What if I told you that you already saw a Yugioh GX movie and didnt even know it? NAS had planned a Yugioh DM/GX crossover movie. While the movie itself was cancelled, a lot of it made its way into season 2 in the form of the Domino City field trip. Sartorius was originally designed as a villain for this cancelled movie, which is why he wears an obelisk blue uniform despite never being part of the dorm. This makes me wonder what season 2 originally would have been about. I imagine it would have focused on the pro league, the genex tournament, and Aster Phoenix solving his father's murder. Maybe the ending wouldve had destiny hero plasma possessing Aster and setting up to je final confrontation with Jaden.

Issue I have with this is during the duel with Joey, we see Joey use red-eyes darkness dragon. That card was linked to Nightshroud and the evil within him…so Joey couldn’t use that card.

Love it. I would make some changes. 1st duel) Have the movie begun where the GX final duel takes place between Yami and Jaden. During this duel Yami performs a Synchro Summon. It's awesome. Jaden wins and we learn it was a virtual technology seen in DoD called the Vrains. Yugi congratulate Jaden and gives him a invite to challenge him and take the throne. They will duel in a few days at Kaibacrop 2nd Duel) Things go the same way in the video just with more Synchro Summoning. 3rd Duel) Same as the video. But more use of the ancient Egyptian mage. This lends to our villain using XYZ Summoning. Jaden wins using his experience at the start of the movie with a Link summon. Epilogue set up both 5Ds and Vrains. Final scene of the movie is the same final scene in GX. With Jaden pointing to the sky.

I like the idea but I tried to stick to a semi-realistic model and as Synchro, XYZ and definitely Link didn’t exist yet, I don’t think they’d have it feature in such a prominent film.

Ideas like these are my favorite part of the yugioh anime community, love it so far! Pretty sure it was just a rumor but there was news circulating recently that there was a new yugioh movie in the works featuring many of the protagonists of series and (allegedly) Jaden/Yugi would be the focus. Even if it's not true, it's exciting to think about Yugioh GX the movie as someone who grew up with the series and newer fans alike. Cheers!

Everyone kept the Legendary Dragons? Yugi accepted the Ultimate Power? Jaden kept Yubel? Seto was more hands-on with Duel Academy after the forbidden dorm incident? Crowler didn't hold a grudge? Jaden & Alexis start dating after their first duel? Alexis explained about her getting kidnapped to Sheppard? Jaden kept getting promoted? Bastion beat Tanya? Jaden kept the Sacred Beasts? Aw I was kinda hoping to see the Tenma Brothers from Yugioh R working for pegasus as well. Sure, they may have been manga exclusive, but they're still iconic (at least in my opinion) Something that might be helpful is showing some kind of visual to show the board state beyond screencaps from the anime. Maybe some kind of simulation on duelingbook/edopro? Also... it feels kinda underwhelming to have the big bad play a Venom deck, when that was already a deck played in GX by a different character. I imagine if they made a movie like this, they'd either use a pre-existing deck that hasn't been used in the anime, or they'd make an exclusive deck for the character. Aside from that, though, it's an overall good story.

I would love for you to do a what if there were more Millennium items. Because technically speaking Kul Elna (クル・エルナ) was a village where Aknadin created the 7 Millennium Items, through the sacrifice of 99 human souls. However a village is a lot bigger than just 100 people. It is generally larger than a "hamlet" but smaller than a "town." Some geographers specifically define a village as having between 500 and 2,500 inhabitants. In most parts of the world, villages are settlements of people clustered around a central point. So technically speaking they should have had between 5 to 25 sets of Millennium items.

