelist she actually had a goal and plot relevance in show. And that was to find her teacher. But that was the only one which make her a minor character and the last character that I like.
