Cool profile. I’m personally still on the fence about Dragon Magic simply because through testing it seems to take away from the deck’s consistency - even if simultaneously raising the ceiling. That aside though, what’s the reasoning behind opting to not play Dark Paladin or Photon Strike Bounzer? The former can negate for days and is basically Sky Striker hate with Village not being played while the latter is particularly useful as an alternative to Norito against some match-ups if Navigation is already in the grave.

I believe so. If you remove Navigation, it drains the effect, making something like Mirror Force simply fizzle.

Yes, it's still a spell speed 2 so you can remove it and it will negate it. You can activate it from the graveyard during your opponents turn as well.

Keeper of dm is very good, but have a problem, needs the normal summon. The normal summon in dm deck is for mag. rod. If you summon D. Knight using keeper , you yet need a card to search eternal soul and rod need do this job. To summon dragon knight i use it: navigation summon performapal trump (p.effect.:fusion summon using monsters in your field; m.effect: trib. it and search poly from deck or grave to your hand), and use dm to summon imduk (dragon material fusion).

Keeper is itself a dragon though, which solves the issue of material and poly search in one card. All you need to get rolling is Dark Magician in hand.

JustWatch UnlimitedBladeWorks, Keeper can only search normal spells that include "Poly" or "Fusion" in your name. Any engine fusion in main deck can brick, the best thing for dm is a link monster to do fusions (my dream to new support). How much less cards you use to summon a monster, he turns better. Using keeper you spend a engine fusion using at least 4 cards in main deck (3 keepes + 1 poly). With perfomapal trump you spend 2 cards (1 p. trump + 1 poly). How much less cards your deck use to work it will make your deck turns better, because you have more space in main deck to place cards for a competitive duel, like: hand traps, counter traps or other things to stop the opponent moves.

You act like every opening hand is Rod/Prophecy + Keeper. Not true. Usually either/or. If you have both, you might also have Eternal Soul and then just go for Keeper into DMtDK and save Rod for next turn. If you have both, but need Eternal Soul, don't go for Keeper until you get ES or that is your only move. Either way, I saw you mention Poly. Do not use Poly, use Odd-Eyes Fusion. If you hard draw Odd-Eyes Fusion, going 2nd (common in a going 1st format) and the opponent controls 2 monsters, you automatically get Vortex by fusing 2 Rebellions, or if you have DM + Odd-Eyes Fusion you get DMtDK right then and there. But lets say you don't hard draw Odd-eyes Fusion and draw Monk or Keeper, you can still search Odd-Eyes Fusion and Fuse from the hand as if it were regular Polymerization. Trump is a horrible hard draw, but could be a decent option with Navigation (Don't forget Apprentice gives you a free DM), but run it if you want...

Ebon High Magician can be used as a healthy alternative compared to Ebon Illusion. Sure you lose some attack and popping power but u can activate quick spell cards such as illusion magic or inheritance from ur hands or traps cards. Then if this card or any other xyz summoned monster is destroyed u can special summon 1 dark spellcaster type and destroy 1 card on the field.

People are complaining because keeper of dragon magic is unsearchable! In fact the very best DM deck profile I've played was with one timaeus and skill drain, 3 solemn cards, 3 pot of duality and card of demise! I like keeper of dragon magic's profile, but it is very weak against handtraps!!

its easy with a dark magician deck with cards like magician navigation gives you 2 at once. also if you use illusion magic you can get 2 DM's in your hand at once. with eternal soul you can summon them quite quickly

You're wrong, sir. Rivalry of Warlord affect both players and makes each of them send monsters to field for the graveyard, until they control only 1 type of monster. Eternal Soul only make your own DM's monsters unnafected by your OPPONENT card effects.

I think Gozen Match is better for the side deck, instead of maining it. Also, Cosmo Brain would have some good sinergy with this low level dragon monster, since this would bring back the material cosmo brain discarded of your hand to the graveyard to be special summoned.

Why not use Summoner Monks so you have a more consistent way to get Keeper out? As this deck currently is, it's no more consistent at getting Dark Magician Dragonite out as it is with Eye of Timaeus, other than its now easier to do first turn (if it was even possible first turn before).

I mean you can turbo out the fusion.. but you most likely won´t have eternal soul (+ circle) since you use up your normal summon for that dragon. After that you can´t use Rod or the spellbook engine and are stuck with only a 3k beater. Your fusion monster is useless on its own and you most likely will get OTK´d.

Hawk Sage use it like polymerization and add a couple of odd eyes dragon type monsters to the extra deck, this way you can use your extra deck as one of the materials summon dark magician the dragon knight, it’s also searchable by keeper of dragon magic

You're so right. The idea of this deck is pretty good but it requires you to open up with keeper of the dragon magic, which is otherwise unsearchable. Sure there is plenty of draw power in the deck, but those draw cards are also unsearchable except through prophecy ... which uses the normal summon... so no normal summon of dragon magic. If you're gonna put in all this draw to get to dragon magic, might as well just play eye of timeaus instead and draw into that- heck you don't even NEED the normal summon in that case. In fact we might as well just go back to playing elemental hero prisma. Again, the idea of this deck is good but it realise too heavily on a first turn normal summon of a monster that isn't searchable. Just play dark magician regularly and bump up the timeaus count if fusion summoning is that important - doesn't hurt the deck as much as changing everything for this combo.

Difference here is all you need is either Dark Magician, Apprentice Illusion Magician and or Summoners Art with Keeper of Dragonic Magic and you have a 1st Turn Fusion. Because Poly is the searched card here. The other way around is Dark Magic Veil with Eye Of Temiaus aaaaaand a Dark Magician. Seems like more cards which are not searchable to make the play. So it skips a step, makes for an easier 1st turn Fusion. Where Poly is searched for by Keeper. Where as Eye of Temiaus is just not searchable. A dead keeper in hand is Allure of Darkness fodder. Bada boom.