I am confused as to when this movie is supposed to take place? It says they are still in their dorm room in the beginning, so did seasons three and four just not happen? Because I don’t think it would make sense for Jaden being able to take on Yugi pre-season three. My biggest gripe with this though is that it's supposed to be a GX movie, yet it feels more like a DM movie. And the only GX characters actually prominent and even dueling in the plot are Jaden and Syrus. Imo, GX's success came from the fact that even though it was a sequel moreso, they focused more on the new characters and gave more to stand on their own instead of banking on the older characters to draw in more viewers if they had given them larger roles and more duels. I can't really see this happening for a GX movie. Although one thing you're sadly right about predicting how they would do it is making a whole GX movie with Aster Phoenix being non-existent (or he would at least only be in one just to lose a duel and/or be in a damsel in distress role again) 😞.

It’s between season 2 and 3 because that’s when they were originally planning on creating a movie in real life, same with the fact they were planning on bringing back the original cast for “DM vs GX” style film because everyone knows they wouldn’t be able to sell a movie in the cinemas without Yugi Muto. Also, I know Jaden would get smoked by Yugi that’s why I kept their duel to only a couple turns and then end it for the tag duel.

19:21 Just a nickpick since i get the feeling you try to stick to the rules with your rewrites and this but, yeah my body doesn't work like this at all. It's specifically if your opponent uses it and negates activation of the card, so even if it could be activated then dark hole would just be negated. Not a massive thing in the grand scheme of the story, but it's something i noticed.

I liked this story from the very beginning. My one thing I'd say after listening to the whole story, would this somehow tie to Viper in S3? From where you placed this timeline wise, it would be directly after S2/before S3. Viper uses a Venom deck in S3, so I think it'd be fun to explore the idea of Apep possessing him the same way Atem does Yugi. Perhaps being brought back by Yubel when she targets Jaden?

Does this take place before or after Yubel because if before then the plot is fitting well but if this take place after Yubel Jaden should also have access to Yubel’s\ the great king’s power as well as super poly then why isn’t Jaden tapping into his and Yubel’s power along with Yugi re-tapping into Pharaoh Atem’s power? Are you gonna cover the anime's filler arcs? There are certain things that can be re-written about them, usually to be more invested in the plot. Thus, I have suggestions: Yugi vs Rebecca: Rebecca believes Mr Muto stole the 4th copy of Blue Eyes White Dragon from her grandpa, to the point of saying things that rub everyone seeing the duel the wrong way. This leads to the Pharaoh taking over for Yugi, and berating Rebecca for her behavior that is unbecoming of a Duelist, which shocks her and shakes her initial beliefs a little. But then it all crumbles when Pharaoh uses Soul Release to weaken Rebecca's Shadow Ghoul and win the duel, which is what Mr Muto initially planned to defeat Mr Hawkins before surrendering. This is to ensure that Rebecca is humbled in a way so that she can grow up a bit and be the kind of character anyone can like. How this plays out is up to you. Legendary Heroes: I got nothing. You can have it make sense the way you want. DDM: Have this arc go in a manner similar to the manga version. Later have Mr Clown reconcile with Mr Muto. This will have the redemption and forgiveness of past and present generations. Virtual World: 4Kids usually butchers the original script on purpose for little kids to understand. Have Gozaburo explain to the main cast that he'll control missiles and aim them at countries so that he can rule the world or else he'll destroy it. Basically, switch 4Kids dialogue with original Japanese in certain places if you want. Doma/Waking the Dragons: While this arc is beloved, there are various things that could've been done better to avoid plot-holes. Also, it should have previous characters involved in the arc. The Ishtars to aid Pharaoh as best they can, and of course Yami Bakura as a temporary ally, so that he doesn't let Dartz have his way with the Pharaoh. Grand Championship: This should be the pinnacle of Joey's overall development. Switch the roster of the Tournament around so that Joey advances to the finals, while having him come to terms with his life so far and wondering if he should continue the way he is. Also, have Mai Valentine and Bandit Keith involved. The former to see if Mai and Joey can be more than friends, and the latter to be under the service of Zigfried as a means of getting revenge on Seto. And maybe, just maybe, Seto and Mokuba by then will start to respect Joey, in their own way. As for the movie 'Pyramid of Light', have the antagonist introduce himself as a devoted yet extreme follower of Anubis from Ancient Egypt. And that's all I've got. Don't know how to have the Capsule Monsters arc make more sense, other than having the Kaiba brothers involved, since Mokuba is a self proclaimed expert of Capsule Monsters. But that would be a repeat of Legendary Heroes, only in a mystical manner. Sorry if this was too much to read. Just wanted to get all of this out of my system. Enjoy. :)

