Scrambled Egg resulted in one of the funniest outcries in Yugiohs history. In the Ocg following the release of link monsters several archetypes got their own ones in 3 dedicated sets called Link Vrains packs, however the tcg never got these dedicated sets, several of the cards being integral for either their Archetype or summoning method to function.The cards from these sets were instead distributed over several main sets in the tcg, probably to raise the value of some very lackluster sets and get people to buy them instead of just buying specific cards. So when Scrambled Egg, a useless card summoning a useless monster that looked more like an aprils fools joke than a legit card, got printed instead of one of these monsters, people got angry.

Scramble Egg is a card that nowadays would be thrown into Animation Chronicle, which often have a lot of premiere cards considered of spotty quality due to how strictly they stick to gimmicky situational anime effects over making something more functional for the card game.

9:49 - The art is actually 100% appropriate. Fusion monsters combine 2 or more together to make something else. This card involves Fusion monsters that get destroyed (hence the Graveyard). When that happens, you choose one of the Fusion materials used to make it (hence the 3 cards in front of the tombstone) to summon back as if it were *"branching"* off from the original monster (hence the name). It's also happening right after the monster is being destroyed, implying an urgent attempt to recover something from a loss, hence the exclaimation mark. 20:09 - Some of them are probably based on worms like the IRL freaky tubifex worm colonies but they're mostly just aliens because that's what they are in the lore. They couldn't be called _"Alien_ Worms" because there was already an "Alien" archetype, so anything that was meant to support Aliens could also support Worms and Konami doesn't like cross-archetypal naming conventions because they make balancing cards even more difficult.

The Worms are a species of alien invaders in the lore (known for looking weird as hell) with basically no relation to worm, the animal. The reason why there's a lot of them is because there's one for each letter of the alphabet (Apocalypse, Opera and Ugly standing in for A, O and U respectively) They're what prompted the four original tribes of Duel Terminal to build the Ally of Justice weapons. There's an entire archetype dedicated exclusively to Kamen Rider Kabuto whereas the rest of the Kamen Rider franchise references tend to be either one-offs (like Dokurorider) or crammed into Masked HERO. Explossum is a pun on tapir in Japanese so it's just the localizers being weird. I think Boompoline is kind of a forced pun even in Japanese but it is still a pun.
