@underdogchris1753 Tbh, Go Rush had it worse. Season 2 was trying to push Ryuzu brothers as the big main villains of the season. The opening had them front and center as the big baddies, but they became largly irrelevant after 13 episodes, which was really weird. I hope Dark Empire will still be relevant after the first 13 episodes, but I am doubtful that will happen

Every opening (except Mirage) becomes irrelevant after a short time. Nanananana! - No changes after Episode 12 Harevutai - Goha Siblings were in the opening until Episode 89. Mirage - Only opening to get constantly updated with each arc, albeit not all at once. Rovian Bandits weren’t updated until Episode 22. Zuwijo’s subordinates in the fourth arc weren’t updated until Episode 46. Soul Galaxy - No changes after Episode 65

No instead of new summoning mechanics, this introduces a new system of dueling which is the rush duel format, which is a fresh take on the series, this is simple dueling just like the Duel Monster and Gx Era where you just summon and tribute summon and uses spell card for fusion summon, an exclusive summoning mechanics available in rush duel format is maximum summoning

While it is true that this (and sevens) are more targeted to kids and families, I think it is worth arguing that it does not diminish its quality. Sure, the villain squads have exhaggerated personalities and comedic traits, but they still go through arcs and have plenty of good moments. Take Zwijo's comrades (and Mitsuko) and compare where they are in their debut episodes to their scenes at the end of season 2. Sure, The☆Lugh's power is inherently comedic (a manga so boring it freezes you) but the consequences are played very straight with it being a considerable menace in all of the third arc and zwijo even acquiring a page of the manga and using it to stage a coup- not to mention the implications of his power tying into Zaion's story as well. I genuinely think the Bridge era seasons are generally more tightly written (and sometimes, very intelligently written) than some of the previous seasons. Take a twist like Kuaidul's entire existence and role in the story. There were hints, hell, we technically saw him at the start of *every* episode for the first season or so! I can't think of a gallop era yugioh doing something like this at any time. (In case anyone needs it, Bridge era yugioh are Sevens and Go Rush; Gallop was the previous animation studio excluding Season 0 which is by Toei) This is all without even mentioning Sevens and Go Rush's connections to it and how it uses its status as a sequel to deliver some very interesting twists.
