His strategy is to buy out the Sharesies of up incoming fashion brands and threaten to then sell all shares if they don’t relinquish their companies which allows LVMH to acquire the companies at a nice discount.

its possible that the company's relative success was dependent on its brand image and other factors intrinsically tied to the company or not tied to those people's skills such as its location (which kaiba would still have ownership of through owning the company) so opening a new company may have not worked cos those people weren't the only thing required for the company to function.
