To be fair, based on the way he seems to be balding, if we assume Yugi's Grandpa is balding under that cap (using it to hide the bald spot because being left with bangs and a top bald spot looks really awkward, obviously =P), there's almost a familiar resemblance to the hair there, since the younger Solomon Muto had similar 2 tone spikey hair (Gold and graying already in his middle years), and, if you cared to reach, you could totally consider the 3 gray spike on each side baldness as a trait inherited from his Grandpa. Shame about how much faster his baldness progressed by comparison, though. . . . Oh, huh, you sort of mention that at the end.

After watching, I don't believe Roku IS Yugi. But I do believe that he could have maybe been an apprentice or student of Yugi, who might have been the original founder of that duel lodge. And as we know, Roku only appeared to have 1 student at a time. It may be possible that Roku could have been Yugi's sole apprentice, and thus possibly inherited his deck. Just my theory though.

I think there would be two different Yugis! They are basically two timelines and universes that run parallel to each other. The only major difference is that something happened to Seto Kaiba in the Zexal one! Hence why there is no Kaiba Corp

It all happened when zorc was defeated it created a new timeline in wich yugi has no millenium puzzle so his wih for inding friends does not come true so kaiba does not hear about the rare card of yugi's grandpa as a result he never loses to yugi/atem. And after that he is killed by pegasus so we have kc.Yugi having no friends an being bulied decides to go somewhere that he can not be found

In GX, Black Luster Soldier was stated to be extremely rare (almost as a myth, like the Egyptian Gods), and Yugi apparently has the only copy. Also, the GX version of his deck (that Dimitri uses) was apparently made to match the TCG, so that's why BLS Envoy was used, instead of the original BLS, and also Dark Magician of Chaos (instead of Magician of Black Chaos).

BUT, Not technically related, since I've seen your OG timeline video, but pause the video at 11:28 and look closely at the jacket of the enemy. There are a few things I notice: 1. it's like the antagonists of the first season of 5Ds. 2. The birdlike design of the jacket seems similar to Crow. 3. (Not at the timestamp) Chaos' eyes are heterochromatic, which is what happens to Judai (Jaden in the ENG Dub) when he obtains the cool power. Just something I found interesting. Another point regarding putting the duelist in the shoes of the monster can be seen in the Duelist Kingdom art in Duel Monsters. When Yami/Yugi duels against Yami Bakura, Bakura puts Yugi & Co. into the through their favorite cards. Yugi being put in the shoes of the Dark Magician probably helped show him how his monsters felt during battle, and helped shape his philosophy regarding the Duel spirits.

Great theory, I love it! I actually had the same theory I while back, but never really expanded on it... That being said however, I think that Roku isn't actually Yugi, just a huge fan. If your timeline is correct, he would have grown up during Duelist Kingdom, Battle City, and of course be deeply impressed by all of the duelists, especially Yugi. And hey, maybe he even met Yugi once and Yugi gave him the Black Luster Soldier card, and that's why it's his ace monster. I still prefer your theory, this is just an alternative.

This is a very interesting theory!! I tend to agree on the Black Luster Soldier. It's WAY too much of a coincidence that they would give such a powerful and prominent monster to a side character. Things like that can't just be done at random. There was a reason they gave him Black Luster Soldier in that scene. Also, I couldn't help but laugh along with you at that spoof of Game Theory's outro!! It was great!!

I think it's mokuba, moku/roku. Being the youngest of the group he probably missed all of his friends after they all got old and passed away so he wanted to maintain their legacy. The atem stimulations that Kaiba made also might of taught him some valuable lessons.

Something you didn't point out about the first time Yuma and Roku faced off was the similarities it shared to the first duel between Yami Bakura and Yami Yugi. Yugi proper was embodying the dark magician card and was made to feel the fear and uncertainty of the monster by being on the field himself. This is exactly what Roku does to Yuma; even putting him into the dark magician's body and everything, making his spirit companion have to handle things from outside the action. While I'm not sure if this would actually be Yugi himself or simply some successor of his', Roku's connection to him can't be denied, especially the attention to detail to the specificities in Yugi's experience when dueling with others.

Watching through zexal there was one scene from either 15/16 where Roku vaguely seems to be aware of astrals existence/ presence. Could be because of connection to Atem. Also when he consoled Yuma in 44 about not giving up on the WDC he mentioned something about Yuma not thinking about his partners feelings or something like that so that does prove that he is aware of Astrals existence so this theory does hold some solid truths.

One question in the movie Yu-Gi-Oh! Bond Beyond Time yugi was dueling paradox but yugi is duel with jaden and yuesi and in your timeline zexal is spread with 5ds so if this is yugi would he remember yuesi at least and in the statue there was no synchro monsters but yugi say a synchro monsters so answer that.

If it is yugi another reason he could live alone in secrecy at that age is that maybe after his best friends died he needed to be alone for awhile. Not many people are gonna bug you way out there. And carving the monsters was his way of keeping his mind off his sadness while also keeping the memory of his friends alive. Just a thought after seeing the video.

I really see no evidence of them being the same person. Yugi is one honest character, changing his name to live in secrect not true to his character at all, Roku could have possibly been a fan of his and maybe never even met him at all, but if he did Yugi is so humble he wouldn't think himself above anyone else even to have a student under him. I did see the whole video, didn't show any hard evidence of them being the same person, and Roku doesn't look like Solomon Moto(Yugi's grandfather). Still is cool that you share your theory with people giving everyone a chance for their opinion.

To counter your point about the egyptian gods: if I recall correctly when introduced in duel monsters it was stated that trying to draw those cards had a lot of casualties in Industrial Illusions, and only Pegasus was able to draw them. So I guess carving a statue of Ra would not be so simple as you make it sound..

Eh...yes and no since BBT could be considered a different timeline split off from the main timeline. It is also possible the affects of time travel could have made him forget. Yugi in GX should have remembered seeing Jaden prior as well since he fought him. (would say he gave him winged kuriboh, but it's hard to tell if that was Older Yugi in the first episode or Yami- he didn't have the puzzle around his neck, but in the dub it was Dan's Yami voice). I'm not saying your wrong or right, but there are different possibilities. Then again Konami is never really consent with the anime.

Declan McKenna For me I'd say 5ds(Second half of the world grand prix) and ZeXaL happened at the same time but due to synchros being more popular, Xyz Summoning never stuck which caused Z-ONE's future. But the episode of ZeXaL may have happened during the WRPG or the preparation of the event which would explain why Stardust Dragon wasn't a stone monster, some people maybe have believed Yusei wasn't well known at the moment yet.

Yeah, but at the same time, GX didn't introduce a new summoning method. They just decided to emphasize fusion an follow the rules. As for Aporia/Z-One, maybe they don't use Synchros cuz they will be affected by the abilities of anti-synchro effects from their other cards. I dunno too much about the anime effects of the Meklords or Timelords, though.

Hunter Pace, Team Catastrophe and the Zushin Team (forgot their name) also didn't Synchro. Kagemaru, Saiou, Mizuchi, Jesse, O'Brien, Fujiwara, and Darkness didn't Fusion either. In Zexal though it is very difficult to find someone who didn't XYZ summon. Usually the ones that didn't are one off opponents anyway.