This was really good video, but there are some points I didn't like, or more like criticisms I guess. For starters, this is set up as a movie based on the anime continuity, but we see Jaden using his Manga counterpart cards which is not bad, but makes it kind of confusing. Joey using the Red Eyes darkness dragon is cool, but it was built up to be Aticus's monster, so maybe a different Red Eyes monster would have been a better idea. Lastly, the deck the main antigonist is using has already been used from another character (Professor Cobra I believe) in GX, so it just seems unoriginal and if you build it up to be the biggest duel in Jaden's life, it seems anticlimactic to pitch him against a deck he has beaten before. Otherwise the story is coherent and satisfying which I liked, so yeah, that's about it.

Thanks for the comment! I felt like Jaden could’ve easily used these cards in the anime but they just chose not too, and in a movie setting they’d need something special to make it more dramatic! Also, in this universe, Cobra/Viper didn’t exist yet, so this would’ve been the first showing of the deck! Since I have nothing better to do with my time, I'm gonna put this under a bit of a microscope. I love your work and this isn't meant to be disparaging. My personal preference WOULD be post-end of Season 4 GX movie where the cast gets to meet Judai again, but for the sake of fairness I'd make the following assumption: -This would be made/released between the events of Seasons 2 and 3 and in turn future developments outside of the remaining events of GX will not be considered: Namely, I'll pretend Dark Side of Dimensions and Bonds Beyond Time aren't even a sparkle in anyone's eye yet. I like having Apep/Apophis as a primary villain. However, I don't like his choice of Deck. A snake-themed Deck does work, but Venoms are famously just really bad _and_ Professor Viper in Season 3 already uses them. Pulling an Anubis/Aigami and just making him his own Deck will probably work better. In addition, I believe having his initial goal being stealing from old ruins in search of the Millennium Items before setting his sights on Yugi would be a better motivation. A good scene to establish Apep as a threatening antagonist could be facing Ishizu and Marik together. In spite of their newfound trust and outstanding teamwork, Apep's unorthodox strategies or plain overwhelming power lets him beat them both taking most of the Items. They fortunately hid the puzzle from Apep until after he leaves. They travel to Domino City to meet just the person to protect it. Yugi and the Ishtars' meeting will be about someone stealing the Items rather than the gods, since they vanished from the world when Atem left with the exceptions of the attempted reprint of Ra in GX and Obelisk temporarily returning in DSOD. There's only two really big writing choices I disagree with: Yugi VS Jaden and Atem appearing. For the sake of making GX's end as massive as it is, it was necessary that Yugi and Jaden had ZERO interaction following Winged Kuriboh being given. A funny coincidence would have been having several scenes in the movie where Yugi and Jaden just baaaaaaarely don't see/meet eachother a few times but for the sake of GX's ending they can't Duel against eachother. Instead, Apep will make his play the moment _before_ they're about to Duel. I love all the future interpretations/versions of the old YGO cast members. The only change I might make would be having Kaiba acknowledge that Jaden's the one who won the Create-a-Card contest and now has the Neo Spacians. Since this is his main connection to the original cast, I'd probably have Jaden's Duels in this movie primarily involve using them over his E-Heroes. Speaking of the Duels: Joey VS Syrus is excellent. I don't think Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon's a very good fit for Joey, though. Darkness Dragon in GX has always been a sign of Nightshroud's influence and power over Atticus. For an alternate power-up, fusing Red-Eyes to make Black Skull Dragon or Meteor Black Dragon would be more fitting imo. If we can cheat a little with what cards are available though, I'd have the Fusion be Joey fusing Red-Eyes with his real ace, Gearfried, to make Red-Eyes Slash Dragon. Attacking and equipping Gilford the Lightning from the Graveyard, they crash and Joey summons back Gilford. When Syrus is about to win with the doubled Jumbo Drill, Joey flips up Reverse Trap, turning Power Bond's boosting effect into a reduction effect to reduce Jumbo Drill's ATK to 0 to win the Duel. Jaden VS Yugi like I said should not happen on screen until the end of GX. Instead, Apep will interrupt now wanting to face the Pharaoh's vessel and take the Millennium Puzzle so he can resurrect into his true form as the Sun-Eating snake of Egyptian legend. Instead of discounting Jaden, Apep's own power/identity as a ruler of night and darkness lets him foresee that Jaden is the Supreme King's reincarnation though he makes no effort to explain it. Fascinated, he decides he wishes to battle the both of them to gain the full set of the Millennium Items and Jaden's own power, which Jaden incorrectly believes is his ability to see spirits. I don't think Atem should ever return following the end of the original series. Even if he wanted to, Yugi without the God Cards is an even stronger Duelist than Atem is with them as can be seen at the end of the original series. Yugi and Jaden VS Apep: Since idk how Apep's Deck should really be handled, I'll leave it like this: the Duel should end either with Yugi saving them with his Kuriboh followed by Jaden winning with Winged Kuriboh LV10 or with a combined attack between Dark Magician and Neos possibly fusing them together. After the final blow, Apep curses them both before he vanishes, "especially you, Supreme King...!" Since this is a Shadow Game, the two, wary and tired from the challenging Duel, emerge from the Shadow Realm collapse back to back. The crowd, not knowing the result of the Duel, are confused. Yugi and Jaden both nudge each other, saying "I guess we'll have to pick this back up some other time."

