Thank you for the video and for sharing the deck profile, keep it up ! I have a question. Can Floodgate or Adhesion Trap Hole be activated after a monster is summoned with a skill card, like Hyper Metamorphosis, or Coccoon of Ultra Evolution?

Hello, thanks so much for the support. Honestly, I am not entirely sure how to answer your question, there has been a lot of debate within the community whether you could activate Floodgate or Adhesion when a monster is summoned via a Skill. The usual rule is you are not allowed to Chain to a Skill, but I am wondering if Floodgate or Adhesion would start their own Chain instead meaning it may be possible to activate it afterwards. I would recommend checking out some other resources such as Facebook Groups or Discord Channels with detailed rulings answered. If anyone reading this comment would like to jump in help us out, we would greatly appreciate it as well!

@@AVAULT I think we are wondering about the same thing, if I understand you correctly. That is, whether the Skill card is completed successfully with the Summoning and then the X Trap Card starts a chain, in which case there is no problem using it, or whether the Trap card is interrupting the Skill card creating a chain and therefore it can't be activated. I'm inclined to think the latter is true. According to Yugioh-Wiki Summoning cannot be placed anywhere in the chain which is congruent with the fact that Skill cards do not follow the Chain. If you use a Trap card like Floodgate, you are NOT chaining to the Summon. You are starting a new chain and the Trap Card is Step 1 of the Chain. But, Skill Cards not only do not follow the Chain, but can also not be responded to. Starting a new Chain can be interpreted as a response, in which case it is not permitted. On which camp do you seem to fall? Do you think it's permitted or not allowed?

@@Kageyami1994 So I haven't played Duel Links in almost 2 years so I'm unsure which Speed Duel skills also exist in Duel Links, but is there is a skill (or skills) in Duel Links that allows you to summon a monster? If so, maybe someone that is active in the game can test this with a friend. In theory, if the game allows a trap like Floodgate to be activated in response to a skill summon, it follows that you should be able to do it in Speed Duels.

So yeah you can't chain a skill effect because it's a skill effect not a card effect. Q: Can you activate "Adhesion Trap Hole" when the opponent Special Summons a "Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth" through the Skill effect of "Hyper Metamorphosis" A: No, cards and effects cannot be activated in response to the summon of a monster through a skill Q:Is the monster summoned via the Fusion Party skill considered summoned by the skill (and thus protected) or is it considered a normal Fusion Summon (not protected), just done without Polymerization? Yes, the official ruling of Speed Duels allows 6 cards maximum for both the Extra Deck and Side Deck. Hope this helps.