I really like the ideas here, I do feel the Jaden/Yugi vs Apep stuff could’ve been handled better but purely due to trying to upload consistently I wanted to make sure I got the video out quick enough so I opted against doing a custom deck but I like your Marik and Ishizu note specifically!

This really sums up the issues I had with this as it felt more like a Yu-Gi-Oh! movie with GX characters instead of a true crossover movie. Jaden kind of just feels like he's there and very little GX lore is brought up. While I agree that the Pharaoh shouldn't intervene in the duel, I think he could still appear. Instead of vanishing right after losing the duel, what if Apep tries to take Yugi and Jaden down with him in a suicidal charge. As Yugi and Jaden are being consumed by darkness, Jaden's eyes briefly flash to the Supreme King's (to foreshadow Season 3) but before anything happens, the Millennium Puzzle reacts and Atem in Yugi's body banishes Apep back into the Shadow Realm. Since he doesn't intervene until after the duel, Atem could save the day and provide fanservice while not cheapening Yugi being the true King of Games of the two.

Nah not for me I’m not a fan of the concept of the story tbh not to mention the big obvious plot hole. Cool idea tho I’ve always wondered what a GX movie would be like . But if I’d either want one set in the early half of GX or one set more so after the end of GX getting to see Jaden’s adventures and what he’s been up to since graduation. Which is something we don’t get to see from yugioh protagonist after they turn 18 they usually fade into obscurity. Which I’m not a fan of with the exception of yugioh to a degree. I wish there was more tie in mainly about the protagonist in other shows GX is really the only one who had a big connection to the original series with certain plot lines and yugioh making some appreances . But while as kid I hated that we didn’t see more of yugioh as and adult I appreciate that they let Jaden stand on his own cause he becomes a really beloved character especially in recent years .

I didn’t really consider the Yubel stuff as it happened post season 2 which is a slight mishap on my part, as for the placement I only went with here as it’s where they originally planned on making a GX movie officially hence why they incorporated the trip to Domino City in the original, thanks for the comment though, some great points here!
